My family and I enjoyed being there . The flower garden and rooms are excellent. We were also impressed by the free use of wi-fi. Most hotels and lodges do not offer free use of wi-fi. Workers at this place are kind and friendly to customers.

They gave us a wrong room, bottom instead of upstairs and didn't apologize. The downstairs rooms you can't sleep past 6am because you can hear all the stomping upstairs. They advertised that you can extend booking per hour but when we requested they were too busy to let us extend till 12. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, poor customer service, horrible communication skills, just bad. Bad. Perfect facilities worst employees

I enjoyed my stay, generally happy with everything - nice and quiet as well..

The taps at the basin were both blocked. Could be calcium or blocked filter

The room privacy is compromised by the wooden shutters being used instead of curtains. Feels like a dungeon when closed during the day. Plus it did not close properly as the one slide on the left top is not aligned with the slot. I would prefer curtains.

A missed opportunity. With a great location and well-rounded facilities, Tamboti falls short on delivery. Although their breakfast could have been great - with tasty mushrooms, perfectly prepared poached eggs, it must the dirty tomato sauce bottle and poor quality juice that left a horrible taste. The cheap "dairy snack" just added to the nightmare. Fruit yoghurt is the answer.

The room, on the right side of size and design, was marred by a stained bed cushion that the cleaner insisted on displaying showing the soiled side. The underbelly of the toilet seat is yellow on the rim and I twice left this up to show that it needs to be properly cleaned or scrapped. My efforts were in vain. Did I tell about the terrible stink that I walked into on my 1st day? I had to empty the airfreshner just to mask the unwelcoming smell.

And to top it all, horrible shower experience. The shower head, the water flow, complete disaster.

Last but certainly not least, the owners smoke outside, just a few inches from the reception area, with cigarette smoke rising to the dining area above. They leave cigarette butts at the entrance, totally disgusting!

That I stayed for full three nights is not a testament to the greatness of the place, but a lack of choice.

Arrived around 4 pm having departed our lodge in Kruger at 0530 that morning. Just wanted a cup of tea and to relax. Property looked good and in pretty part of town but a bit out of the way. Lady at reception apologised that they were unable to provide dinner as per our reservation. She said they do not cook on Sunday's. I made this reservation 9 months ago. Another lady appeared I presume to be the owner. She said told me they could not provide dinner because the Chef was taken to hospital 2 days earlier. She said she sent me an Email the previous day. Not much good if you are travelling. When I did read the email it said her Chef had a personal family tragedy. Yet another excuse. Her only solution was to send us to alternative accommodation. She assured me it was as good as hers and cheaper. I reluctantly agreed. It turned out the Hotel was 15km back towards Kruger. I wanted to be in Tzaneen. It was no where near the standard of her property and I had to re negotiate the price down. This was a disgraceful way to treat customers. She does not deserve to be in business.

We recently stayed here for one night when the boys had to participate at a sport event at Hans Merensky School. Facilities were clean with very nice pools to relax in. Although it was load shedding the generator kicked in and everything worked fine. Comfortable beds only complain is room 19 (which was a twin booking) does not have a bathroom door for privacy.

Food was good although we ordered medium rare steaks and received the well done.

The receptionist was very friendly. I enjoyed checking in. The room we booked wasn't the best. It had animal poo in the bathroom. The roof has windows just above the bed, we couldn't really sleep through the reflection even after switching off the lights. We were woken by the sunshine through those roof windows, that wasn't nice at all. Walking across the room was also a mission as the wooden floors were making noise and sounds. The property itself is clean, with friendly staff. We'll just choose a different room next time, now that we know better.

The lady at reception could have been a lot more professional. Generator ran until 01:30 in the morning… so I had almost no sleep. Breakfast was served outside on one of the coldest days of the year. Breakfast itself was also cold.

The room was great and I received an excellent response. The food pack was a wonderful touch the next day . The quality of the room and facilities was much better than expected . It was a loadshedding night and unfortunately that impacted WIFI and charging of computers .
