We had the most amazing experience here! My boyfriend booked here at the last moment and I’m so glad he did. We arrived last night after a late night games Maine. Karen at check in was so wonderful and kind. The chef even went out of his way to prepare salads and got us a blueberry soup! It was so kind of them. The room was gorgeous and the beds were so comfortable! The attention to detail was not missed at all. Gina at breakfast was absolutely hilarious and was one of the best servers I’ve ever had! We are already planning our next visit back in the winter!

We had a quick one night get away here and couldn't have had a nicer experience. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Our room was very well-appointed and clean. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent; service was attentive and friendly. We were even treated to watching a mother bear and her cubs forage for their dinner. Highly recommend!

We recently stayed at the inn for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. From the get-go, when Nancy greeted us at check-in, we felt like we were being welcomed into an old friend's home. Most of the staff also were very warm and friendly. Our room, the Madison (Room 203 -- see photos), was terrific -- spacious and nicely appointed with antique furniture, a Jacuzzi tub, a walk-in shower, and a nice view to the mountains. Breakfasts on the veranda were a highlight. Our favorite choices were a yummy granola parfait and (for an indulgence) a waffle made with pearl sugar (for chewy, crunchy texture) topped off with fruit and real maple syrup. The crew on duty each morning were especially friendly. The one minor quibble we (veggie/pescatarians) had was with the fairly small veggie-friendly dinner menu and, on one night, the slow service (they were VERY shorthanded that night). Though we had some delicious dinners (anything topped with the smoked salmon was especially good), we were a little disappointed that there were only one or two choices each night. Still, what we had was generally very good. All in all, this is a lovely and peaceful spot. If you want a great base for exploring the White Mountains, it's hard to imagine a better or more comfortable place than the Inn at Thorn Hill.

Second stay at this outstanding property in a wonderful location for all seasons. Even in the height of summer travel season, was a perfect place for a twosome romantic getaway. The Presidential Suite is special, well appointed, great view, and quiet. The restaurant is a really nice dining experience, not to be missed. Public areas inside and out are well appointed, and provide opportunity for privacy most any time. Staff is exceptionally gracious, and friendly. The spa was excellent, and a nice add to a romantic getaway. We will be back!

After a lot (!!) of research, we chose this Inn in northern New Hampshire as a quiet getaway in-between visiting our grandchildren. I was captivated by the photos - and all is exactly as (and better than) advertised!! we were warmly greeted (and warned - do not leave food in the car when parking, we are in bear territory). We stayed on the 3rd floor (yes there is a charming old - lovely - elevator), and our room exceeded expectations. Housekeeping was efficient, invisible and kept our room immaculate. There bar, dinner and breakfast were out of this world. The food is truly exceptional. the staff, impeccable, funny, warm and so welcoming. James, the bartender, can make anything, and the mixed drinks all got grand reviews. The best place for us was the delightful wrap around porch, overlooking the fire pit and grounds. It was full of comfy chairs, ceiling fans (it was VERY unseasonably in the 90s when were were there). My husband and I were so very sad to leave after only tow nights, but the Inn was booked when I finally committed. We must find a way to get back there (it is 900 miles from home), so I am plotting another summer trip, and perhaps a winter one. We love this place and her people that much. Thank you for being truly exceptional !!
