The Wentworth is a beautiful place to stay. Our family used both the hotel and the condos that are available. We all had a wonderful time. The area has so much to view and sightseeing is perfect from that location. Highly recommend the Wentworth.

Awesome stay. Great rooms and facilities. Jacuzzi was the best best I’ve ever used! It’s very close to Mt. Washington, only 15 minute drive. So convenient! I wished we could stay longer to experience the room more. Looking forward to staying here next time!

We just returned from a 4 night stay at this very elegant country inn. This delightful inn was built in the 1880’s and has been owned and managed by Eleanor Koeppel and her late husband for over 30 years. Eleanor’s love of the property, her staff and pleasing her guests is obvious from the first time you enter the lobby until the final moments when the luggage is packed back in the car and you are leaving. Her office is right off the main lobby and her presence is always visible. This care and attention is obvious on the faces of everyone on the staff: all smiles and a genuine feeling that everyone really enjoys their job and wants to please the guests in any way possible. Probably the nicest place we stayed during our 2-week journey through the White Mountains. As hotel guests, breakfast was included as part of the rate. They were the freshest, tastiest breakfasts of our trip. Delicious eggs. To-die-for crème brulee French toast. Beautifully presented, freshly prepared to order and hearty, huge portions that kept us full all day until dinner-time. We had dinner one evening at the hotel. The 3-course, $42/pp menu was a very good value. Reservations are a must. If the starter course boneless Korean-style barbecue ribs are on the menu, order them! Delicious! Could be a whole meal in itself! The evening we dined, there was an off-menu chef’s special offered: a Peking-style half duck. The portion was enormous! And the mashed potatoes were heavenly! A limited wine and beer selection complimented the menu. A very elegant and well prepared experience. The grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained. The swimming pool looked inviting, but the air temperature was a bit too nippy during our stay to indulge. Plenty of close-by, on-site parking available. All rooms have Keurig coffee makers, fridge, safe, huge fluffy robes and very large 48”+/- TV’s (watched many Tokyo Olympics in our room). There is always complimentary coffee brewing in the lobby. Due to Covid-related precautions and endemic staffing shortages throughout northern New Hampshire, for multi-night stays, housekeeping service is not provided once checked-in. Towels, linens and amenities can be requested daily and are placed in a plastic bag on your doorknob; staff does not enter the room until after check-out. You make your own bed, take out your own trash and keep your bathroom clean to your own personality. We wish it weren’t so, but that’s the way it is these days during pandemic. The inn’s website is very comprehensive with explanations about the various room types available. It is a very old (though renovated) property and no two rooms are likely the same. That is part of its charm. We booked 4 nights in a minimum-rate, queen-bedded room. Our traveling companions were assigned a very quaint room on the third floor of the inn, overlooking the front of the hotel. It was charming and met expectations. Unfortunately our assigned room directly across the hall from theirs was neither quaint nor charming. It was under the rafters, with an impossibly sloped ceiling that you could not stand under, one tiny dormer window with a window A/C unit and a bathroom that looked like it hadn’t been renovated for 50 years! A subsequent conversation at the front desk resulted in a move to a delightful room in an annex building across the street from the main inn that was beautiful and more in character with our friend’s accommodations. We were most pleased and commend Eleanor and her staff for making this change on our behalf. (Note to guests and management: room #318, our original assigned room, should be removed from hotel inventory. It is not of the same quality or caliber as the rest of the property.) We enjoyed our stay. After the room switch, it exceeded our expectations for a classic, 1880's grand country inn. The quiet, beautiful location in Jackson is close to North Conway the natural attractions of Crawford and Pinkham Notch to make this a good base for nearby touring. We would definitely stay at The Wentworth when our travels take us to this part of New Hampshire again. Kudos to Eleanor and her team!

From the moment we first walked in the front doors to the moment we left following a 2-night stay, everything about The Wentworth was perfect. All of the staff we encountered were professional and pleasant. They always seemed to be there when we needed them, and could handle any request. Our suite was impeccably clean, and, like the public areas of the hotel, was both was historic yet modern. The experience with the private hot tub in our suite was better than we dared to hope. The attention to detail was apparent in every aspect of the hotel itself and in the service. Our stay overlapped a wedding with more than 100 guests, and we never felt crowded out or that we received any less attention than the large gathering, which could easily have overwhelmed a facility with staff and facilities that were not as well organized as The Wentworth. The dining room was elegant, yet not stuffy, and the meals were amazing - food that was absolutely fresh and clearly locally sourced, and service to match. I know how much work it takes behind the scenes to make things to run so seamlessly on the front line. There is not a single think I can think of which could have improved our stay. We will most definitely return.

Thank you so much for your recent visit with us and for taking the time to write such a lovely review of my hotel. I am very proud of the work we have put in restoring this beautiful historic building but it is the staff truly that make The Wentworth the hotel that it is today. I am one lucky innkeeper! Thank you again and it would be a pleasure to welcome you back. Sincerely Eleanor Koeppel Owner and General Manager

Overall the facility is wonderful, like any place there is always room for improvements. But it was very nice inside and out and the staff was very nice. The food was good at least for Breakfast which is all we tried, the weekend breakfast changed a bit as far as the quality of the food, not sure why. But other than that it was delicious!
