No WIFI, place seems to be short staff. You get one persn servincing your breakfast section and preapartions for later functions to be held . We waited for long to be serviced. No phones in rooms was a big turn off. You lietrally have to walk to an unattended recption for everything you need .
Their lodge manager was literally impatuent with anything

Blue Haze Country Lodge takes you away from the busy N3 whilst traveling the busy route. Its traquil location on the shore of the Wagendrift Dam is quite something.Their food was great and I had one of the best rump steaks ever. The only nagative is thta they were upgrading the WiFi and as a result there was no internet service.

The stay was okay. I think Blue Haze Management can upgrade their rooms with having a bar fridge and a aircon in each room. Think of the Protea Hotels - how their rooms are structured. This can be achieved by changing it one room at a time.

I also think that the window blinds needs replacement.

We were placed in a converted garage or a tool shed on the site of the property next to workers for R1200 per night. We demanded proper room and were given one. Room was not clean. Bathroom had hair on the floor. At the restaurant was no one to help us. We had to get our own menus and get ourselves sitted. When eventually a waitress arrived I asked for a chicken mayo sandwich she said they won't service it to me because if they cut the chicken now it will get hard by the next day and they don't want it to happen. Spaghetti dish that my husband ordered was undercooked with sweet Chilli sause in it. Very unusual taste. I ordered chicken salad which came with not fresh lettuce and again sweet Chilli sauce in it. I didn't eat it. At the end my husband ordered 2 cappuccinos and the waitress said they didn't get a supply of coffee and it will only arrive in the morning. We also paid for our breakfast in the morning but decided to leave early in the morning as we were not sure what quality breakfast we will be served. The noise of the gas heater was quite laud as well during the night and we didn't sleep well. The overall condition of the room is slightly run down.

Based on all the positive reviews our stay was not a pleasant one, Perhaps arriving on New Years day in pouring rain did not help, Reception was friendly and prompt check ins were done, the room was good, until you notice small things, our TV did not work, the floor has cracked tiles, and liitle piles of ant nests in those cracks, indicating the room had not been checked or cleaned for a few days, the walls in the bathroom have many cracked an broken tiles and the shower sprayed more water onto the floor than where it meant to spray. All this a pity because the view and the comfort of the bed was amazing. On to the dining area for lunch, totally diabolical they could not get our order right, food was served cold, and the pizza base still raw after waiting an hour for it, and the topping inedible. for the price of the meal a lot more was expected. and very limited staff again excused that it was new years day and people had under lockdown still partied well into the night.

Beautiful setting and great potential. Good service and food. Very friendly. Yet the condition of the lodge needs attention.
The room was nice with a beautiful view of the lake. Yet the room remained cold throughout the night with poor heating.
WiFi connectivity in rooms makes business travel difficult. This is an urgent need.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly. Would definitely use their services again if I were to travel to Estcourt. The restaurant also offered good service. The location of the lodge also allows easy access to the N3

unfortunately my department was billed for food i did not eat and no compromises were reached to assist me with halaal food. of the 8 nights i stayed, 5 nights were without food, but was billed for it. seems rather unfair as i was not able to claim for what i would have spent in getting my own food. dissappointing to say the least and i certainly will not book again in future.
