We spent the weekend in a two bedroom Orchard Cottage.
We were blown away by the cottage. It was so tastefully decorated and it had absolutely everything we needed in the kitchen.
We had friends staying in another cottage and we even had a little barbecue at the cottage to avoid curfew restrictions.
The views went on for days. The farm is magnificently maintained and the kids loved running around and playing.
Our only tiny issue was the service in the restaurant that needs improvement
I won’t be looking to stay anywhere else in future.
La Cotte is definitely the best place to stay.

My husband and I stayed in one of the 1 bedroom cottages at La Cotte Farm and I hands down have to say it is one of the best accommodations we've ever stayed at! We've traveled all over the world and at some very luxury hotels and this place is on top 5 list of favorite hotels! The view, pool, decor, location, breakfast, etc all were incredible. I could move into that little cottage!

Our cottage was clean, had everything we needed, very spacious, the bed was comfortable, pool was GLORIOUS and the view in the morning of the surrounding mountains, WOW! I'm still dreaming about jumping in that pool after a long hot day of wine tastings.

Its centrally located and just short walk into the main street of Franschhoek, yet you feel like you're in a garden/vineyard oasis! All of the spaces - breakfast area/restaurant, check in, gardens are just to die for and so beautifully decorated.

Our biggest mistake was not staying longer! We'll certainly be back and sending all our friends and family to La Cotte Farm. Feel like this is really a "hidden gem."

The cottages are so quaint and each is fully equipped and has an outdoor area leading to a shared huge pool. A drive from the town through La Cotte so you can’t really walk to town but the farm is secure and safe. The rooms were beautifully set up, lovely toiletries, and while we didn’t use the braai area outside, it is perfect for summer evenings. Our cottage had beds on a mezzanine floor and the person staying in the downstairs room heard every footstep but other than that, it was great. I’d definitely stay there again.

We were spoilt rotten by very attentive and friendly staff from the moment we arrived. Our double room with en-suite and lounge overlooking the vineyards and mountains (pool-side room) provided great comfort and privacy. It's clear great care has been taken in the furnishings, interiors and artworks in each room.
The gardens on the entire farm have been curated to perfection and its definitely worthwhile taking a long stroll to explore this hidden paradise.

I stayed the second time in this beautiful accommodation. They interior is beautiful set together and make you feel automatically at home. Everything is planned to the detail. The terrasse with loungers and coffee table allows you to enjoy the view and your own pool promise a very relaxing stay. For those who don't want to prepare their own breakfast is a new restaurant at the property. I will definitely back very soon

La Cotte Orchard Cottages exceeded expectations on every level! The cottage is beautiful, clean, spacious and homely. The location is brilliant, literally a short walk to the main road of Franschhoek. The service was excellent. Even though Covid-19 regulations meant no physical contact with the team, Cassandra was still very attentive and available for anything we required.
I cannot recommend this establishment enough and my hubby and I will certainly return at the first opportunity!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and the setting and ambiance could not have been better. La Cotte is beautiful. The gardens and property are lovely to walk around and relax in and I cannot recommend more highly for someone who is looking to experience Franschhoek but also have a nice place to relax at in between all the great wine and food. We enjoyed spending time at the pool in the afternoon and breakfast each morning on the terrace with a beautiful vista was stunning.

The kitchen handled celiac (gluten free) needs. The staff was not as knowledgable about the needs (we needed to remind on multiple occasions about GF = no bread) but we had made a note before we stayed there and they had given us gluten free snacks in the room. Breakfast was always Celiac safe, it just took some more coordination on our part to ensure that it was communicated to the kitchen. In all reality, this was no different than any restaurant back home in the states, so it was a relief to have delicious food that was Celiac safe.

Highly recommend.

Franschhoek is spoilt with so many beautiful places to stay and eat, but for me La Cotte really could be the ‘jewel in the crown’. Nicely tucked away, but still ideally located conveniently for the surrounding abundance of amazing restaurants and boutique shops.
It feels very authentic. Beautifully preserved and stylishly renovated farm buildings, but not flashy.
We stayed at The Forest Cottages situated by a sizable swimming pool and ‘braai’ entertaining building.
The rooms were comfortable and tastefully furnished.

I really enjoyed the breakfasts and the setting is wonderful with stunning views over vineyards towards the mountains.
The service was friendly and attentive.

I would love to return.

We had a three week trip visiting several very high end hotels in SA, but this is perhaps one of my favourites with a genuine warm welcome and service!

We had a short two night visit, however next time we still stay longer. We had a lovely welcome from Denver, and were shown to our mountain view rooms (room 7). There are four rooms in a row (5, 6,7 and 8), each with back doors that open to a private terrace area accessing a lovely grassed area with beautiful mountain views (perfect for your morning workout). The rooms were generous in size, and had a lovely old world feel, but with all the facilities you would expect. There is a wood fire in the room which would be fabulous during winter. Bathroom was very large with nice products including bath salts. The pool was cool but refreshing as the weather was very hot. Breakfast was absolutely delicious each morning, and we chose to sit outside enjoying the specular views. The Croque Madame was delicious.

The service was some of the best we have received in South Africa. Every single person was absolutely delightful. However a special mention of the wonderful Denver (who personally dropped off our washing on his way home to ensure we had in back in time for our departure), Wendy who cleaned our room and Alvin & Precious at breakfast.

Some of the things I also loved, the restaurant on site is open for lunch so if you need a day to relax, you don't even need to leave the Farm. Drinks can be delivered (wine/coffee/cocktails) by calling reception, and you can also organise for a massage service to visit your room. The grounds are beautiful!

An absolute delight. Can't wait for our next visit to La Cotte Farm.

TIPS:
- A car makes it easier to explore the area. The main street is approx 10/15 minute walk way from La Cotte, but a lot of the restaurants/shops are at the other end of the main street, so would probably take 25/30 minutes to walk.
- I personally preferred the Mountain View rooms over the Pool view rooms, as I preferred the privacy. The pool rooms directly open on to the pool area, so the when sitting on your terrace there is little privacy from the pool users and also the potential noise from the pool area - but many people would be happy due to the proximity of the pool.

We had a wonderful stay at La Cotte! The rooms were very large and so nice decorated, so we asked for the name of the interior designer. Bathroom were also large and had both shower and tub plus floor heating. The view and the garden was so beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast and lunch great. It was only a few blocks down to Franschoek main street and all shops and restaurants.
