What a wonderful day spent at Boschendal. We began our day hiring bikes from their trail centre and exploring the wider estate where we were able to enjoy stunning views across the valley. We rewarded ourselves with a exquisite, Werf picnic sat in a shady spot under the trees, with a little game of 'Cornhole'. We finished off our day with a red wine tasting session - very civilised!!!!! All of the staff we met during the day were helpful and attentive - a credit to the estate.

We had visited as a couple 15 years ago and had such special memories we wanted to take our children. It didn't let us down. We ate one night in the deli restaurant which was great. Went horse riding which was a great thing to do with the family, really enjoyed it,.as did the kids. Also had a picnic which we all loved, the team running and managing the picnics were absolutely great, food fantastic and loads of it! Ordered take out pizzas for delivery one night, delicious. We had to head off early on the last day and they kindly organised a pack up breakfast. Only slight down was they closed the deli shop early one day for a function but we didn't receive any notice so missed buying some wines. Overall loved it...

Boschendal is a very beautifull wine estate. It has two very nice restaurants The Werf and The Deli. And if you are on a wine estate then you have to taste the wines of this winery. If you ever are in this area, go to here, have a walk on the estate and judge yourself.

Make sure your taxi drops you off at the right place as there are two areas for wine tasting. We had to walk along to the other place but it was a lovely walk but it took about 20 mins. The wine tasting was in a lovely setting (one of the oldest vineyards in the country) - we were lucky that the weather was good enough for us to sit outside. The cost of the wine is also very reasonable. Be aware that taxis don’t really operate in this area so we found ourselves stranded at this vineyard. HUGE HUGE thanks to the vineyard staff who took us back into the town. Thank you ……. Above and beyond !

We had a nice time doing a wine tasting at Boschendal from the Franschhoeck Wine Tram Tour. We were there during South Africa’s winter time, so we didn’t wander the grounds as much as we would have liked to. However, the grounds are beautiful, and we’d love to go back when it’s all green and blooming. The sheep grazing were fun to see, too. We enjoyed our wine tasting; we chose the premium tasting. Our hostess was nice and informative. We liked most of the wines, but we liked the Black Angus the best. It was Father’s Day, and she brought my husband a brandy to celebrate. It was very good! There was no pressure to buy any wine, and it was a relaxing experience. They have a nice shop with some beautiful items. If you do the purple line, definitely check out Boschendal!
