Very accommodating. Excellent staff. Breakfast was always delicious. Location is perfect, just outside of town. Very nice pools. High ceiling rooms allows for more spacious feel. Bathroom was good space and room was very well climate controlled We stayed at basse provenance on property but visited Manor house since family was also staying there.

We stayed in the Manor House, upon arrival we enjoyed a wine tasting from the Rickety Bridge collection with cheese platter and it was truly amazing, the room almost felt like another honeymoon. Love the European style of the rooms, from the wine names on the door to the attic windows in the wooden sealing of the rooms.

The breakfast was 5 star! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Staff was friendly and so helpful.

Thank you for an amazing stay at the Rickety Bridge Manor House, it was truly a great start to our holiday.

Fantastic two night stay made better by an upgrade to there sister property the Rickerty bridge winery.
The service was first class , food extremely good .the hotel is part of the wine tour so the Tram stops the entrance to the property. They have some of the best wines I have tasted at a very reasonable price.

A lovely traditional house, in a handy location for the delights of Franschhoek. The service was lovely. Tania was very accommodating when we arrived early and sat us by the pool with a tasty brunch and a bottle of wine. Lovely clean room with a well stocked mini bar. We would definitely stay here again.

As the title says this property gives you the opportunity to step back and live out a few days in this gorgeous Cape Dutch Style House.

There are only three bedrooms in the property, one downstairs and 2 in the eaves. The rooms are massive and come with a bedroom area and bathroom which is big enough to swing a whole lot of cats in.
The breakfast is served in what is the old kitchen and wow what a spread. The two ladies were awesome and made breakfast genuinely the best meal of the day.

This is genuinely a nice place to stay and what makes it better, its on a vineyard, so you get a free tasting. I think the young lady with the crazy hair's name was Keke, but she was awesome and genuinely an asset to the place.

the one thing however to note, there is no dinner served in the restaurant so do what we did, ate crisps and biltong and drank wine. A little secret, there is a small amount of sherry in the main lounge, but this is only for your ears no one elses

Would deffo recommend this to stay especially if you are doing the wine tram, its on one of the stops, so you will be able to simply stagger into the wine room.

We had a weekend stay recently at Basse Provence and there was an overwhelming smell of mould in the room (Jacob room), so we slept with the windows open and the air purifier on. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The guest house is in need of an interiors update and is not as pretty as in the pictures. The staff were amazing though, helpful and hospitable. We enjoyed the breakfast. On departure, we told the guest house manager about the mould and were offered a discount on a future stay.

Outstanding service and hospitality from Tanya and Martha! Beautiful, historic Cape Dutch country home, just outside town. A hearty breakfast is served in the old kitchen next to a wood fire. Highly recommended.

Rickety Bridge winery and accommodation is world class. We stayed in the manor house in Chardonnay room and were absolutely blown away by the friendly welcome, caring touches by Martha, not to mention the most delicious and well presented breakfast (and I'm a chef). If you are looking through these reviews to make up your mind about staying here, just do it, you wont be disappointed. The booking process, wine tasting, lunch and special tasting hosted by the winemaker Mari was truly amazing.

We loved the luxury room, well stocked mini bar, pool and other amenities with restaurant and wine tasting on the doorstep.

Franschoek is one of the most beautiful places in SA and Rickety bridge adds to the character and beauty of the region.

Do yourself a favour and stay over.

Having stayed in six different places within Franschoek over the past 15 years, the Rickety Bridge Manor House is our clear favourite.

Its setting far off the main road, amongst vineyards and against the mountain, is magnificent. The Manor House has only three bedrooms (all of which are extremely spacious), giving one an enhanced sense of privacy.

Tanya, the Accommodation Manager, is always so obliging in attending to our varied requests, whilst the staff generally are friendly and helpful.

The breakfast is superb and the swimming pool is private and a great place to chill during the day.

Leonie met us warmly and showed us to our spacious room under thatch. It was very comfortable with everything we wanted without any fuss - perfectly appointed. The breakfasts were delicious and service attentive without being intrusive. Leonie was very helpful and introduced us to the neighbours to buy peaches. We will be back!

Hi there. Children older than 12 are welcome at Rickety Bridge, which is small and intimate. At our sister property Basse Provence, we are able to accommodate children of all ages.

Hi there, Rickety Bridge is 3km from the centre of Franschhoek. It is on the R45, on the right. look out for the large white sign board immediately after Basse Provence. Turn right and follow the road over the bridge, across the river, to this hidden gem.
