This was our second stay with Kirsten at the Ocean Bay over the December period and will definitely not be our last! It is like a home from home but with complete luxury added in. Exceptional in every way. We extended our stay on both occasions as we just did not want to leave. The infinity pool overlooks the sea and the large, lush gardens make a tranquil and relaxing setting. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bed so comfy and the shower perfect. We had many braai's sitting on our room's private balcony overlooking the sea under the night sky. You have everything you need on arrival but Kirsten goes further than above and beyond to ensure your every want is met. We were even given Christmas decorations for our room! The area is completely safe and a short walk to the beach. If you are looking for a luxurious, pampered and relaxed time by the sea, this is the place to stay. On this trip, some of our family joined us last minute for a few days to see what we were raving about, the little ones had the best time. The kloof and boma area creates a beautiful ambience in the evening. It is the perfect setting for a family, corporate or wedding event. Covid safety was addressed optimally but did not hamper the amazing holiday experience. As someone with sensitive eyes I was happy that the pool is so well maintained and clean that I had no red eye issues and could spend all day in it. Do not be fooled by the reasonable rates, this truly is a piece of heaven. I am so sad writing this review because I wish I was there now!

We had booked for 3 days, and the first 2 there weren’t any problems. On the 3rd we had to move out, because we had plans on going to Cape Town expedited, we payed in full the 2 days and 60% of the day we were leaving. Turns out we couldn’t go to Cape Town and the we stayed one more night in JBay, this time in a friend’s house since we’ve already left the guesthouse. Fast forward to next day, we were having lunch with these friends at a restaurant and the owner of the guesthouse approached us and started yelling in the middle of the restaurant, humiliating us, calling us liars in front of everyone and specially our friends, just because our plans didn’t go as expected. Terrible experience that ruined our day, I don’t recommend staying at the guesthouse if your plans may change suddenly. Extremely unprofessional behaviour.

This is a fantastic family friendly guesthouse, owned by the wonderful Kirsten who makes every possible effort to think of everything and to extend warm welcomes. We were a family of four and had a lovely 2 bed unit with a mezzanine for the kids with a cool ladder up to it, suitable for older ones really. The room was very comfortable with a generous bed & everything you would need including a kitchenette. The pool, the view and garden were the stars for us and our children raved about how lovely it is, in particular the outdoor thatched cabana where you have breakfast. We also had a drama with lost passports which Kirsten strived to assist us with. Lovely people and a lovely place. Kirsten thank you!
