We stayed in a Garden Cottage room and this room, the hotel and the whole experience was excellent. We had a private garden area which was beautiful with water features, seating and the wafting scent of jasmine ...... bliss !! The hotel is set in gorgeous gardens full of flowers and herbs. Breakfast was amazing with buffet items and a menu for hot items, made to order and these changed daily. Location is right where you want to be with easy access to the famous 'wine tram' Communication with reception was via WhatsApp which was very useful. The game changer for us was the free mini bus shuttle that the hotel provided so residents to get to and from the wine tram, vineyards and the town. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and it was an experience we very much enjoyed.

Beautiful setting. Apartments were stunning and full of character with real fires! Huge beds and great decor. Staff were so friendly and attentive. Just outside Franschhoek in quiet surroundings. Sat by the pool with a glass of wine soaking up the scenery was perfect

We have recently experienced one of the luxury Villa suites. Overall I think we made a good choice. When visiting the area we now appreciate the vast choice and its tempted to stay at a winery and am sure there are benefits of that too. However we liked the location here and whilst not immediately in the direct town of Francshhoek it was very close. They also offer a comp shuttle service to take you to the tram station or into the Village/town
We ate dinner once at the restaurant and it was good. Breakfast was good too
The massage/treatment facilty is subcontracted but they booked for me and the experience was very good
Other feedback would be whilst the rooms were lovely you could see that certain items would be needing maintenance soon
Our view was that any slight issues were overcome by outstanding customer service. Thank you

We have already been here for the 3rd time because we were so impressed by the beautiful grounds, the service, the great Monneaux restaurant and simply everything...
Unfortunately, this time we had to realize that nothing has really been done since our first visit in 2015. The rooms are now accordingly worn out, so the room can no longer be properly cleaned (lots of carpet, walls crumbling, etc., chipped corners, etc. wherever you look) and that's how it feels too.
The grounds are still visually very appealing, with the individual houses, the breakfast buffet appealing, although the service was so slow and chaotic that it took us over an hour to order something from the "hot menu". And regardless of whether it was the same every day, it was always a challenge to get the right thing brought. And even though we came for 6 days with our small children (1 and 5), they were always "surprised" that we needed a high chair, small cutlery, etc. The hotel's own restaurant is OK, but unfortunately that's all it is now.
In short, the whole complex needs a new coat of paint, then we would gladly come back, but the very high price (!) no longer matches what is on offer!

We had a great stay here in a large Villa Suite with a sitting area, large bedroom and huge bathroom. There are two pools, one heated and one not and we used both depending on how hot the weather was. The complimentary shuttle into town was brilliant and a simple WhatsApp message secured a fast pickup after dinner. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant manager was always available for a chat or to provide more tips and advice on where to go and where to eat. We will definewtly return.

Location immersed in a splendid garden, it is certainly a slightly dated structure but with an inimitable style.
The staff is very kind, even though our English was very scholastic, they helped us with everything we needed, also allowing us to find a romantic surprise in the evening in the room
Through the hotel we also booked a visit to a winery with tasting and also organized the transfer.
The rooms are clean and the breakfast is very good. I also recommend eating in their restaurant, where you can find simple cuisine, with many local products at a medium-low price.

During the final stretch of our South African honeymoon, our travel planner booked us into this hotel. Upon arrival, I was shocked by its decor (almost like a Disney park), basic security and a tiny and dated front desk. Our room, positioned above the restaurant and near a common area, had worn carpets and an unappealing bathroom. After voicing our concerns, our travel planner offered an upgrade to a suite within the same hotel. However, the reality remained that this hotel's quality was more aligned with a 3-star rating. Fortunately, we were able to move to a different hotel to end our trip positively. Given the price difference from top hotels in the area, this should have been evident to our travel planner. She probably just assumed the quality based on the 5-star rating, which feels deceptive. Although staff were pleasant (from our limited interaction) and the location was close to much nicer properties, the pictures and description were misleading. I've attached some photos of our disappointing room. This experience raises questions about hotel ratings and the importance of transparency.

We stayed in a garden cottage (8) for two nights. The back faced Monneaux car park with the main road further on. This was no problem and noise was limited. The front faced the vineyards and mountains, with the wine tram going past every so often. The cottage was delightful. Bedroom and bathroom downstairs with the lounge upstairs. There were outside sitting areas off the lounge and two areas off the bedroom. There was another cottage next door but you did not encroach on each other. Amenities all very good. Our only niggle was that it took three odd minutes to get the shower taps to the right temperature. Every single corner of Franschhoek Country House was picturesque and enjoyable. Breakfast was a feast in itself. Lunch was certainly not needed. The property is on the outskirts of the village but as we were there to relax this suited us.

My husband and I spent a few days here for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! The staff members provided the best service I’ve ever received at a hotel. Always eager to help and drive us to our destinations. Extremely friendly and helpful and I would leave them 6 stars if I could! They are the definition of above and beyond customer service. They arranged so much for us and always made sure we were having a great experience. They make every person here feel special and welcomed.
The entire resort’s curb appeal was gorgeous and always clean. We stayed in their Villa and it was exceptional. The location is also great! Just a short couple minutes drive to the Franschhoek Wine Trams and downtown Franschhoek.
The food was amazing (some of the best food we’ve had) we rarely wanted to eat outside of the resort! person here feel special and welcomed.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to spend time in Franschhoek! Thank you for making our honeymoon so special!

Had a great stay with our 2 kids ,we initially booked 2 rooms but upon arrival we were upgraded to 2 villa suites ,we loved many things about our rooms ,the heated bathroom floor ,the fireplace ,the turn down service with hot water bottles at night ,the AC which can be both cold and also hot to warm up the room ,the location of the hotel was central . Breakfast was a spread & hot dishes can be ordered a la carte ,the hotel grounds are beautiful and the service from everyone was great . We also tried room service from Monneaux restaurant which was very good . There are 2 swimming pools one of them heated and a spa which unfortunately we did not try . Highly recommended to explore the wine lands. Thank you everyone for a great stay Suzan & Khaldoun

Hi,
I think it would be best to speak to the venue as we only spent one night there, independent of a wedding. It is a gorgeous setting for a wedding.
All the best for your special day!
Yes it does offer a shuttle service and they are very good. We used it to go to the petit ferme restaurant one night and also used it to travel into the town. Usual tips apply
Enjoy
Dear Brian B
Thank you for your enquiry. Our standard rooms are either twin bedded (ie two single beds next to each other which, if joined will be king size)
Alternatively you can book a double standard room and their size is queen.
Pleas let me know if there are any more questions as we look forward to welcoming you!
I will also check with reservations to avoid any misunderstanding.
Dear John, thank you for your enquiry. There is no specific dress code, we do however suggest no shorts and open shoes in the restaurant at dinner time.
Otherwise the hotel is relaxed, and being out in the countryside we want our guests to simply enjoy the comfortable surroundings.
We have a young vibrant team and if guests are on holiday it's important to us they can just unwind and enjoy the facilities.
Hopefully we can welcome you one of these days!
There are more places to choose from in the Franschhoek area.
