My stay at the Hout Bay Hideaway was one of the best holidays I can remember. The accommodation was indulgent comfort at its best. A quiet setting in an indigenous garden and abundant birdlife. The weather was perfect and I was grateful to have the saltwater swimming pool to dip into. The hosts, Sue and Martin, were kind and gracious and made me feel at home.
We booked away for our minimoon/local honeymoon if you will at Hout Bay Hideaway the oast December 2021, and what an awesome stay it was. Even though we weren't able to go overseas as initially intended, we could not have chosen a better place to spend our first mini vacay away as husband and wife. Sue and Martin are so welcoming and by far the kost accommodating hosts you will come across. The rooms were immaculate, spacious and oh so bright and airy! We stayed in the Bay Room and the view of mountians on either side and the water peeping in between was like a real life painting. Definitely a return stay for us!
This house is a bit special, all the rooms were individual and beautifully furnished with great attention to detail, very big comfortable beds and even a cute kitchenette. We started in Sentinel which was great but then moved to Bay View which became available because, well, it had a bay view! Both rooms had their own terrace where breakfast was served at a time to suit yourselves which suited us being a pair of sleepy heads. Fruit, yogurt pastries, cereals plus cooked to order made lunch a late affair. Run by Sue and Martin a couple of Tykes from Sheffield a warm and friendly welcome is guaranteed. We will return.
Recently stayed in the Hout Bay Hideaway with my wife on our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. Sue and Martin were amazing hosts and couldn't have done more to help, highly recommend. Tom & Laurence
We spent two nights at the start of our trip here in Hout Bay. As with the best b&bs we could easily have spent longer. Cape Town is an easy Uber ride away and the lovely Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are just around the bay. Our room was fabulous: so quiet and with a beautiful view towards Hout Bay harbour. Breakfast was a delicious spread of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, pastries, fresh breads and eggs & bacon if you still had room. Great tea and freshly ground coffee in the room plus a lovely bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. This would make a great alternative to staying in central Cape Town. Thank you Sue and Martin for such a welcome start to our holiday.
