Detailed Reviews
If I could give this accommodation 4.5 stars, I would. It was so near to perfection but there were a few small details that could have been better. This is a new establishment so I'll detail them as constructive criticism so management can have them resolved.
The good: Lovely, modern property with private bedrooms. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Furniture was new and very hip. Lis, the owner, was incredibly warm and helpful. Breakfast was delightful (especially the little individual fruit salads, cute glass pots of tea and scrumptious English breakfasts). The pool was clean and enjoyable to spend a late afternoon after wine tasting, and the little cabanas were fun to relax in with a book.
The not so good: Our room did not have air conditioning or a fan. While it was not very hot during our stay, Franschhoek can be sweltering in the high of summer. As such, every room should at least have a fan for circulation. And before someone says "open a window," there was not a window in the bedroom, just big French doors that led out towards the road so could not stay open overnight. Second, the toilet paper holder was about to fall off the wall so we had to remove the paper from the holder and place it on the floor instead. Third, we did not receive a key to our room from the main hallway of the hotel and therefore had to access our room by entering the main hotel lobby, exiting into their yard and then entering our room from the outside of the building. This was not a problem except for when we arrived late from dinner and the side door from the lobby was locked for the night. We got it sorted but it was a little concerning for a moment. Finally, two pillows on our bed were a bit flat and lumpy. All other bedding felt new and luxurious so I'd suggest updating these old pillows to match.
All in all, it really is a great place to stay in Franschhoek and I'm confident that with a few more guests all of the kinks will be worked out. I'd happily stay here again as the experience is lovely, the property is beautiful and the location is unbeatable.

Maison du Cap is a small hotel just behind the Main Rd in the very centre of Franschoek. It is walking distance from all the major attractions and restaurants, including the Wine Tram.
Our room was really comfortable and cool and gave out onto the terrace and the pool with its comfortable beds.
Breakfast was really excellent with a great selection of high quality items and a freshly cooked english breakfast.
The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful and there is private off-road parking.

We had a beautiful 2 night stay at Maison du Cap (too short, of course)! Annamaria and her staff were amazing; very attentive and helpful. Breakfast is a masterpiece and the afternoon lemon-poppy seed cake is most delicious. The room has a door right off the pool with very easy access to town and all the wineries in the region. We are so sad to leave today! Thank you for everything!

Quaint guesthouse beautifully done. Huge rooms and bathrooms. Very comfy beds. The receptionist and all the ladies are so so lovely. The breakfast was devine. It felt like u were visiting a family friend we felt so at home. The fire in the dining /entrance is a lovely touch. Close to everything. Special touches like the bottle of wine in your room and the make up removal cloth adds that extra something! Can highly recommend!

We had an amazing weekend at Maisonette du Cap. The Cottage, with its 2 double beds, lounge area, magnificent mountain views, and outside courtyard, was a perfect room for a girls night away. The guest house has great facilities for both summer (most rooms open onto the pool), and winter (beautiful indoor and outdoor fireplaces), all within close walking distance to the high street. Thank you to Maleficent and her team, for taking such good care of us and all the attention to detail. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved this beautiful guest house situated just off the main street of Franschhoek and within walking distance of restaurants and the wine tram terminal. Room opened out to the garden/terrace/pool. The housekeeping and hosting skills of the "team" were excellent. Breakfast served either outside in patio garden or inside. Good choices for freshly cooked hot dishes. Beautifully furnished interiors. Parking for all outside

We recently stayed 3 nights at Maison du Cap and everything was perfect from start to finish. The property enjoys an ideal location within a 5 min walk of the Main Street, provides dedicated parking and has a beautiful pool area. Our room was spotlessly clean & very well equipped but it's all the small things that make a stay at Maison du Cap special. From a complementary bottle of wine on arrival, to afternoon high tea and home baked cookies with breakfast, it genuinely felt like you were valued guests rather than transitory customers. Making all this come to life were the awesome staff, all of whom were welcoming, professional & clearly loved what they do. We'll be back for sure :-)

We spent 4 nights here. We stayed in the moonlight room. It was lovely to have direct access to the swimming pool. The room was very comfortable. The bed extremely comfortable, luxury toiletries and the breakfast was amazing. The option of free cake was subliminal.

We had a very comfortable stay at Maison du Cap. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a 1.5 year old with us and we were well accommodated. The breakfast was very good. The location is very convenient for walking around Franschhoek.

From start to finish we couldn’t have asked for more. Lovely rooms, lots of really nice touches and extras, great service from Millicent and her team, an extensive breakfast, a roaring wood fire, and ample parking. It’s a shame that the weather was so rubbish, otherwise we would have made use of the pool and outside areas. Very highly recommended.
