Nothing was too much trouble for Marietjie - from pre-trip route advice to the personal farewell making sure everything was in order. The room was spotless and one could not find fault with anything. Breakfast was delicious and the beautiful, well tended garden provided an extension to the restful environment that St George’s provide. It’s a real gem and my parents (whom I am posting on behalf of) highly recommend it to others, and wish to return and explore the area more from there.

Clean, quiet and comfortable. Looks out on a beautiful garden. Marietjie, the host is friendly and welcoming. Her daughter runs Magnolia Bistro next door within walking distance, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast. We were very happy and surprised with the food and service. The people are wonderful!

We stayed at St George's Guest House on our way to the Kruger National Park. It was the perfect spot for an overnight stay - well-appointed, comfortable and set in a beautiful garden. The bistro next door does a decent enough dinner. although it was not open for breakfast on the Sunday morning we left. Marietjie is a gracious host and was able to provide information on breakfast options in town. A perfect base to explore Tzaneen (it's a couple of kilometres out of town) or for an overnight stop.

I was traveling with a friend for a wedding around the area ,we travelled all the way from Gauteng meaning it was a 6 /7 hours drive.
When we arrived the lady was kind and welcomed us really we . Overall The venue is beautiful and has beautiful green gardens.
1. Please kindly try make sure you clean the room floors and carpets because we found papers and bugs on the floor. On our first night.
2nd .The following day we got ready & went to the wedding & arrived late(Am's) & our room was not cleaned up, meaning that we still had the same sheets from the night before and towels.
3. Checkout day ,we woke up around 8am and check out was at 10am .As we were packing our luggage bags making sure we don't leave anything behind A Man came to Knock hard on our room door and when I opened the door he didn't greet me back but harshly said it's check out time hitting his watch with his index finger ,his eyes were full of anger and his tone was too high telling us to leave his property. Please tell the Man to speak to the guests with respect he was very very rude his tone was not acceptable his behavior in general. We were very traumatized from what just happened and we were going to overlook everything but after the incident with that RUDE man I decided to give an honest review. We suddenly didn't feel welcomed anymore and started asking ourselves unethical questions like is it because we are Black Africans that can really afford ourselves and lifestyle.
Our last day was horrible because this one person .And still no one immediately came to clean that room after we left the room,I guess we were rushed to get out of the property.
That time we paid a month ahead.

We had a lovely stay at the St Georges Guest House.
The staff was friendly, the room was neat and the owner provided hot water for our morning coffee during load shedding which I found very thoughtful. St Georges Guest House will definitely see me again.

The quite and tranquil surroundings, with birds singing was all I needed to relax.
I will recommend this guest house to anyone travelling to Tzaneen. Our hostess Marietjie, went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Always ready to help and very friendly. The room was exceptionally clean and the staff was always friendly and always available to assist. Rooms are cleaned daily. I was treated as a queen. I will definitely stay there again. The quite and tranquil surroundings was all I needed to relax. Most relaxing 4 days ever.
No complaints at all.
