#6 of 63 Speciality lodging in Franschhoek
La Chataigne Farm is a wine farm with cottages set 7km outside of Franschhoek Town in the winelands. Our guests have a choice of three quaint Riverside Cottages, set within metres of the Franschhoek River, and two contemporary Stable Cottages with mountain views and private pools. All of our cottages are self-catering with an open plan living area, fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and bbq/braai facilities. The Riverside Cottages have north and south facing veranda's and share The Orchard Pool for hot summer days. The Stable cottages have spacious decks with private pools. All of our cottages offer a tranquil space for a relaxing getaway. Guest are welcome to walk along the river bordering the farm, meander through the vineyards, soak up the sun at the Orchard Pool, enjoy a game of boules at sunset, and pick vegetables and herbs out of the Garden. End off your day relaxing on the stoep (verandah/patio) and sipping on a glass of wine from the very vineyards spread out before you.

Very private cottage. Beautiful setting with a gorgeous pool area. Very efficient service. Lovely to walk around the vines. A little way out of the town but that's what makes it relaxing. Look forward to returning.

We loved staying at La Chataigne. Having stayed in Franschhoek on many, many occasions over the last twenty years, staying in Noir Cottage was by far the most relaxing. It is is in a perfect location looking out over the mountains. The self catering room had everything one needs for a holiday stay. Will definitely be returning.

We stayed with our 7 year old son in cottage Marron. An oasis of tranquility and peace (except for the squirrel jumping up and down the trees). A fully equipped house with a lovely covered patio with bbq/fireplace, next to a small river. If we could have bought the cottage we would now live there.

We have booked the Chestnut Cottage for 2 nights. The cottage but also the whole premises is beautiful and very neat and clean. We were warmly welcomed and cared for by the team. La Chataigne is ideal for excursions to the wineries. Also the pool is great for staying and we booked John for a taxi service. He picked us up directly at the cottage and brought us back safely in the evening. He told us a lot about the region and next time we would book him as a guide!

My wife and I stayed in the Noir Cottage for 3 nights in early February 2019. The facilities are of the highest quality, the plunge pool lovely. Your own gas braai. Who could ask for more. The wine from the estate was great. Only a short drive to the village and several nice vineyards
