Words can not fully describe the attentative and friendly staff. Anytime I asked any of them for assistance they nearly fell over them selves to help! The King room in the west wing was quite nice, very spacious. We love the town! Best in NJ.

This hotel is overrated. The staff is not friendly. The rooms are expensive and if you want a drink at the hotel lobby bar you need to book it in advance. Do not stay here ! They say they follow covid protocol but only when it’s to their advantage. While the location is convenient and the beach is beautiful I’m sure there are better places to stay.

We love Congress Hall. I have stayed numerous times and it is one of my favorite places in Cape May. I came here with my husband to celebrate my birthday. I was very disappointed and sunrises at check out. We planned to stay the day and lounge by the pool (spending money and tipping well). When my husband went to store our bags he was told he had to take the bags to our car and park on the self parking lot. Okay- not a problem. Not sure why they couldn’t be stored but we understand. Husband gets car, loads bags, lot is full. Rides around 30 minutes and no street parking. Checks lot again, no spaces. Back to a Congress Hall, tells valet who tells him to go park in the lot at the Acme a few blocks away. For a bottle of this caliber, and the usual service we get here, our day alone without kids was turned into a stressful day. Just not what I expect from here. Be warned if you want to make the most of your vacation here. Or don’t valet at check in.

Lovely, charming hotel with expected experience at an aged, historic hotel. This review is purely for the Congress Hall kids 'Blue's Clubhouse' sitter service that we utilized for our 7yo daughter. They crammed eight kids into one very small meeting room (not the ballroom as we were originally told.) They had the kids color at a round table for the ENTIRE NIGHT. We picked up our daughter around 8:30p (3.5 hours) and they had only been offered dinner, coloring at the table and one round of Uno, also at the same table. We have utilized every kids club at high end resorts and this was by far the most lazy and uninspired experience we have encountered. Advertised as "chock-full of awesome activities, games and arts & crafts". The kids were not offered a single craft or game (well, one round of Uno). Incredibly lazy staff. The weather was windy so they didn't leave the meeting rom and had the children color for three hours. LAZY LAZY! First time our daughter has not begged to return to a kids club!

First, most places over the past 2 years have been understaffed, did not detect this at CH. Staff were everywhere and worked long hours. We tried to tip often and heavy as we appreciated it. Service was impeccable. Location, location, location. You are on the beach with a view of the ocean in many rooms. You are just off the main shopping "mall" which is the center of Cape May. You have access to 2 pools and the boardwalk. And don't get me started on the Lawn. Rooms were adorable and made up in morning and turned down in evening, unreal luxury and so nice. Bed and pillows in particular were excellent. Shower was a treat, felt like an outdoor "shore" shower which we love in the summer. Morning paper was delivered every morning and you have a wide choice of papers. We ate at one restaurant (reviewed on yelp) and had drinks in pool and on the lawn all excellent. Being able to charge to the room made life a lot easier. The Grand Lawn is something to behold and alone worth the stay. Sitting in the shade, enjoying the bug free breeze and seeing the wide open sky was an unexpected pleasure. Morning coffee & paper was a true delight. Evenings on the lawn were as well. Honestly the Lawn was worth the price of admission even if we got nothing else. 2 Cocktail stations on the patio serving the lawn had a large selection and were a perfect addition to the frequent live music & relaxing atmosphere Beach service was a treat. Not having to carry chairs or umbrella or towel was nicer than I thought it would be. Plus could order food and drinks at the beach. Again luxury. Room a/c was powerful. You could set it to 60 and pile under the covers if you wanted. Imperfections - very hard to find a glass of water. They have it at the pool but not inside the hotel. Room darkening shade in our room (219) had seen better days and wasn't a perfect fit, so pretty bright in the morning. Come to Congress Hall if you can, you won't regret it.

Room Tip: We were very close to the main staircase and elevators so a bit noisy for those early to bed. Not...
