As avid Eastern Cape birdwatchers we explore every corner of our province to find new bird species. This weekend we visited the north-eastern corner. Where to stay? Well Karoo Nights was an excellent choice.

We stayed in one of the well appointed chalets. We were met by the hostess with a warm freshly baked bread. What a treat! The place was clean and neat and everything that we needed to make our stay a pleasant one was there.

The under-roof braai area was great and the lush garden is an absolute treat as it was teeming with birdlife.

Will I go back? Yes, any day!!

Our second and fourth nights of the Great Karoo Cycle were spent at Karoo Nights. The welcome and hospitality were fabulous, and the meals beyong amazing.
We were made to feel special, and our hosts spent time with us, introducing us to their lives.
Well worth stopping over on your way from Gauteng to the Cape.

Was happy with the service and rooms, we used two, going and coming back from the coast.
I recommend breaking your travels in half and staying here. Farmstyle living and good lamb meals.
Everyone is travelling the same route so great conversations with other travellers.

We stayed over for 1 night on route to JHB, what a pleasant gem in the middle of nothing. The hosts are friendly and so accommodating, nothing is to much trouble. The food is very much home style cooking - dinner and breakfast where great. The rooms are neat tidy and clean as well as the linen. There is a sparkling dam style pool and a beautiful garden to walk in. We will deff stop over again.

Something out of the ordinary and out of the way. It was clean and neat. It was bigger than I thought and was nice to interact with other travelers. The pumpkin pie with dinner was out of this world. I will go back for that.

Sometimes in life you are pleasantly surprised with what comes your way. We booked this B&B on the advise of someone we had not even met but from our arrival we were met with friendliness and enthusiasm to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Special care was taken that our two motorbikes were safely locked for the night. The food was exceptional. We thoroughly used the stunning Karoo landscape for some great photo opportunities . We felt safe to stay there and enjoyed the company of the hosts. We used the same venue for our return trip from the Cape and will again make use of it in future. What was an absolute bonus was the quietness of the area. No noise from trucks and traffic you get from venues closer to the N1.

What a wonderful little B&B with the most amazing hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The food was amazing and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful!

The rooms had everything we needed, and the hosts made our stay so much more welcome.

We will definitely be returning!

Spent a night at this wonderful establishment while traveling from Johannesburg to the coast. Helena and Hentie were wonderful hosts! Helena met me at the top of the driveway. Comfortable room with a small fridge which was a great bonus. Dinner and breakfast are available with prior arrangement, both served at the front of the building that has a comfortable lounge area & small bar. Enjoyed a glass of wine in the lounge before heading to bed.

Pleasant and welcoming hosts but, although roomy, the accommodation is rather utilitarian. Food was average. Was not easy to find as the sign on the Venterstad road had blown down! Car parking is under cover.
