After a recommendation from friends, we extended our winelands trip and spent three (3) wonderful nights at Courchevel Cottages - specifically 'Heart of the Horse', with our two dogs. The cottage was absolutely lovely and suited our needs, including space for the dogs. Unfortunately the weather did not play ball (very cold and very wet!) and so the marvelous looking 'wood heated' spa bath (outside) could not be put to good use. The views from the cottage were awesome with easy access to some lovely walks. We could see the house keeping was of a high standard (generally) and the arrival experience very good. Fresh herbs were even delivered for our own use. Both the out door braai and indoor fire were put to good use and other than one kitchen item (requested and received) the kitchen set-up suited our needs which can be particular at times. The only let down - which must be mentioned, is that the fire wood received on arrival was wet. Care had not been taken to keep the wood dry prior to the rains at that time. The wait for more wood was a bit lengthy and then that too, was wet. Jonathan did do a great job in building two large fires for us, but the second night returned the same issues. It took ages to get the fires going. A request for more wood on the final night (in the hope it would be dry) seemed to fall on deaf ears and it seemed one party was blaming another. This unfortunately left a little bit of a sour taste in our mouths. Accountability and the service around the provision of wood (which must be paid for) needs to improve in our opinion, based on our experience. However - we can highly recommend Courchevel cottages and visitors will not be disappointed with the overall experience, location and style of the establishment!

Looking at the photos of Courchevel cottages we were very excited to book Pinotage cottage which had a gorgeous looking sunroom -sadly the outside door , didn't close properly and this room was cold and unusable when the wind blew ( most of the time in the cape!) The kitchen was very basically equipped and there was drain smell we battled to get rid of in main bedroom .We didn't spend much time here so we coped but considering the price we would have done better to stay elsewhere. The beds were really comfy and the location lovely . A bit of TLC and some communication with guests would probably sort the place out!

Uitkyk Cottage is one of the self-catering cottages available for rent on this working horse farm. It is the only cottage with a TV, but doesn't have DStv. We were lent a dongle which we could sign into to use our various streaming logins, which was great. This cottage has two bedrooms. One with a queen bed and en-suite bathroom that has a shower. There is also an aircon, but even though it was blazing outside, the room is pretty cool. The other room as two single beds. The second bathroom only has a bath. Because it's on a horse farm, there are lots of flies, but that's to be expected. Cans of insect spray are made available. When the wind doesn't blow, a braai (barbeque) can be had outside. If the weather isn't good, there is also an inside fire/braai area, which we ended up using. The farm has a pool that is available for use by the guests and we were invited to walk around the farm freely. We spotted two doggies (friendly) and two cats. I'm sure there are many more animals on the farm, including the horses. It was a great little place to stay in.

I absolutely loved my stay here and would highly recommend it... from the beautiful surroundings, horses, hiking and friendliest dog and cats roaming around, Courchevel offered me just what I needed. They have thought of every detail to make your stay a wonderful one (thankfully even provided doom in the cottages because there are quite a bit of flies- which obviously is to be expected)... and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I'm definitely be back!

DO NOT STAY HERE!! CATFISH IMAGES!! I booked the place for a romantic getaway. The price was very similar to some really high quality places nearby. When I arrived at the place, the accommodation was horrible. The wall had a patch that looked like it is moldy an not aesthetic at all like in the image. The windows were not clean, some cracked! There were several bugs inside the light fixture above our bed. The curtains have 2 different curtain designs hanging and looked terribly cheap. The wall behind the stove was oily and not clean. The bath towels smelled old and musky and there were SO many flies in our bedroom. I understand you're at a horse riding location but surely there are some standards, especially at the price we paid. It felt like the owners spend more time focused on their horses than on looking after their guests. After politely telling the owners we are not happy and not what we had expected, Nicole tells me she will make a plan for refund. I politely said we would be happy to take another room or we will stay our first night and happy to look elsewhere for our second night (a happy compromise, or so I thought). I receive a call from the one partner. He goes on to hear my story and will see what he can do. I receive a call again from him saying the collective owners (I believe it's the mother in the end) will not give a refund and we "can stay or go, it's our choice". Unbelievable way to treat your guest! We would have appreciated anything that was a hospital solution, hell a bottle of wine to apologise. I, of course went on to explain how everything was not up to standard. The man came to our room to inspect everything. Unbelievably, he tells me that they already cleaned the windows few days before for previous customers (so clearly we weren't important enough). After leaving, he again SMSs saying we will not receive a refund. We stay the night since we blew a good penny on this horrid place and were going to try make the most of the setting. After an unpleasant night of so many flies landing on us while we slept, we tell them of the unpleasant sleep and could they make a plan for us to sort the room. While we were away, he brought us a candle and sprayed the entire room with Raid only for us to come home to a floor FULL of flies uncleaned. Honestly! Save your money and go elsewhere!

We had a wonderful time for the weekend celebrating my dads 70th birthday, even though it was extremely hot weather! Jonathan at the horse stable was amazing and so accommodating with my daughter for horse rides - excellent service and very knowledgeable about the beautiful horses. Thank you! We will be back!

Franschoek is lovely and the view from our cottage was amazing. We were met by the manager who said that he lived next door and would be available for any help we might need for our week there. However the next morning he disappeared - never to be seen again! We actually never saw anyone for the whole week we were there which we found very strange. We would have thought the owner would have come to welcome us??

Dear Ann Thank you for staying with us . Sorry that we didn’t visit. Due to Covid we prefer to keep a low profile with our guest and we had a worker with flu. We all where just a phone call away. Hope you enjoyed the wine and that all will get back to normal soon. Kind regards Sonja

Courchevel exceeded our expectations, of a Family Franschoek Getaway! The place is absolutely lovely. Coenie and Jonathan made us feel super welcome. They made an effort to entertain our children and involve them with the daily horse chores on the farm. Our cottage was very well equiped and had the most beautiful views. I would recommend Courchevel to anyone looking for an idyllic setting, some good horse riding & interaction with horses, close to town and good value for money.

The Heart of the horse cottage have the best view over Franschhoek. The cottage is private and perfect for a couple’s weekend retreat. We enjoyed the Kolkol hot tub. Personal touches from the host such as the handwritten welcome note and fresh flowers made us feel welcome on arrival.

This was our 3rd visit to Courchevel cottages and it was as good as ever. The views are stunning the cottages beautiful and spotless and the hot tub was an added bonus. The accommodation is dog friendly so we can take our fur baby with and had the resident Great Dane and cat visit regularly.. We will be back again!
