Nestled among the scenic Dieu Donne Vineyards, Maison Montagne has charmed reviewers with its tranquil and stylish atmosphere. Such a beautiful property inside and out. Sadly we spent most of our stay in the pouring rain so weren't able to appreciate the amazing view until just before we were leaving and the clouds disappeared! The rooms were out of this world - spacious, tastefully decorated with lovely linen, a fridge, coffee machine and in our case, incredible views with a small balcony. As for the bathrooms - wow! Huge! We had a shower and a bath (with welcome small touches of a candle and bath salts), a heated towel rail and his and her basins. We could not fault the accommodation at all - it was perfect! The breakfasts were extremely tasty and cooked to order and the small cold buffet with croissants, fruit and cheese was a good accompaniment. We loved this guest house and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I highly recommend Maison Montagne- extremely comfortable, clean and upmarket accommodation with unbelievably friendly staff who were always willing to go above and beyond to do anything that they could to improve our experience. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, the bathrooms are pristine and very modern with a wonderful shower and bath, and the communal pool area has wonderful views of the valley. The breakfast was also excellent! We loved our stay so much that we even extended it for another night as we didn't want to leave.

We had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Vineyard Cottage. It is so secluded, peaceful and has such a beautiful view overlooking the garden, vineyard and mountains. The cottage is so well equipped with everything and more that we needed. The bedrooms are lovely and spacious and each bedroom has it's own bathroom. It was always so well cleaned for us everyday and the biggest bonus of all was the generator that kicked in automatically during the load-shedding which made our stay so comfortable!! I highly recommend staying here if you have a family and it's such a short drive from the main shops and restaurants. We loved our stay and will be returning in the future!!

We stayed for two nights and I was disappointed with breakfast. If you read any other of my reviews then you willl know that I’m very fair. On checkout we were asked to pay a surplus as a towel had Make up on it. I had noticed a sign in room warning about a possible charge so I was extra careful. This is definitely a scam……beware. Thank goodness everywhere else was lovely I definitely would not recommend .

We stayed at this property as a base to explore the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch area. It is perfectly located with a magnificent view of the valley amongst rolling vineyards. This small renovated heritage farmhouse is very comfortable, and perfectly clean with all the amenities you will need for a few days stay, just a short drive from Franschhoek main street. Our suite was very large with a huge bathroom, all in great condition with a view out to the valley. Karim offered wonderful hospitality taking care of all of our needs, including a varied and generous breakfast. The small pool overlooking the valley is a great benefit on hot day. I would definitely stay here again as it is an intimate and comfortable place, nicely appointed without pretensions.

I booked 2 nights at Maison Montagne as part of a visit to Cape Town. Immediately upon arrival, I wished I had booked a longer stay. The accommodations were extraordinarily exquisite and the setting in a vineyard with a view of the valley was absolutely serene. The culinary skills of the women in the kitchen was only exceeded by their marvelous service. As a native Californian, I have taken considerable pride in Napa and Sonoma. I must admit that my experiences in California pale in comparison to the Franshhoek Valley. My only suggestion is that Maison Montagne provide bicycles to its guests. I would have loved riding down to the Centre of Town after breakfast to shop and to jump on the Wine Tram/Train.

We absolutely loved our stay at Maison Montagne. The rooms and bathrooms are welcoming and extremely spacious, clean and tasteful and there is an authentic Cape farmhouse feel without kitsch - wooden floors and black and white bathrooms. The views are great and we enjoyed a generous wine-tasting experience next door. The coffee machine in the room and fresh milk is always a welcome touch. A perfect touchdown after a day of exploring Franschoek.

This place is amazing, fantastic view (as the guest house is on an elevated hill, at the foot of some amazing mountains). Breakfast is amazing, you can have your wine tasting on the Dieu Donne Vinyard which is adjutant to this fantastic place. Franschhoek town centre is not far, we even walked back from there, but at night we took Uber and drove. The staff in the guest house were amazing and we got very friendly with the care taker who is a lovely guy. The place is on the pink line of the Wine Tram and the bus even picked us up from there and we walked back in the afternoon as we enjoyed it so much. Its impossible to describe how beautiful is Franschhoek and the beautiful journey we made from Hermanus through the mountains, it’s a must visit for anyone who loves South Africa.

Don't hesitate - book it. I promise you will not be disappointed. This is a very charming property on the Chamonix Estate. Yes you do need to drive or Uber yo may of the Franschhoek restaurants but the vale and location make it well worthwhile. Very lovely staff,

can confirm above; Maison Montagne is located uphill - hence, it's a nice walk uphill when coming back from town. Highly recommend a rental car to have more flexibility.
There are more places to choose from in the Franschhoek area.
