Innovative breakfast menu with good service gave us a good start for the weekend. The view is absolutely stunning and taking a walk in the gardens was a good finish for the breakfast. I would highly recommend a breakfast at La Petite Ferme!!
We stayed over for one night and had dinner. In the restaurant the food and service were extremely good. I am afraid the hotel was well below the standard expected. The internal telephone didn’t work, so impossible to speak to the Reception. The log fire went out and we had no ability to relight, because we couldn’t call for matches or fire lighters. The heated floor in the bathroom did not work. Hot water bottles were unavailable and the room was extremely cold. The only redeeming feature was the view (spectacular). So all rather disappointing.
Nestled in the Franschhoek valley sits a gem of a hotel that could just as easily be in Provence France! Our view overlooks the Franschhoek valley. Sunset was spectacular! Our room also featured a private deck with small personal pool. Food and service are exceptional! From the moment you check in, the staff is there to attend to your every need. Dinner was a fine dining experience without needing to leave. We took the wine tour via tram and enjoyed our day immensely! Would highly recommend!!
The facility, staff and dining at La Petite Ferme are first rate. The view and ambiance is great. It is worth the extra expense to enjoy this quality of a property. Also close to the village and many restaurants will provide drivers to and from dinner.
La Petite Ferme lost its soul! :( After a change of owners 6.5 years ago, it is now only just a place with a stunning view of the valley. But the atmosphere, the kind and great service and the amazing food of the „old“ times, when the farm was run by a family, is gone! We experienced a lunch with the worst service ever. Although the restaurant wasn’t full, we had to wait way too long for every order. Actually we were often not able to place an order because the waiter didn‘t come to our table or didn‘t look at us. Then we didn‘t get the food we ordered. Then we got a wrong bill from another table. Then we received our bill with drinks we did not order and did not receive. All in all we had a very bad afternoon. The food was eatable but not worth the price. It is supposed to be fine dining, but it is technically poorly cooked. Although the restaurant wasn‘t full, we couldn’t order some of the few dishes on the menue. And then the wines: We loved the wines of the farm in the „old days“ when the winemaker was the owner of the farm himself. We considered them to be some of the best in Franschhoek. This time we tasted the Sauvignon Blanc, the Vignoier, the Wikus, the fermented Chardonnay, the unwooded Chardonnay and the Shiraz. We didn‘t like any of these wines. All in all: Don‘t go there! There are many places in the winelands where service, food and atmosphere are much better. Don‘t waste your time and money at La Petite Ferme.…
