A fantastically nice boutique guesthouse that we fell completely in love with! We had three nights here at this charming place and absolutely loved it. It was laid out for breakfast on the veranda with white linen tablecloths which made it feel so luxurious. Nice breakfast with fruit, berries, good bread, yogurt etc. and that you could order hot things like scrambled eggs, bacon etc. from the kitchen. A fantastic start to the day in every way. Nice beds, nice staff, a well-maintained and beautiful little garden with a fountain and also a small pool just right to cool off in. Nice thick mattresses on the sunbeds. We would love to come back here!

For us the Macaron was perfect. A two night stay after a glorious but franetic wedding party. It gave us the perfect peace and calm to slow down and recover our energy ready for our next trip to a safari on the Eastern Cape.
The welcome was informal and professional, the garden, a series of beautifully crafted and stocked interlinking external spaces and our room straight off of an interior designers drawing board. While the Macaron is not quite as swanky as the frontages of some of the boutique hotels on the main drag in town, it is still extremely classy but livable and all the more relaxing for that. Sometimes a top top end hotel make you feel ashamed to unpack your creased non designer clothes. That's not the Macaron it is smart but friendly, somewhere where you can relax amongst the fountains, peer through the papyrus reeds and luxuriate in the sea water pool.
The breakfast spread and outside seating was a delight and the staff so attentive to our morning needs. So if you want to relax in a garden paradise and not worry about not having packed the right Gucci slippers go to the Macaron

My husband and I stayed at Macaron Guest House for 2 nights on our honeymoon. It was perfectly located right off the main road in Franschhoek, but very quiet as well, you could not tell that you were in the middle of the main area of town. The location was perfect as we were able to wait to the local coffee shop and dinner at night.
Not only was the location great, but Nadia and the other staff were so friendly and hospitable during our stay. The rooms were equipt with all the amenities one would need, and the nespresso machine was perfect to have an early coffee outside before breakfast.
Breakfast was also magnificent, as the tables were dressed in linen promptly at 8am, regardless of how many guests were staying. The food and service were also wonderful!
Lastly, I want to add that the overall appearance of the guesthouse was to die for! The indoor area was super trendy and minimalist, while the outdoor areas were prestinely kept and complimented the views of the surrounding mountains. Should we find ourselves in the area again, we will certainly be revisiting Macaron!

From the moment we started the process of booking our short stay at Macaron, we experienced exceptional service. Nadia leads a carefully selected and well trained team who all go out of their way to ensure your every need is met. The guesthouse is located in a quiet street but is only a short stroll away from the many fine dining restaurants and attractions of Franschhoek. The main house is a beautifully maintained Victorian building and the rooms are large and extremely well appointed with comfortable bedding and fully equipped bathrooms. The property is beautiful with two swimming pools and many relaxation spots to sit and enjoy the environment. Breakfast at Macaron is a treat and can be enjoyed indoors or in the garden if the weather permits.
All in all, we had a wonderful time and will most definitely return in the near future. Nadia, thanks to you and your team for all the arrangements you made to ensure our short time at Macaron was so enjoyable!

We stayed with friends at Macaron Boutique Guest House in September. The rooms were very comfortable. It is only a five minute walk to the High Street, so perfectly placed to explore. The ladies helped us book taxi's, tuk-tuks and gave us advice on places to eat. The grounds are very well kept, it was a shame we couldn't enjoy the tasty breakfasts outside, it was too chilly. Next time! Many thanks to all for a lovely stay.

To start with the location is on a quiet road and private parking on the side. We had room 3 with a king sized bed, which was more like a suite with it's own French doors and chairs overlooking the 2nd garden and pool. It was perfect for us. Nadia, the manager, and her team were most accommodating with any requests we had. They couldn't have done more. Breakfasts were a cold buffet and freshly cooked eggs etc. The chefs and other staff managed well during any loadshedding. We didn't notice anything different. It was handy for us to have the Eskom loadshedding app for our month in SA so that we were prepared for lights out ! As others have said the B and B is very convenient to the High Street and many restaurants and shops within walking distance. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for everything Nadia.

I have had a most unpleasant experience with this guesthouse in the first week of August 2024. The guest house had an arrangement with a third party to sell vouchers for a stay at the guest house. I obtained the same voucher which this guesthouse refused to accept. The Manager Janet Roets seemed to look for every reason not to honor the voucher. What was supposed to be a pleasant birthday excursion was suddenly marred by the crass attitude displayed by Manager and what clearly seems to be deceptive marketing. Thankfully, at an additional expense I found a most comfortable, well-appointed and rather pleasant establishment in the Franschhoek that went out of its way to make my day special

What a delightful boutique guest house. We were doing the wine tram so thought it best to stay overnight after. Right from our arrival, the staff were a delight. So helpful and kind. Helping with our wine booking and even booking us a table for dinner (French Connection - excellent!)
The property itself is an old Victorian property which has been carefully renovated as this gem of a guest house. Our room was beautiful with all amenities and the comfiest, largest bed. The gardens were an idyll of tranquility with lots of seating and quiet corners and pond. There was also a beautiful pool area with comfortable loungers. Sadly the weather was not kind so we were unable to sit in the gardens or use the pool. Next time!
Breakfast was delicious with a cold buffet, freshly squeezed orange juice then tea with a cooked choice. Cooked and served by two lovely ladies.
The property itself is just off the main road with shops, restaurants, village maker and galleries on your doorstep.
A truly fortunate find with only 9 rooms so a friendly home from home ❤️

Macaron is the perfect boutique hotel situated in the middle of town albeit in a side street so that noise levels are very low. The place is historical and has a lot of charme & character, the rooms are tastefully decorated, the beds are comfortable and all amenities are available. Breakfast is served outside if the weather allows and is super tasty. Staff are very friendly and helpful - I can't recommend this place enough!!

Lovely little jewel in a quiet street with lots of magic and attention to detail. Loved the tiny little pink fresh flowers, fresh milk in the fridge, really good coffee, chocolate biscuits, thick, fluffy towels and robes. Beautiful bathroom with heavenly products and breakfast made with love and a warm smile. Thank You for a special treat, Nadia and team.
