Auberge Clermont is a luxury guest house situated at the foot of the Franschhoek Mountains, on a picturesque wine and olive farm. Just a 10-15 minute walk from town, its position offers you the laid-back peace and quiet of a working farm with the bustling local high street virtually on your doorstep. Tastefully decorated rooms each reflect the tranquility of peaceful surroundings. Rooms offer mini-bars, coffee machines and tea trays; with small extra touches to make your stay even more enjoyable. Climate control in each room includes air conditioning and under floor heating in winter to ensure your utmost comfort. Free high speed wifi is available in all the rooms, the self-catering villa and the public lounge - which is also where our delicious Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and award-winning olive oil are available for purchase. In summer, delicious breakfasts are served in the courtyard under a grand old oak & in winter guests dine in the breakfast room. If you feel like taking things slowly, laze under another old oak tree with a book,or by the pool, whilst enjoying the incredibly beautiful scenery. Or, you could go for a gentle stroll amongst plum orchards, olive groves and vines to where a gentle brook winds its way across the farm. If you're feeling slightly more energetic, a game of tennis might just do the trick. Of course, we offer advice and recommendations on the best places to visit in the valley and will provide you with everything you need to find your way around town and to wonderful local wineries, restaurants and places of interest. Our dedicated team looks forward to welcoming you!

To start with the location is fabulous, you're literally on the vineyard at the foot of the mountains. The views are incredible and the smell of the lavender right outside your door is heavenly. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and are luxurious and yet comfortable and inviting. Everything is of very high quality and it's obvious that great care and effort has been put into everything and all the little details that matter so much.

We were met by Angela who was lovely and welcoming and shown to our room, in which we immediately felt at home. There's a huge, comfortable bed, chic furnishings and a large patio where we can sit and enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink. The bathroom is also large and very well appointed, we loved the his and hers sinks but didn't use the bath, favouring the large shower. The supplied toiletries were very nice and the towels were luxurious and plentiful.

The property is a short walk from the town itself, meaning you can enjoy the excellent restaurants and bars without worrying. We took a wine tasting tour and when I asked to book a taxi Angela even offered to drop us off herself, which gives you and idea of how well you are treated here.

Breakfast was tasty and cooked to order with a great buffet selection and everything you could want. Coffee in the room was good and there was a great selection of teas and drinks in the mini bar. All of the amenities were very good and you relly do have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Overall this is a great place to chill out and relax, there's loads to do in and around Franschhoek but it's wonderful to return "home" at the end of the day and sit on your balcony watching the fantastic scenery. Truly a little gem of a property!

We have stayed at Auberge Clermont in March 2021.
What a beautiful place! Ideally situated just few minutes’ drive from Franschhoek city center (close enough to enjoy the restaurants and bars but far enough to be away from other tourists). It is surrounded by vines and offers breathtaking views on the mountains. We were there in the middle of harvest season and the trees were full of juicy and sweet grapes we could just pick walking out of our room barefoot.

We stayed at the self catering private villa that has 3 bedrooms and can ideally accommodate 6 pax. It has a beautiful swimming pool with amazing view. In the fridge we had some fresh milk, chilled white wine and ripe prunes. What a lovely welcome surprise!

Beautifully decorated rooms offer all the comfort you need. The mattresses and bed lined are top grade. Breakfast was succulent with stunning eggs benedicts and variety of food items. And the staff makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive there.

If you enjoy playing tennis, you can do that behind the villa. There is a well maintained tennis court and at the reception you will find all the equipment.

Thank you very much for such a fabulous stay.
We will definitely be back!

Stunning location and so lovely to be out of town (but in walking distance). Nothing was too much trouble for this hotel - we arrived early and were immediately shown to our rooms, even though we were a couple of hours early for check-in, we were frequently late to breakfast but it was no trouble and after we'd checked out we were offered evening showers before our flight home. Exceptional service, very clean and welcoming & a fab breakfast too. We came to this place on a recommendation from friends and will definitely be spreading the news

We loved everything about our stay at Auberge Clermont. The rooms were well equipped with all the necessary creature comforts - Nespresso machine, pods, fresh milk in the fridge and a fabulous bottle of complimentary wine. Sitting on the patio, looking at the beautiful mountains was so calming food for the soul. Speaking of food, breakfast is included in the rate and was delicious. Don't hesitate to book at this gorgeous spot!

This wine estate set in the historic winelands is a gem for a relaxing break and as a base from where to explore the many attractions in the area. Angela and her staff made our stay very special with excellent service and attention to detail. Our en-suite room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated with a spectacular view of the vineyards and the surrounding mountains. The breakfasts were of an exceptional standard with the choices, quality and presentation one would expect of a gourmet eatery.”

We had the private villa at the end with the (cold) pool. 2 bedrooms and a separate annexe. We loved our stay here, the rooms were beautiful with nice touches like a bottle of Clermont red and fresh cut flowers and herbs in all bathrooms. Would have liked some bottles of water and more firewood readily available, but these can easily be purchased in town a 5 minute drive away. It's a 15m walk in the daytime but parking was easy so we just drove. A continental breakfast was laid out on our terrace every morning and someone would appear to take our cooked breakfast order. We could have done with more juice most mornings but this was a minor thing. There were 5 of us and my 16yo had the attic room (accessed by outside stairs) which she loved. The views will stay with me for a long time. Recommended.

This month, we have spend some 10 days in this Auberge Clermont, after staying for a week in Constantia and a week in Hermanus.
Even when Constantia and Hermanus were great places to stay, the surroundings and the scenery of the Auberge beats the aforementioned places. Franschhoek is a great place to stay, but the Auberge is located in one of the best spots of the area; Every morning and every evening, we had stunning views of the surrounding landscape, while experiencing great quietness.
Due to Covid-19, we were the only guests of the estate (those who canceled due to Covid have been missing a great experience), but Angela, a most helpful and gentle landlady had everything organised as if there were multiple guests. We never felt lonely.
The staff prepared marvellous breakfasts, never taking any shortcuts because we were the only guests.
Great place to stay. Well equipped and beautiful bedrooms, super sceneries, maintained swimming pool for just the two of us, ... What else can someone expect to spend some great holidays.
A big thank you to Angela and the staff.

Dear 721christiaank, In these times of very little international travel it was such a treat to have you and your wife spend such a long time with us. We are trying very hard to still make the guesthouse feel like it's business as usual so I am pleased to hear you didn't feel anything different! I'm sure the wonderful artwork you bought in our village is reminding you of South Africa and look forward to you purchasing more on your return visit!! Keep well Angela

We were welcomed by Angela (the owner) she was so helpful with regards to restaurants etc. It was a short walk from the village of Franschhoek but in the dark advisable to use Uber at 28rand.
The gardens were beautiful & being set amongst the vines you really had to remind yourself you were in South Africa not the Bordeaux area of France.
The breakfast was superb served by smiling local girls. On leaving we met Jane who was equally as delightful.
We finished our visit to Franschhoek by going to the brilliant local craft market which is on a Saturday on the Main Street.
Thank you to all making our visit so memorable.

Hi, We currently have a booking over those dates for the villa but you can always check the realtime availability and rates at our website in case it changes. The villa is self-catering while the guest house rooms are bed and breakfast.
