We stayed one night in Room II with our two greyhounds. The room was small but bigger than what we were expecting. Perfect for our needs and would have made for an enjoyable place for a longer stay. The staff was friendly, communicative and attentive, the breakfast was great

This was our second stay at Highland House. It's not a snooty, romantic B&B by any means, which makes me like it all the better. We've vistied Cape Island for many years, but only discovered Highland House last fall. Generally, we visit during the week, off season, for the

Thank you very much for your very nice review of the Highland House. I'm so glad that you've enjoyed Room II and Room I. I like those a whole lot too. Thanks also for mentioning some of the activities the area offers. Many folks discover the Highland House and the West End of the island by accident but are happily surprised to see there's so many great restaurants and activities. Thanks also for sharing some of the options available to check out if the weather isn't cooperating. I'll be sure to let Mary Ellen and Jenny know that you were asking for Oscar and Oz. Thanks so much! Dave / the Highland House

Thank you for your inquiring. The Blue and Burgundy Rooms do have hardwood floors. The porch attached to the Blue Room is private for that room. There's a fence on all 3 sides of it. I hope I've helped answer your questions. Feel free to send any others that would help with your decision.

What type of breakfast is served...
Thank you for inquiring about the Highland House breakfast. Each day a complimentary expanded continental breakfast is served. The staples served are: coffee, tea, juice, fruit, cakes, cereal. In addition to those we add a variety to the menu. Some days there's quiche, other days there's waffles, other days it may be eggs, potatoes and breakfast meat. We alternate it so that guest that are staying for many days will have a variety. I hope I helped answer your question.
