Detailed Reviews
Absolutely gorgeous and exceptional location, lodge and golf! Beautiful, well maintained resort with wonderful amenities. The grounds are well maintained and there are fire pits and chairs located throughout the resort for easy relaxation just about anywhere on the property. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable with nice amenities (good sized spa toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, views, comfortable beds, etc. All the staff we encountered were exceptional…very helpful and friendly. The lake views are stunning. In the morning they had a complimentary apres sleep cart with delicious treats and teas.In the evening you can do complimentary smores at any number of fire pits. It was easy to find space around the property to just chill, too. The pool and hot tub are wonderful and they offer free yoga outside by the lake every morning. The instructor was excellent. We ate at every restaurant on the property and had wonderful meals, cocktails, coffees, etc…service and food were excellent. The housekeeping staff were amazing…quietly and quickly serviced the room and made sure we had everything we need…even had turndown service in the evening…nice touch! Valet service was friendly and efficient. The golf was fantastic! The practice area has everything you need, and the course is in exceptional condition. The course is very walkable and beautiful. They have on site water toys for use on the lake for additional cost…like speed boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. This was an expensive vacation, but you really get what you pay for here…highly recommended!

I really enjoyed staying at this resort. Yes, it's pricey, but I think we went at a certain time of year where the rates were slightly less painful than they normally charge. We had a first floor room with a lake view. At first, I was sad that I wouldn't have a balcony and considered asking for a room change, but being able to just walk out the door and being on the first floor made it easy to get everywhere in the resort and in the end, I was completely satisfied with the room's location.
Everything was clean and nice. I appreciated that they do daily maid service and it was done as soon as we left the room it seemed like. Excellent housekeeping staff. The only thing I didn't get that I wished I would have is a new apple cider fizzer bath bomb replaced daily. I had to ask to get another one, but they did bring more when I requested them. I loved having the in room refrigerator to store drinks and the bathroom was huge.
My husband and I enjoyed the pool area several times. Hot tub is gigantic and was the perfect temperature. Saw a nice sunset at the pool. Kids weren't completely running around and remained in check. Drinks at the pool were great and we liked Joe the bartender a lot. We asked him if there was any way we could get some quesadillas even though they were not on the pool menu and he made "operation quesadillas" a GO!
We also had some takeout from The Bistro one night. We got the flatbread pizza and the cheese curds and fries. Neither was very good and we mainly ate at local restaurants while we stayed there which I would encourage. We had good meals at Base Camp Pizza, Riva Grill and McP's Tap House.
Although the valet was quick and efficient, I wish they had some self parking at the resort. It does get old having to tip every time you go get your car to go somewhere. We did have a nice older gentleman that was our bellman that I also saw helping the valet that showed us to our room and told us some highlights about the resort as he did so. I thought he was very friendly and he gave off a good, welcoming first impression.
I enjoyed the champagne at check-in and the resort also provided a full size bottle of champagne in our room since they knew we were celebrating an anniversary. Also, had flowers delivered to the hotel and they were taken care of at the front desk for us until we returned to get them.
The grounds are immaculate at this resort and I appreciated that they had planned activities even though we didn't participate in them. All staff we came in contact with were very friendly--even workers walking to work on the property who were probably not even "on the clock".
Overall, I think this property does strive to have all their guests have a 5 star stay. I would certainly recommend and go back.

The hotel is beautiful and the views can't be beat. Amenities are really nice- the nightly s'mores are great, the beach is sandy with adirondack chairs and they provide towels right before you enter. I enjoyed the morning yoga and there were lots of games and entertainment options available. The firepits and couches around the property were peaceful and warm. Chocolates at turndown and jellybeans on the nightstand were nice touches. The spa was amazing- my massage therapist was one of the best I have ever had (I think her name was Janice). The pool was pretty with comfortable chairs and the servers were very attentive. Thomas the concierge was very helpful and the shuttle drivers were friendly and fast Brook's restaurant was nice but there are a lot of bees if you eat outside. Bistro restaurant was the main disappointment. It seemed very understaffed as it took a long time to be seated, some of the staff was not very friendly and the food often came out wrong. I also think they need an overnight cleaning crew for the resort overall. It wasn't great to pay $1200+/night and come out in the morning and see trash from the night before on the couches and firepits. The boutiques had a great selection of merchandise-including diffusers that were of the scent of the hotel (which was great). Overall a great stay but for the money I do expect a higher level of staffing and service.

