Had another wonderful time at Injisuthi. The camp sites are well marked, ablutions are clean and sufficient. Take note that there is no power at the campsites. The chalets are comfortable with all the necessary cutlery and crockery for 4 people. Power is only available between 18-00 to 22-00 by means of generator and only for lights. No plug sockets are available. The scenery is unspoilt and it is probably the best place to view Monks cowl. There are numerous hiking trials from brisk day walks to multiple day hikes. The trails are well marked, but a flood demolished the bridge crossing the Delmwhazi river, essentially cutting off access to the trails North of the river unless you cross the river in the water. The weather in the Berg can change suddenly and if you do plan to hike ensure you plan accordingly. The road leading to Injisuthi is not in the best shape. A car with extra ground clearance is favoured, although some people do manage with VW polos and the likes. …
A misty family holiday nestled in the berg with long walks and great swims was a wonderful break from this year. Injisuthi has not changed in the many years we have been visiting and is one of the best family spots. It helps that the price is good compared to the other Drakensberg camps.
So beautiful and tranquil. Very quiet. Ablution blocks very clean. Amazing hiking and lots of them with incredible views and caves and really into the heart of the Drakensburg. Worth the drive. Very well run and organised.
Lovely site deep in the mountains. Basic but comfortable accomodation and wood fires in the evenings. Beautiful walks and staff helpful. There have been previous reviews about the road- they must have redone it because it was absolutely fine in a small polo with low ground clearance!
This camp has chalets with 2 bedrooms. The setting is amazing with a wonderful view of Monk’s Cowl. The bird sounds make for a restful stay, even if you sometimes have to watch the baboons. The staff are friendly and the access road is easily navigated in a standard sedan. A lovely, restful spot.
