Arrived at 4:45pm for 4pm (which is Alta ridiculously late check in) check in time. Our $400+ room was NOT READY… front desk used “staff shortage” excuse, manager standing at end of desk could care less… no apologize… not even an offer of a free appetizer for the 3 of us while we wait… THEY DON’T CARE Check OUT time is 11am, even with a staff shortage 6 hours should be plenty of time to turn rooms… the FRONT DESK CLERK told us SHE was going to get our room cleaned and ready… Now 5pm, still no room… or sign of anyone here being even the least bit concerned. I have traveled for 20+ years, 30 weeks/ year or more for business plus family vacations… this place and their attitude is inexcusable. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED… and we haven’t even seen our room yet. IT’s
we never got a confirmation for the night we wanted to stay 8-13-21 and i called the motel the day before and the man i spk to could not verify our reservation and kept saying to go back to the website. today 8-14-21 i tried calling the motel since they charged us 137.00 bucks and the phone line is disconnected, next call my bank claims depart
Extremely overpriced. Stayed on a week night and was sneaked charged $148. The Appalachian motel is not dog friendly and not people friendly. They steal your money. Plus the driveway is a death trap.Stay away from these crooks.
If I could give this motel 0 stars I would. I had read the reviews and I thought it would be a no frills clean and comfortable motel near the Mountain Creek Bike Park. Instead I walked into a room that had stained sheets and blanket, the bathroom had a total of 6 flies flying around with a horrible smell coming from the sink. The sink itself had these time bugs crawling in it. The bathroom blinds on the window were missing several blinds so anyone could look inside while you’re showering (glass doors). Huge read stain on the carpet. 2 pillows that looked like a truck ran over them. Completely disgusting. It was midnight when I checked in and I immediately called the nearest hotel that had a room (Quality Inn), asked for a full refund (they reluctantly gave it to me), and split. I’m literally writing this review while my friend checks into the Quality Inn at 12:30 AM. And the crazy part is that the motel cost $125 per night and the Quality Inn is $149. Stay away from this motel!…
Exceeded expectations in every respect. We stayed in room #1 which was small, but recently redecorated and very clean. The memory foam mattresses and full-size walk-in shower were amazing. You do have a to wait a long time for hot water in the shower, but it does eventually get nice and not with great pressure. The motel sits on a hill with great views of the valley. When you arrive you have to use a phone by the office door to call for service and wait a few minutes for them to open up, but Mieka was super friendly and helpful. Bottom line: if you're looking for cookie-cutter luxury this isn't the hotel for you, but if you're looking for clean, comfortable, and memorable then it's excellent value for the price. It's an older property but well-maintained, the surrounding countryside is lovely and the Appalachian Trail is just up the road. …