We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay, from the stunning views and beautiful amenities to the peaceful firepits and thoughtful touches like s’mores, chocolates, and jellybeans. It’s wonderful to know that you had a great experience at the spa with Janice, and that Thomas and our shuttle drivers made a positive impact on your visit. Your kind words about the morning yoga, pool area, and boutique offerings are much appreciated. We apologize for the areas where your experience fell short, particularly at the Bistro and with the overall cleanliness during your stay. We understand how important these details are, especially when it comes to meeting expectations at this price point. We’re committed to addressing the staffing issues and ensuring a higher standard of service and cleanliness throughout the property. This visit was not as expected. On Friday evening, The waiter at bistro was quick to judge the seating for a party of one. Based on his demeanor and limited engagement, he made it seem like a party of one was not worth his time. I ordered a nonalcoholic beverage and the salmon dish with a Caesar salad to start. He continued to ask very pressingly if I was having wine or cocktail. The food itself was good.
I sat at the bar the next day to have a couple drinks. It was clear the bartenders were not engaging. They did not have an interest in interacting with guests other than serving drinks and taking payment. Very transactional. When asked about a local restaurant and recommendation, the bartender literally said “just google it”. I was very put off when only trying to get a local restaurant recommendation.
Housekeeping failed to arrive to clean the room during the next day of my stay. I contacted the front desk and they were not at all sensitive to my concerns and suggested that the privacy note was on the door - The privacy notice was NOT on the door. I then contacted housekeeping, they said they will send someone right away when it was all ready 3pm. I told them how disappointing this was and asked them to do everything during the turn down service. When I returned after turn down, I noticed that dirty glasses were not removed, dirt and debris remained on the floor - no vacuuming was done. the only things that were done were the towel removal and bedding. This was very upsetting and frustrating. I woke up early the next day and decided to check out early.
The only pleasant staffer was Charlie from concierge. He was very receptive and generous with his work/time. He took interest in my stay and answered all questions. Simple customer service goes a long way and it’s clear that Charlie has this quality characteristic.

While we wanted to love our stay at the Edgewood , we found ourselves disappointed in the level of service, which makes spending over $1700 a night hurt even more! The setting is beyond gorgeous, the lake right there with the forest and golf course all around you . The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. Our room on the ground floor was a nice size , and we loved the walk out patio on the 18th green. We enjoyed several evenings in the restaurants on the resort grounds . All positive vibes until you really try to order a cocktail or a meal in a timely fashion. Or if you like your room tidied up BEFORE 4:30 in the afternoon. Or if you don’t like to sit and wait 20 min for a server to acknowledge you, so as to order lunch. The major problem here , when compared to Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton, is a lack of “sense of urgency”. We found bartenders who didn’t know how to serve a gin and tonic, many of our food orders were served incorrectly and sent back . No service at all in the bar due to several groups of 20 golfers overwhelming the scarce staff on hand. When this was brought to the attention of the hotel manager , she promised a round of drinks to be comped because of the problems at the bar. They were not .
I propose that if you , as a resort, are down 25% of your wait staff/ cleaning crew, then you book 25% less of your rooms! You cannot maintain the level of service without the necessary level of staffing. You sacrifice your ratings and send people like us away unhappy. As avid worldly travelers we would NOT recommend this resort to our friends.

This place was simply amazing. From check in to check out the entire staff was friendly and helpful. The property itself is gorgeous and the lakefront views are amazing. We ate at Brooks Bar and Deck one night and the Bistro the other. Both offered beautiful views and great food. The bartenders at the Bistro did an exceptional job with my old fashioneds and my wife's margaritas. If you have the opportunity to stay here it is worth the extra money you are going to spend. We did two nights at a less expensive hotel and two nights here and when we got here we just wished we had spent the extra money for at least one more night. We only wish getting here from Houston was easier...i.e. there weren't any direct flights to Reno.

My first and likely only One star review given.
This place has been on our bucket list. We booked this place for our mini-moon, immediately after our wedding. Big mistake. I wish we stayed at the Ritz in North Tahoe.
-check in was painless, thankfully
-wifi didn't work for us and no help from IT. As a result, we were forced to purchase a movie for entertainment instead of using the free Chromecast
- our friend paid for champagne and chocolate strawberries to be sent to our room through the concierge service. Never came.
-I am 100% convinced the bartender at the Bistro was drunk or on drugs. He seemed annoyed that I ordered a drink at 8pm. He kept promoting another place that he worked at across the street
-lack of communication between the Clubhouse and the Bistro. They sent us over there despite the clunhouse being rented out completely
Bottom line - incredibly disappointed and won't be coming back.

