My Husband and I decided to take a last minute family trip to Wildwood this past weekend. During my online search for a 2 bedroom hotel room, I stumbled across Star Lux. I spoke with Bob at the front desk. He was so friendly and helpful with the booking process and even more friendly in person when we checked in. The hotel is in an amazing location, we could see the "WILDWOODS" sign from our balcony, along with the sunrise every morning. The rooms were all very well stocked with essentials, plush towels, dishes, cups, silverware, etc. We could smell the cleanliness when we stepped inside the lobby, again when stepping off the elevator and even more when walking into our room. The décor is very retro and cute, we could tell a lot of thought went into the design, and layout of the rooms. Everything was so clean and every staff member was friendly and helpful. We have raved about the Star Lux to friends and family already. We highly recommend the Star Lux to anyone traveling to Wildwood. Thank you for an amazing Weekend Star Lux and keep up the amazing Customer Service! We will see you in the future!

We had a wonderful time visiting the Starlux for the first time! Theres so many positives, but, to name a few, starting at thefront desk, felt very welcomed, even gave my husband a parking spot m when he visited for the day. Parking spots were very wide open, not like the sardine type at other places, where you leave with scratches on your doors. Also, the rooms were extremely clean , as were the pool and surrounding areas! Oh, and location was great just a block from Wildwood sign and Boardwalk. The price was also very reasonable. Will go back again!!

I really wanted to love this hotel, but the cleanliness of the room ruined it for me. I loved my room layout, and the location is key. I am one of those guests that clean their room upon arrival, and what I found could of been a lot better. The bathroom floor was covered in hairs. The tub had a rubber drain stopper from the 90's that was on the ledge of the tub for so long that there is a rust stain. Due to no drain plug, the drain was clogged up and backing up. (No, I didn't tell the office, didn't want anyone in my room with the virus going on). The toilet seat was way too old. The old fashioned wood doors were peeling wood. These are just simple thing that could be corrected. The hotel had nice wood laminate floors in our room, only issue was they are black. I cleaned up some crumbs, and the wipe turned black. Their floor molding had a slight ledge on it, was covered in years of dust. Thank god the bedroom was clean for the most part!! This room is obviously not properly cleaned. I write this review today, in hope that maybe they will see this and correct their issues and address it with their cleaning staff, perhaps hire a real cleaning complany that can do a deep cleaning every so often. I was excited to see they had bikes for their guests to use free of charge until I got there. The bikes are left outside, covered in rust and the handlebars are misssing the hand grips, "no thank you"!!! Overall, I did like this hotel and may be back, mostly for location and room size.

If you love the retro-future/Googie/Populuxe/Mid-Centruy "Doo Wop" look, The Starlux is a step into a time machine. Located on Rio Grande Avenue, the island's most famous street, and right by the boardwalk and Convention Canter, the Starlux is at the optimal location. What will blow you away even more than the aesthetic is the top-notch customer service. Among them is "Bob", who went the extra mile to contact me when I left behind my camera charger... even though he didn't have my address or telephone number! Bob, and the entire group, is hospitable and treats you like a lifelong friend whom they're overjoyed to have drop in, rather than a motel guest. The rates are very reasonable for Wildwood, and you're going to have a memorable stay.

Never have a bad experience here. From the time you walk in, you are greeted by a friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms are comfortable and the pool is great. They have bikes that you can use at no cost and toys for the beach for the kids to play with. Coffee is available in the am Which is nice if you don’t want to rush out. Also, the hotel is centrally located in the heart of wildwood with the boardwalk just steps away. Love this little gem of a hotel. They will take great care of you here. Give them a try, you don’t be disappointed.

Pros: Bob at the front desk was fantastic. He remembers names, was helpful and friendly at all times. Kind of like a retro resort manager, more than hotel staff.
Property was well-maintained and clean. Loved the vintage, family friendly vibe. Music at the pool was retro and family friendly! Free to borrow bikes and beach supplies, free laundry, fantastic continental breakfast in clean area were all appreciated!
We had a king one bedroom with a pullout sofa. Definitely small for a family of 4, but clean and fine for a short stay. Balcony overlooked mini-golf next door (the resort offers a discount and it was a fun course). Housekeeping was available daily, which these days seems rare. Location was terrific, across the street from beach, boardwalk and walking distance to many restaurants. Plenty of parking.

Cons: other than Bob, we didn't have any experiences with other staff that left a welcoming impression. The bathroom was tiny! Some shelving or storage would be hugely helpful. A small coffee table or ottoman in the living room would be nice for games or snacks. Housekeeping did not replenish shampoo, etc.

Would recommend highly! Thanks, Bob!

Great location! Within steps from the beach and start of the boardwalk. Right across from the Wildood sign. Additionally in walking distance to many restaurants and activities (shopping and mini golf). Stayed here for 4 nights (2 adults and 1 child) in the suite with 2 queen beds, it was ample room for all of us. Pool was great. All the staff was very friendly. I would say the only con is that in the bedroom there are 2 glass block windows that let in a lot of light in the morning. We did stuff some towels in there to help block the light and the mini blinds in there do not block much light either, so we put up a towel nightly as well. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others and we will most likely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Starlux Hotel & Suites. I loved the 50s vibe and the music played in the common areas. Our room was clean and comfortable (with a lava lamp), with lots of dining options nearby. We loved being able to wake up and take a short walk to the beach to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean. We enjoyed riding the complimentary bicycles along the boardwalk each morning, the convenience of the complimentary beach chairs, and appreciated the complimentary coffee. (There was also complimentary boogie boards and plastic shovels and buckets for sandcastle building) The pool and hot tub were clean and there were plenty of lounge chairs around the pool area. The large common room was a bonus; a great place to watch the rain and meet other guests. The miniature golf and coffee trailer were awesome as well. A great big THANK YOU to Teri and Bob for being so friendly and welcoming, and making our stay extra special.

We stayed at the StarLux and it is the perfect place to stay in Wildwood! It’s right across the street from the Wildwoods sign on the Boardwalk. There is a mini golf course on site and a great pool. We stayed in a suite with 2 queen beds and queen pull out couch and there was plenty of space for 5 people. Very clean, friendly staff. They also offer bike rentals and beach chairs, toys to use and return. Definitely will stay again when we return to Wildwood!

Perfect Doo Wop Hotel. Visited in October when the crowds of Wildwood were gone to enjoy Wildwood all to ourselves. Starlux is so convenient walk to the boardwalk and you can use their complimentary bicycles. Don’t miss going to the Doo Wop Museum if it is opened. Truly a gem and it is free but give them a donation so they cccere clean and comfortable and decorated in a retro style. Staff was so friendly and helpful.

Sorry, I missed it. Believe it or not, I don't drink coffee. I took some photos at the conference room for our web site, and I noticed a coffee maker there. If I recall, The Starlux staff serves coffee in the morning for guests. Breakfast is also served in the summer, which is just some biscuits, I hear. Sorry, I missed the window, as I don't check this site often in Wildwood's tourist season. I'l try to be more interactive next summer, to help guests with such questions.

Is the Star Lux dog friendly?

I don't think so. Binns Motor Inn usually has pet-friendly rooms. Their policy changes often, so call them first. Currently Binn's has a 30-lb weight limit, and the fee is $50 per pet per night.
