This hidden gem is nestled in the lush vegetation of a romantic park-like garden with breathtaking views of the Cape mountains. At Kronendal Heritage, you can indulge in daydreams next to the heated pool, smell the passionate fragrances of lavender, hibiscus and frangipani in the lovingly kept garden or watch the local Emus strut around the Country Estate. Each of Kronendal's five luxurious suites are - depending on size - equipped with separate lounge and bedroom and a spacious private terrace, furnished with antiques, original art and carefully selected accessories. Enjoy the untouchable privacy the lush interiors of the roomy suites have to offer. Kronendal Heritage is the perfect place for discerning guests looking for exclusive privacy. It is far enough from the tourist mass attractions to offer complete relaxation, yet near enough to all the local hot spots such as the beach, the Hout Bay harbour, the village with its shops and restaurants, and of course the scenic Chapman's Peak Drive. You won't believe you're only 20 minutes from Cape Town!

The Kronendal Heritage Estate is not only perfect for a relaxing vacation but also an ideal remote working space. The suites are big enough to work and live in it. There is a battery and solar system installed that keeps the power running. So load shedding and weak internet is not a problem at all. The have a new build breakfast/communal area with indoor and outdoor seating -perfect to escape the working zone and recharge your mind and body. Service is very personal with an eye for details. Highly recommended!!!

We spent 4 days here when our accommodation at Camps Bay fell through and they arranged this for us in its stead A beautiful centuries old place, it has a huge pool and nice garden. We had the “cottage” separate to the main house. It’s private, enormous and beautiful, with lounge, a large kitchen and lovely bathroom and comfortable bed. . Very relaxing, my only minor complaint is one common to most of Africa - need a few brighter lights after dark in the bedroom just to find stuff when you need it. Bonus - the place was not subject to load shedding either! The staff were very lovely, and the beautifully presented breakfast each day was superlative. The very nice owner came down each day to ask us if we needed help to plan our day which was really helpful. I’d highly recommend this place. It’s also a short walk to the hop on hop off bus and a short drive to the beautiful Hout Bay. A definite 5 stars

An outstanding boutique bed and breakfast in Hout Bay. Spacious, well appointed suites in a Cape Dutch style set in a lush landscaped setting offer a relaxing stay while touring or on business in the Cape Town area. A pool offers a refreshing break after a day of sightseeing or shopping. Maggie and her team provide outstanding service making guests feel welcome while accommodating their needs. The breakfast service is complete and cheerfully adjusted to guest needs or requirements. Well worth the stay and a stay on suture visits to the area.

Mesmerising guest house thanks to a great host, staff and architecture. Stayed for a few weeks at Kronendal and it has become like a 2nd home. The suite is spotlessly clean, super comfy bed and due to its dutch-influenced design, you really experience the "local feeling" without compromising on its 5 star quality. Aside from the guesthouse itself, Maggie goes above and beyond. She really makes you feel welcomed and has great recommendation for local restaurants etc. She makes magic things happen :)

As a yearly visitor to Cape Town we like to start off our trip with a few days "chilling" and there is no better place. Greeted by Maggie on arrival with a cold bottle of South African wine. We tend to stay in the Moyo suite, which has a comfortable living/dining area large bedroom and ensuite. A small terrance where the Kronendal Heritage breakfast is served at a time to suit by one of Maggie's wonderfully friendly staff. Hout Bay is a little out of central Cape Town but very close to Constantia with some world class restaurants. Hout Bay itself is a great community with everything you will need.

We have been in the Kronendal Heritage together with a group of 9 people and we really appreciated the great guesthouse. All the rooms are designed for a great atmosphere. Maggie the owner was always there to help with tipps, reservations and created a lovely Christmas vacation for us. Her staff is very professional, friendly and always supportive. The pool area is outstanding and the garden and the nature is like a small paradise which invites you to relax. As we are frequent travelers to South Africa we really appreciated our stay and can for sure this outstanding guesthouse which truly has a five star standard with a perfect caring team. We all enjoyed our stay.

Our 9 day stay in Hout Bay was pure bliss thanks to Maggie & her lovely staff. Kronendal Heritage is it’s own oasis, with classic Dutch Cape architecture & all the amenities one would want when traveling internationally. Maggie gave us great recommendations for markets, restaurants in & around Cape Town, as well as accommodating us every morning with a lovely breakfast. Her staff is very kind & helpful & we loved having a bottle of champagne by the pool while watching the clouds form over Table Mountain. We stayed in the Moyo Suite & it was so comfortable & tastefully decorated. Would highly recommend this establishment to our dearest friends & anyone wanting an authentic South African experience!

The Kronendal Heritage Estate is situated in a safe and quite residential area. Central Hout Bay and the beach are only few minutes drive away -either wit UBER or your own rental car. Parking is within the property. The entire estate is very well kept and clean. We love the mix of the “gone by area” architecture and modern amenities. The Mojo Suite is huge and the eye for details is amazing. We had wonderful relaxed breakfasts on our own patio with an amazing view and even better and personal service. Whenever we are back to Hour Bay we will stay at the Kronendal.

I have known Kronendal Heritage for 7 years now and it's by far my favorite hideaway around Cape Town. Maggie and Uli create an unbelievable feeling of being at home and have become good friends over the years. They run an intimite, african boutique lodge with German precision and class, I love it and will always return with great joy.
