I stayed here in April 2022 during my visit to Cape Town. The hotel is fairly modern, the rooms are nice and spacious with a decent view. The design of the rooms is quite interesting actually. As a bonus, the hotel is right next to the mall, so you have a great selection of restaurants and such. Also the staff was friendly.
We waited over an hour for our room to be cleaned after the app told us our room was ready. When we arrived in our room, we were surprised by a nice cheese plate, but it looked like it had been out for a while and was addressed to another guest! The room was not clean. In the morning, all of our towels were wet (stored under the sink). The sink trap had been leaking all night. The most difficult part of the stay was that construction (a full demolition, actually!), began just after 7am in the room directly above us-- we knew that because of the extremely loud noise (could not hold a conversation) and the fact that dust was falling from the ceiling. One of the lights fell out. The hotel desk did not relocate. Their customer service was lacking-- very inattentive and did not even acknowledge guests when they passed the front desk. Could not (would not!) recommend, especially for a Marriott.…
Fantastic service experienced from everyone at this beautiful hotel, especially Laaz and Ronin at the front desk. Personal service and going the extra mile to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Keep up the good work!
The hotel itself is great, the staff were excellent especially Jamie at the Front desk and Michelle in the restaurant. The room was spacious, could do with a sofa and the shower could be a bit more powerful. On the whole great stay and would definitely recommend. An added bonus is it's right next to the 3rd largest shopping centre in Africa
Luxury hotel with poor maintenace. Hotell have clearly been superb, but everywhere you see things with poor maintenance and things from gym, to room to kitschen appliancies are half way appart. Even after pointing it out to front desk, no change. But it is ”said to be solved”. Poor management.
Trendy and “vibey” hotel and decent facilities and service. Generally no complaints, save that the bedding (mattress and pillows) seemed to be passed their “best before” date (worn) and the television hailing from the 2000’s, but all and all would consider staying there again.
There were definitely two staff members that stood out from the crowd and made the stay worth going back again, i will get to the names a-bit later, The room view was fantastic, beautiful, my mom and i shared a room, shower was abit weirdly designed but we both didn’t end up using it , which wasn’t much a biggy, we were both happy just bathing but why did i vote 3 stars? because there was no hand soap given to us to wash our hands at the basin, used the shower gel to wash our hands , glass water bottle was given to us to pour water if we were thirsty which we definitely finished cause we did a full spa day so we needed a lot of refreshments, then the next day came which hand soap was still not put by the basin they only gave us shower gel again which we had to use again to wash our hands, eventually i phoned reception to bring us hand soap ,which they did very quickly they refilled our water bottle but this time not with still water, it was a very gassy sparkling water, i’m not sure if it suppose to be one day still water the next day sparkling but that needs to be consistent, that water that was refilled in there was way to gassy. i like my still water. no sofa or furniture to sit on and have your tea or coffee- there was only one office chair ( for two people in the room) so the one sits on the bed and the other on chair. while having tea or coffee. It felt abit weird, but it was ok i guess cause majority of our time we were out and about. just some pointers to look into. The food was amazing we went to the pool area and ordered burgers and chips for dinner , i had chicken burger which was amazing and my mom tried the beef burger with bacon, she loved it and the food was value for the money you spending like it’s a lot of food for R80 bucks so worth it, we had a lovely evening mom and daughter time… until 3am in the morning came and my mom got food poisoning very bad she was very i’ll. i was up with her the whole morning, put abit of a damper on the holiday for us, we think it was the bacon that was off, she’s fine now she managed to fight it off but please be more careful and stick to stricter hygiene protocols for food and beverages so other guests will not have to go through the same experience. staff that went the extra mile for us on our stay goes to Fikiswa ( waitress ) she’s organized me the best ice coffee , also was always clearing our tables and checking to see if we were good. ⭐️ another staff member that went the extra mile was Sebo /Sibo ( bartender ) from the pool bar , very quick service, drinks were tasty , always happy and you can see he loves his job. Ziyaan the luggage bell attendant was really helpful. overall i will definitely be coming back to the hotel, i had a great time, the staff were friendly and thats worth coming back’…
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, the location is perfect and quite central. The rooms are amazing and extremely comfortable. I stayed for a business trip and thought it was ideal for business travelers. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be back.
Amazing design. But tiny fitness room, basically useless. What’s the point ???… Rooms are weird. They were designed by some crazy designer who lives in another planet. Shower in the middle of the room with translucent walling which makes it very uncomfortable if you’re sharing the room with someone you’re not very close to (spouse or girl/boyfriend). Translucent toilets door (same comment as the shower. And what if I don’t want to wake up the person I’m staying with when I’m going to the bathroom at night ?!!). Bed sitting right in the middle of the room which uses up so much free space. As a result, you’ve only got enough space to walk around the bed and that’s it. No armchair, no sofa so you either sit on a chair or lay on the bed. No reading lights near the bed : you either get blinding overhead light straight down to your face or you can’t read. I have travelled extensively around the world and I have to say I’ve really had enough of this design non-sense that only serves the designer’s ego ! Back to basic common sense, please ! Friendly hotel staff though !…
We found this hotel to be very dark, curtains in the corridors and very dim lighting. The rooms are spacious, but the shower in the middle of the room was a bit strange and leaked all over the floor. Footprints in the bath were also not a particularly nice find given that cleaning is supposed to be scrupulous in these times. No point in having the TV as the choice of channels appeared to be terrestrial and not very clear. There was also no remote to lower the TV. It’s a gadgety room without finesse. The one lovely thing was a delightful waitress called Ingrid who was serving at breakfast. She had such a positive outlook, and made us smile.
