Holden Manz Country House garners acclaim for its spotless premises and cozy, art-adorned atmosphere that invites relaxation. The spacious and comfortable rooms are a highlight, although a handful of guests have noted occasional dissatisfaction with certain suites. Exceptional service is a standout feature, as guests consistently feel warmly welcomed and attended to.

After the most wonderful welcome ever (fresh iced towels, comfortable sofa and a chilled glass of the estate wine), the mood was set for a glorious stay at Holden Manz. It delivered beyond our imagination in every single aspect. We stayed in the River Suite - a beautifully appointed space with thoughtfulness at every turn (complimentary wine, a basket with pool side towels, turn-down service at night with the forecast and a chocolate ...and views to die for over the vineyard to the mountains beyond). The breakfast was literally heavenly and served each morning at different tables dotted in and around the house. The feel is relaxed, yet effortlessly styled, and just so beautifully kept everywhere. The owners' passions for wine and art are abundantly evident; the gardens and outdoor pool area are so tranquil, the staff seem genuinely delighted to ensure your stay is truly memorable. A visit to the vineyard for a tasting is a must too! We would heartily recommend Holden Manz and will, most definitely, go back again one day.

We had a great weekend and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is equal to anywhere in Europe where we also love to go. The breakfasts were outstanding with a very generous menu. The rooms we had are spacious, however, this was where we were a little disappointed. The attention to detail is is really lacking, and looking rather tired/old and worn out. Our friends couldn’t get their Aircon to warm after the fire died and had to ask for more firelighters. Our fire went out on both nights and made our room smell of smoke which was most unpleasant. Our bathroom in no 3 has definitely reached its sell by date and could really do with some upgrading. Some bath sheets would really be great, especially in winter.
Despite some of the above mentioned shortcomings which we discussed with Liezel, we would certainly like to return another day as our overall weekend in FH was wonderful.

This is really a hidden gem in Franschhoek! A great experience. Calm, beautiful, good and friendly service. Open fire in our rooms and you could also hear the water waterfall through the door in the rooms. Excellent! We also bought some wines from the estate that was delivered to us e few days later to our home after coming home again.

It was a hidden champion for us. The pool was very nice and there was a free wine tasting for hotel guests. We had ordered picnic baskets, and these were also filled with great care. The guest relations staff were all great, and they read our every wish from our lips.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay here. All of the staff were very helpful and super friendly. Nothing was to much trouble. Even before we arrived my many queries and questions were always replied to immediately. .The location is perfect and the estate is stunning. This is a family run estate and all of the Holden Manz family, including the dogs made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend doing a wine tasting here as they have some amazing wines to offer. The breakfast each morning was delicious and had a great selection on offer. We would not hesitate to stay there again and would totally recommend drinking, eating and staying there.

We really loved this beautiful guest house. It is nestled in the most gorgeous mountains and we had a beautiful view from our room. Charlene welcomed us warmly and gave us a great tour of the house when we arrived. The room was lovely and we loved the bottle of complementary wine and having a fireplace in our suite. The shower was a real highlight of the room! Just wonderful!
There were just a few small details that could have made our experience incredible such as having the wifi password somewhere in our room as it wasn’t given to us when we arrived. We also thought the breakfast was good but not excellent, perhaps a small continental buffet could be offered before the hot breakfast (with things like fruit, yoghurt, cheese, cold meats and pastries).
Other than that, a really delightful place to stay.

Wonderfully romantic weekend getaway that surpassed our expectations. Location is amazing in the vineyards surrounded by Mountains, staff is very helpful and attentive, decoration is delightful… Delicious breakfast on the stoep facing the vineyards and mountains with cascading clouds. Highly recommended!

Fantastic if all too brief stay at this beautiful vineyard. The management booked the magnificent Protege restaurant for us as well as organising transports to and from the town itself. Room, no.1, was amazing in size and quality as well as views. Breakfast and picnic excellent too. Thank you, we'll be back.

This review's tittle derives from the farm's top wine, Elysium ("Heaven"). Three nights celebrating a birthday-anniversary combo were beyond dreams. From the very warm and thoughtful welcome to the regrettable moment of departure, we loved the place, the people, the wines, the meals and the beauty of the location all with equal vigor. The King Suite was beautifully set out with exquisite Protea flowers and chocolates and was a perfect home for three nights. Special mention is deserved by Dylan, the Country House Manager, who is a natural at running all the details of a top-quality lodge with warmth and unflappability. Anke runs the management overnight with equal charm and a natural poise. Both have an attitude of "no request too small or too great." Franco, Anke's instructor, now ably supports her in her hosting work. Neil over at the tasting room went over the top for us. We asked for a quiet place, to taste wines we had not previously tasted and to enjoy the famous Wagyu burger. He went the extra mile to deliver all. We have long been fond buyers and consumers of Holden Manz wines, but are so pleased to have experienced the fullness of this outstanding destination "out in Franschhoek".

We have stayed in many hotels/guest houses in the Western Cape, and this is amongst the best. Whilst it may not be Babylonstoren, it is not far off. Very friendly staff, a huge comfortable suite, delicious breakfast and a beautiful setting make for a superb stay. When you add the complimentary wine tasting and the excellent restaurant, this represents fantastic value. We will be back.
