We stayed at the Dreamhouse guest house overlooking Haut bay for 5 days , Ivanka Luis and their staff could not have been more accommodating, the location is perfect the rooms spacious well appointed and most have fantastic views of the bay , 2 pools the breakfast absolutely superb and although the guesthouse is 3 houses altogether you would think you were there on your own most of the time as it is spread over superb areas of mature gardens trees hidden paths and pools .
The cost by Uber into Camps bay is approx £4 GBP or around 80 ZA rand so no need to drive if you fancy going there for food or drinks , they have honesty bars in all rooms ( very reasonable and well stocked )and also in the pool bar area which is nice to relax at in the evening , maintenance is obviously a high priority as everything is well groomed in The rooms and outside , we have been to ZA many times and this trip was for a month it is one of the favourite places we have stayed at .
Thanks again to our hosts Ivanka and luis .

Our second visit to Dreamhouse and another wonderful stay. We were really well looked after as ever and the breakfasts and service from all the staff were impeccable. Our room had a great view and decked verandah - just a shame we didn’t get to use it as much because of the unseasonably strong winds. A great night out from here was the Hout Bay Friday market - not to be missed - street food, craft stalls and great live music.

Our stay at the Dreamhouse was beyond outstanding. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing part of Cape Town which is less touristy this is definitely the place. We had a great view of the mountains and the Bay from our room and be prepared for delicious epic breakfasts in the morning overlooking Hout Bay. Five stars all the way!

"What a perfect week" is probably the closest resume of our stay at Dreamhouse Guesthouse. Ivanka and Louis were perfect host and we couldn't dream of a better place to stay with our family.

First of all, Louis welcomed us very gently with a drink and some explanations about the Guesthouse (wifi, surroundings, etc.). Thanks to a 5-star view on the ocean and the mountains we directly felt in vacation!

We actually arrived pretty early in the day (we landed at 10.30 in Cape Town) but the family room was ready and waiting for us. While the furniture was a bit used (but working fine!) the room was definitely confortable, offered plenty of space and intimacy. It was like we had our own house within the nice guesthouse garden.

Breakfast was a great surprise (we did not know what to expect due to Covid) not only because of the qality of products but also because of the available choice. The ladies were smiling, available and keen to help. They always had a nice word for our 4-years old son.

Next to the stunning view (we couldn't get bored of it) , the location is very central. 30 minutes away from Cape Town, 15 minutes from Table Mountain, 5 minutes from Hout Bay harbour, 10 minutes from Chapman's peak drive, 60 minutes from Cape of Good Hope and Boulder beach, etc.

As it's a Guesthouse (and not an hotel) it was not possible to have lunch or diner on site. But Ivanka and Louis were very helpful and even prepared some sandwiches or pasta when we decided spending a full day at the hotel around the nice swimming pool (what a view once again!).

As a conclusion, we did not visit any other guesthouse in South Africa/Cape Town during our stay. So it's difficult to compare with another guesthouse, but travelling 10 to 20 times a year for professional reasons all around the world, it's the best quality/price ratio we ever have.

PS: it's true that the driveway to the guesthouse is tight and steep. But it's very easy to park on the street (very quiet place) for those not confortable with it.

Best quality and service ever from arrival to departure. The room was spotless with views so picturesque it made me feel like staying longer. The staff are friendly and welcoming, especially Marilyn with her sweet and humble nature.

Already the day before arrival we were contacted if we had any special requests. At arrival we were welcomed by Lina, one of the staff of Ivanka, the owner of the Guesthouse. With tips for where to dine or to visit places we were accompanied to our room. A fantastic room with a view over the valley ending up in the ocean at Houtbaai, very nice to wake-up and open the curtains and the doors to enjoy the view out of the bed. After that a to a gorgeous breakfast with everything you need. We choose to take a day off and to enjoy the beautiful garden and swimming pool.
The staff is very hospital and helpfull and frequently asking if you are comfortable.
This accomodation is also suitable for visits to Capetown but you need a rental car to reach the town.
A very nice place where we hope to come back in the future.

We recently had the privilege of staying at this amazing guesthouse for 9 nights.

The continental breakfast spread was exemplary and super fresh.
The rooms and communal facilities (such as the pool) were as described and all maintained to a very high standard.
I loved their honesty system, where you simply noted what you took from the bar or mini fridge in your room.

I would highly recommend this place to all types of travellers.

This guesthouse has beautifully appointed, large and clean guest rooms. We stayed 5 nights in the silver suite which has its own entrance and a small garden - ideal with a toddler. Breakfast is good and the views from the property are absolutely stunning. Ivanka and Louis are very welcoming hosts and, together with their team, add little touches here and there which are more than what you would normally expect in a guesthouse (e.g. turndown service or a farewell greeting). The service is a little slow at times and varies from day to day, but hey, TIA ;) The price performance ratio is excellent - we would come back anytime! Thank you Dreamhouse team!

A wonderful accommodation that has it all - beautiful, well maintained rooms, a magnificent view over Hout Bay, delicious breakfast and great hosts. You can tell that the owners, who live on the property, pay attention to detail. This was the nicest property we stayed at during our trip to South Africa!

We stayed 2 nights before flying home. The steep approach to the house and rooms is not ideal for the older or unsteady traveller, with many steps. However, Ivanka and her team were most helpful during our visit. The Orange Room lacks space for many clothes, but has a large bathroom, and a terrace, though no sun on it, which was fortunate for us as it was extremely hot, but that meant the room stayed cool. Lots of other rooms to choose from, many with sea view and balcony. The pool by the pool bar was very clean. Extraordinary garden on many different levels with lush vegetation. The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and yogurt, meats, cheeses, fresh avocado and assorted breads. And the views of Hout Bay over to Chapman’s Peak are amazing.
