Detailed Reviews

What a beautiful position Amakhaya Lodge is in. The view of the Hout Bay is stunning. We stayed in The Giraffe suite. It was comfortable, one could take in the view from the comfort of the double bed, gorgeous. All the amenities were adequate and the breakfast was good. Friendly staff and a happy "African Ambience" in decor and situation. Would definitely return for a longer stay.

Perfect quiet spot on the bay. hosts Pierre and his wife very friendly and ready to help at any time. We were there with a group of Harley riders for whom Pierre organized excellent South Africa tour on Harley. We strongly recommend this place, real family atmosphere, excellent breakfast, nice people.

Had a fantastic time at this place. Friendly welcome by Tim. The lodge is small so you got to talk to all the guests during meal time. Our ranger Ryan was friendly and informative. Having done safaris as big safari parks it was pleasant to see the animals without 10 other jeeps circling around the same area. Having had said that you don't see the same amount of animals as you would in a bigger park. The food was very good too. Nice bar area with good selection of drinks (all inclusive). The rooms are spread out with a private covered "terrace" area with loungers and excellent views of the surrounding grounds. Huge bathroom with a big bath and shower. Great luxury accommodation overlooking the game reserve.

Spent one night at this lodge with its amazing views of Hout Bay. It provides a great central base from which to explore the beautiful coastal town. The room was spacious, with walk in closet and coffee facilities... only problem was no dstv! Big bummer on the weekend of the biggest rugby final! Nonetheless we had a very enjoyable break away from home, enjoyed lounging at the pool and playing with the daschund pups on site! I was expecting more from the promised breakfast (only cold meats, cheese and rolls) but we made do. Overall a great place that was value for money.
