My partner and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Maison Montagne. The rooms are incredibly beautiful, comfortable, spacious and super stylish. We loved the little patio out front for an apéritif. The complimentary wine tasting was a lovely touch and the complimentary bottle of wine/mcc by the pool was very much enjoyed. The pool area is beautiful with breathtaking views of the valley and vineyards. The breakfast is delicious and fresh. The service is helpful and friendly but not stuffy and the rooms are cleaned every morning. This boutique hotel is situated about a 5 minute drive from the centre of Franschhoek on a wine farm (Dieu Donné), which allows for peace and tranquility. Thank you again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Maison Montagne. The rooms and bathrooms are welcoming and extremely spacious, clean and tasteful and there is an authentic Cape farmhouse feel without kitsch - wooden floors and black and white bathrooms. The views are great and we enjoyed a generous wine-tasting experience next door. The coffee machine in the room and fresh milk is always a welcome touch. A perfect touchdown after a day of exploring Franschoek.

We had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Vineyard Cottage. It is so secluded, peaceful and has such a beautiful view overlooking the garden, vineyard and mountains. The cottage is so well equipped with everything and more that we needed. The bedrooms are lovely and spacious and each bedroom has it's own bathroom. It was always so well cleaned for us everyday and the biggest bonus of all was the generator that kicked in automatically during the load-shedding which made our stay so comfortable!! I highly recommend staying here if you have a family and it's such a short drive from the main shops and restaurants. We loved our stay and will be returning in the future!!

What can I say, this really is the getaway of all getaways. A magnificent place to stay with the most attentive and kind hosts. The view is like a fairytale, the rooms are beautifully immaculate, and the care and kindness from the staff is second to none. The location is brilliant, and although it was great to see the nearby restaurants and wineries, you could quite happily stay relaxed by the pool for days. Amazing stay and a highlight of my trip to South Africa. Couldn't thank the staff enough, just wonderful!

We loved staying at Maison Montagne. Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the property was close enough to get to town easily, yet far enough up the hills to create an incredible view. On top of all of that, we were treated to plenty of wine to drink throughout our stay, a delicious breakfast each morning, and rides to local attractions (no need to drive home from wine tastings). We will definitely be back.

I highly recommend Maison Montagne-
extremely comfortable, clean and upmarket accommodation with unbelievably friendly staff who were always willing to go above and beyond to do anything that they could to improve our experience.
The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, the bathrooms are pristine and very modern with a wonderful shower and bath, and the communal pool area has wonderful views of the valley. The breakfast was also excellent!
We loved our stay so much that we even extended it for another night as we didn't want to leave.

We stayed at this property as a base to explore the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch area.
It is perfectly located with a magnificent view of the valley amongst rolling vineyards.
This small renovated heritage farmhouse is very comfortable, and perfectly clean with all the amenities you will need for a few days stay, just a short drive from Franschhoek main street.
Our suite was very large with a huge bathroom, all in great condition with a view out to the valley.
Karim offered wonderful hospitality taking care of all of our needs, including a varied and generous breakfast.
The small pool overlooking the valley is a great benefit on hot day.
I would definitely stay here again as it is an intimate and comfortable place, nicely appointed without pretensions.

We stayed at Maison Montagne during our 5 week trip around South Africa, and it was by far the best place of all the ones we visited. The service was outstanding, the room was luxurious and spacious and the views were spectacular. I would like to especially highlight the service. We were travelling with young children, and while there was not a dinner option, the staff created a special dinner menu for us for our stay, so we did not have to go down the mountainside to town in the evening. It was just a bonus that the good was some of the best we had the entire trip.

Big thanks to the staff from Henny, Morten, Olivia and Theodor. We will definitely be coming by again, the next time we travel to South Africa - and for more than a week next time.

From the moment you step onto the stone steps of this beautifully renovated guest house you feel like you're in heaven. Maison Montagne is by far one of the best places I have ever stayed and fantastic value for money.

We arrived to a beautiful brunch on the terrace with a stunning view of Franschhoek. We sat by the pool and were treated to the most amazing service by the staff. Nothing was a problem and we were so well looked after.

There is plenty to do very nearby if you can bring yourself to leave - although we could happily spend hours just relaxing in the lovely space.

Roca and the tasting room boast the same breathtaking views and are walking distance from the guest house.

The rooms feel spacious and elegantly decorated with lovely attention to detail. We didn't want for anything and the managers are so helpful and lovely to talk to.

I can't recommend this accomodation enough - you won't be disappointed.

Lovely staff, breathtaking views and very relaxing. 10/10!!!

How far of a walk into town would this be?

can confirm above; Maison Montagne is located uphill - hence, it's a nice walk uphill when coming back from town. Highly recommend a rental car to have more flexibility.