I am happy to see Alex was able to review some of your concerns at check out and I see he extended a courtesy credit. Also your friend was not charged for the missing amenity. I'm sorry we were unable to resolve in a more timely manner so you could have enjoyed the rest of your stay. All of your observations and concerns have been reviewed with the team for retraining or other measures. We apologize you were not able to experience Edgewood as intended. Perfect location for the 4th of July celebration. Rooms very nice and comfortable.
Poolside dining and bar good food and drink. Golf was wonderful. Enjoyed the Spa. Rented a Mastercraft boat and enjoyed that very much. Required valet parking was time consuming/inconvenient. Morning Rise & Shine was green juice and bite size granola pieces ..disappointing. Edgewood Restaurant food was just okay/service was poor. It was our anniversary, asked for window seat, got a seat looking out a side door next to the bus station while other better seats weren't being used. Won't eat there again. Private beach was great but in the morning chairs were all over the place along with garbage and old alcohol cans & cups. There is only one pool, very packed and the bathrooms are outside the fence and Never used (we sat there for 1.5 hours and watched) so we refused to swim in it.
We are going back for the Golf Tournament and hopeful some of these things will be addressed in the future as this could be a great resort with some work.

I did not finish my earlier explanation. I told Jordan, the housekeeper manager that he didn’t know how to handle it and I was very disappointed in his treatment of me, but that I expected him to go tell the resort manager that the resort would purchase from the gift shop, in other words, pay the gift shop for the two items that were Missing from our room, and there was no other option and that that was the only way to give good customer service to me. He did not say much except to get up and say he would go and check on something back with me. He did not get back with me so I took matters into my own hands and went to the gift shop, it was about 7 o’clock in the evening on a Friday night, the last night of our first day, and we had 8 o’clock reservations we did not want to miss fourth Edgewood restaurant! I asked sales person in the gift shop if she could call the manager, Tracy at home, they had given us a bath and beyond excellent personalized service for several days making our many choices. She called Traci at home and I explained what it happened, she was extremely remorseful and apologetic for the entire resort even though she had absolutely nothing to do with the problem and I told her it was not her fault, but that it was housekeeping and Jordan‘s fault. She instructed the sales Girl to let me pick out the same sweater in the same ring, write a cash receipt, and sack it up exactly the same way as packaged before. Did you during this time cell at the front desk had also befriended my adult daughter and me, he was extremely competent, compassionate, understanding, client service oriented, and he said that the hotel would be happy to pay the gift shop for the two items and for me to go and pick them out and bring the receipt to him. As it turned out they had the same sweater but not in the color that I had originally purchased, so I had to take my second choice color which was disappointing. They had the same ring I originally purchased, but only one left in a size too large for me and I did not want to spend additional money when I got home to have it sized smaller. So I chose another similar ring that was a little more expensive than the original one, but it was the correct size and therefore I’ve paid the gift shop the extra money in cash and took the ring and sweater with me. Again Sal was very very helpful, very very apologetic, and he told me that it had not been handled correctly in his opinion by whoever took the phone call from our room to b

We went after July 4th hoping to get some cooler weather. The hotel was still busy with families with kids, lots of weddings going on and preparing for a golf tournament. I would suggest they build an adults pool. Because of the amount of people I think some of the services were affected in restaurants and the cleanliness of the pool area. The hotel itself is beautiful and has a nice setting, butI would not go back to visit based on our experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the beautiful setting of our hotel. However, we regret that the busy atmosphere and service disruptions during your stay impacted your overall experience. Your suggestion for an adults-only pool is appreciated, and we'll consider it for future improvements. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope you might reconsider visiting us again in a less busy period to fully enjoy what we have to offer.

I doubt it.
This is a high-end property so they are not likely to have a microwave, like a lower-end property might.
Pool is heated and open year round. Summer/Winter will depend of what activities you like to do. Both are great. Summer - swimming in lake, hiking, golf, etc. Winter - skiing, snow, etc. Tahoe is always beautiful.
You’ll want a car if you’re going to a lot of places but the hotel also has a shuttle to the casinos, ski resorts, and main part of town.
No way.. 2 and a gremlin max.
Better places to stay then this one
