Location is great as you can access park from 530am outside stays is 7am. Staff are amazing we stayed outside for 3 nights then inside and every day we went in we were meet with helpful smiles. Accommodation is what youd expect from a game park not flash, our cabin stunk of bats urine we enquired and it is apparently an issue they have, my wife woke at 330am to see a bat swooping me in bed. I'd recommend heading staying outside at Kgalagadi lodge personally

We enjoyed our stay at Twee Rivieren and thought the camp itself was great. The pool was the biggest of all the rest camps and it was a nice place to chat with other guests. We really appreciated the Lion's Den restaurant after 8 days of cooking/braai-ing! I'm a vegetarian and wasn't hopeful about the menu, but they had a section of veggie options. I particularly enjoyed the greek salad and veggie breakfast. Service wasn't the friendliest, but to be honest that has been our experience of SAN parks in general so we weren't fazed. We found game viewing around Twee Rivieren to be the best in the park (maybe because you can drive up both riverbeds). I appreciate that it's a lot of luck in the KTP but we saw something interesting and different on every drive.

There are also a lot of birds around camp and worth walking around looking up at the trees.

At first, we were thrilled with our family cottage (#24) as the air con worked well and was 24hrs, the fridge and water was cold (unlike Mata Mata and Nossop), and we were the last cottage in the row so had a bit more privacy. We did wonder why there was foil around the beams and we soon found out...my husband turned the lights on at 5am and 4 bats started flying around us. The foil seemed to drive them mad (the light reflections I think). We both like bats and weren't that fussed about them at first (after the initial shock!), but that changed when the droppings starting falling on us whilst we were in bed. We asked reception if we could move and we tried 2 other cottages, but both had bat droppings in. The receptionist was very apologetic and honest about the fact they had a bat problem at the rest camp and she couldn't say for sure that any of the cottages didn't have bats in. In the end, we stayed put and left the lights on in the bedroom all night so they flew to the kitchen and roosted there.

Can't say that I would want to stay here again in future unless they have an effective (and humane) way of dealing with the bat problem, or do something about the thatched roof as apparently they get in through gaps in the thatch. It's a shame as the game drives around TR are great! We did see a new wilderness camp being built in the area so that could be a good option for future stays.

We were welcomed to our chalet by a couple of mongoose. They were super curious about the car. The chalets are great. My daughter was freaking out because there was a bat in the room. I slept well knowing that at least no mosquitoes would bother us. The shop is well stocked, especially when it comes to booze. The restaurant leaves a lot to be desired but it was good enough for a light meal when we were lazy. The pool was fantastic. Clean, sparkling and the water like warm from the sun. The lounge chairs were perfect for chilling out while the kids were in the pool. So our routine was wake up really early. Go on a game drive, stop at a picnic spot for brekkie, finish the game drive, then swim the rest of the day and chill out.

Friendly, sandy campsite resulting in an ideal source of information regarding advised routes, animal sitings, and war stories. Adequate hot showers and a well-stocked shop. Ideally located to explore the southern reaches of the Park.

Many people think that when you visit Kgalagadi it's best to go from rest camp to rest camp. We could only find accommodation at Twee Rivieren 3 nights in a row, but it exceeded my expectations. Accommodation is fantastic, the restaurant has really good food, and we had the comfort of one base (travelling with kids) and exploring from there. There is a waterhole a short walk from Chalet 1 where you can see the most amazing sunrises. We explored the roads to Nossob and Mata-Mata without any timing problems.

Well run rest camp. We camped one night, stayed in a chalet another and used the pool and restaurant. Pool was clean, the chalet was spacious and clean - no bats! And had good utensils and big fridge-freezer. Far better maintained than Kruger NP has become. The restaurant is basic and with one server but they were friendly and helpful - ensured we had cold beer! We find it useful having the restaurant option. Swallows visit the pool for a drink, thousands of bats around and saw wild cat and the resident Verraux's eagle owls in camp and the area is productive.

Our visit to Twee Rivieren was excellent and enjoyable. I am writing the review to comment on the very positive sunset drive we had under the guidance of Mr Heyns (I missed his first name). He was very professional and knowledgeable - he made the trip in cold weather worthwhile. Thanks a lot.

This was our least favorite stop but fortunately we only spent one night there. Accommodation was odd (dining room table in the main bedroom and twin beds in the kitchen), but it was neat and clean and suitable for our family. Unfriendly staff (except for the reception ladies who checked us in.) It has a very small swimming pool which we avoided as it was crowded. Overall, it was a pleasant stay for a one night stop over.

Kgalakgadi itself is a hidden gem. we flew from johannesburg to the town of Kimberley then an easy 2 hour drive to Twee Rivieren. Beautiful little camp, well kept, and great service from staff. The following day we moved to the central part of the park and ended our tour in Namibia. Incredible experience!!

Chalet itself was the most boring of KTP, technically OK! And we saw even couple of african wild cats front of our braai before sunset - not to mention several birds. And even cape cobre just by the camping area fence!
Chalet was clean and had the best shower of KTP. Some chalets seem to have tricky / limited parking spaces, but our #23 was good on that sense.
Very good for first or last nights, starting point to deeper areas of the Park.

I like numbers 1 to 8. View of sanddune. The higher numbers are closer to the petrol station, shop and camping ground. No real bad ones though....
