The Victorskloof Guest Lodge is a tranquil oasis of green with amazing views of the Hout Bay valley, beach, bay and surrounding mountains. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-stocked and the owners go out of their way to cater for everyone.

The beautiful lush garden receives the same care as the guests and thrives, ensuring you'll wake up with birdsong. The pool area is a great place to spend the days you don't want to go and explore. But as the lodge is located perfectly for trips to Hout Bay itself, Llandudno, Cape Town, Constantia or further down the Cape Peninsula, those days will be few. There is too much to do and see.

The staff prepares a beautiful breakfast every morning and is helpful and friendly in every way.

We spend a month with Lilian and Derek and have found ourselves being treated as family rather than as guests. Now being residents of Hout Bay, we will most certainly use this lodge as the go-to place for anyone visiting us.

I enjoyed a really relaxing and refreshing stay at this luxury guest house in Hout Bay. Located on the top of a hill, the views of the area can be observed throughout the property, and yes they are amazing! The breakfast was wonderfully prepared by the team and the staff were really friendly. The suites were comfortable and spacious. Lovely overall experience.

Stayed here for 5 days in March. Excellent position for us as family live just down the road. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and bed comfy. Breakfast’s were good and freshly cooked.

Unfortunately there was no air conditioner in our room and no fan available .

There was no water available in the fridge and when we asked for some bottled water, we’re told they didn’t have any! surely this should have been a basic requirement?

The shower was also in the bedroom, which wasn’t really ideal

Just a few basic improvements would have improved our stay greatly

On the outskirts of Hout Bay set up in the mountains with truely amazing views down onto Chapmans Peak and Hout bay. Secure parking. We had a family room which was in the main lodge - massive king size bed in one room with shower / sink unit in the same room and through an arch into a room with twin beds. Comfy beds and duvets. Also a small seperate living area with sofa, chair and coffee table. Amazing very large patio area with table and chairs for 4 overlooking the pool. Downstairs in the main lodge there is a communal breakfast buffet area, a large communal lounge and other large patio areas. Breakfast was divine - good choice and freshly cooked hot food if you also want that. There are 6 or 7 units on the entire property so never too busy. Pool with couple of sunbeds too and another patio table and chairs to seat 8 Always space to find a quiet spot. There is an onsite manager 24x7 and the owners are generally about in the day although they live offsite, 10 mins away.

Please accept my apologies for this delay which is unacceptable. The initial problem was that we were unable to credit or refund the foreign credit card used Booking.com has on a numerous occasions done the refund and billed me as was the case in this instance. The time taken to effect this was unacceptable and I understand your frustration for which I once again would like to apologize. Regards

We had a very good time in Victorskloof Lodge, a bit far away from busy Capetown centre. We had a great view from our room and Jonathan and Derek (our hosts) were both very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. They also gave us many useful tips about what to do in the Region, and when.

We highly recommend it :)

I am one of those annoying people who can pick fault with anywhere I stay, however, I genuinely can't think of anything. To say this place is value for money is an understatement. We were given such a warm welcome by Shannon, the owners daughter, who took time to chat and show us around. We very quickly felt that we were staying with old friends, who let us get on with things, but were always there if we needed advice, help or just a friendly chat. Jonathan the manager deserves a special mention as his lovely smile and 'can do' attitude is a credit to the owners. I had two superb massages in the on site Spa, both carried out by the sweet and lovely Pinky. The room was split level and huge! Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the view from our room was beyond spectacular... my ONLY suggestion would be to invest in some comfy chairs/loungers for the terraces so guests can enjoy the views even more. I understand the new owners took over a year ago, so please ignore any negative reviews prior to then, as this is simply a lovely, relaxing place to stay. I would recommend hiring a car as it is tucked away (so peaceful). It is also on a steep incline so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. We will especially miss the lovely hotel cat... what a sweetie.. she was often waiting to greet us each morning and evening and loves a good fuss.

This place is amazing, I can't fault it on any level. When we arrived we were greeted so warmly by Shannon and were shown around our room and the communal areas of the accommodation. I say room but it was more like a private lodge. We had a huge living area with sofa, dining table and kitchen area with 3 beds edged around the room. On the mezzanine level there was an individual toilet then a huge double room with a shower and cordoned off toilet area. The communal area of the lodgings was huge and it really felt like you were being entertained in someone's living room, it had a really warm cozy feel to it. There was a lovely cold selection of fruits/bread and cereal everyday for breakfast and we were always asked by Jonathan or Thandie what we would like as a cooked order. I would also like to point out that for the first time ever the reality of Victorskloof Lodge is even better than the owners pictures online!! Every single member of staff was so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble& we would definitely like to go back next year. Thank you to derek and Lillien & all the staff, I hope to see you again soon!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Victorskloof Lodge for 5 nights last week. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Derek (the new owner) and Jonathan the manager. Jonathan gave us a toor of the Lodge and settled us into our room. During our stay nothing was a problem and it felt like we were really part of the family. We spent a lovely afternoon by the swimming pool, and on other days the great Hout Bay location meant we were close to vineyards and Camps Bay when we wanted to venture further afield. I also spent a few hours in the onsite day spa, where Pinky gave a fantastic massage and facial. If we didn't live half a world away we would be back again very soon!
