I had to go to St Louis for almost 3 months for work. So tried my go to's i.e marriott, IHG etc. I finally decided to try this place. Well I wasn't disappointed. The rooms are big, nice bathrooms, plenty of towels, comfy beds etc. My only beef (and it's a typical one) is that if you get a king size bed you should get king size pillows not a bunch of squares. But I made do. No room service but you can order from one the restaurants near the casino and bring it back. I liked it because they have numerous restaurants on property which take turns on what days they will be open (again due to virus). No maid service either but they will bring you what you need. Anyway - Im going there again next week. Close to my job and never hurts to spend a little time at the tables!
Jodie with the group event planning is so wonderful to work with!! Pre-covid we had an excellent team event at the casino with an over the top happy hour at the sports bar with games and then an excellent steak dinner followed by time on the casino floor! The hotel rooms are out of this world and all the staff we encountered went out of their way to make us feel special! We are sad we couldn't hold another event there this year, but we will be back!
I recently checked in to the hotel and played at the casino only to have a random person with access to my room who entered and stole money from my room and the security acted like this mysterious person was going to be reprimanded and nothing happened. This happened on November 24th 2020. Be aware that people are getting robbed here with the guest getting no justice. Very disappointed, for I come to this casino many times.
I spent one evening at the Ameristar after I finished cycling the Katy Trail. I chose the hotel due to its convenience and secure parking. Though I didn't take advantage of the gaming or other entertainment options, the resort had a lot to offer a traveler like me. Highly recommended! In common areas, other guests and staff were very good about wearing masks. There were frequent hand sanitizer stations. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. The room was huge, well maintained and clean. The bathroom was luxurious. I could hear passersby in the hallway, but it was quiet during the evening hours. The historic downtown St. Charles is a short walk away; there are many shops and restaurants if you want to explore beyond the resort.
We made our way to Ameristar for a girls getaway week - we loved it! This is a big, beautiful resort style hotel/casino that is easily accessible off the main freeway. Lots of convenience around this resort in St Charles - shopping, restaurants and gas stations. The Ameristar accommodations are superb. Our room had two double beds, and a separate sunken sitting area with a separate TV, two chairs and a loveseat - with a beautiful view of the MISSOURI River. (All the even numbered rooms have the river view - odd numbered face poolside) Fridge wasn’t super cold - ice machine was on our floor, no microwave. Bathroom is very large with a separate tub and (private) toilet, separate shower with glass door and double sink vanity area...very nice. Beds were very comfortable and pillows were nice. The restaurants here are great! We loved the FALCON DINER for breakfast - really nice menu, something for everyone. Starbucks coffee is served. AMERISPORTS sports bar was a fun place to watch the baseball game and grab a yummy pizza, some beer and a great Spinach Artichoke dip. ASIA was delicious Asian fare - yummy entrees and appetizers. We tried the DELI later at night as everything else was closed- terrible service and just so-so food - sandwiches and burgers, some soup/salad combos. The two ladies working made us feel like we were bothering them by placing our order. Hotel check in was easy and smooth. No cleaning service (due to Virus) unless requested. We were able to ask for more towels and toilet paper - no problem at all. Pool area is lovely - the water was icy cold, and only had sun from noon until 3:30 pm - indoor/outdoor water temp was the same - indoor/outdoor hot tub was really nice. Lots of tables and lounge chairs around pool area, and a fire pit area which we sat around one evening. Pool hours 6 am - 10 pm. Really a highlight of this resort. The pool bar/grill was closed - but they did allow us to bring in our own drinks - just no glass. Wristbands given out at pool doors by pool attendant - nice feature to keep an eye on who comes and goes. We really enjoyed our time here and felt all our needs were met! The Casino is fun (smoking allowed on lower floor of casino) everyone we talked to was very friendly and service at all restaurants (with the exception of the DELI) was outstanding. The only thing this awesome resort style hotel needs is a convenience store. Somewhere to buy the little things we forget. Toothpaste, tampons, snacks like chips, candy and drinks. Other than that - it’s a great place for a getaway!! Loved it!!…
