We stayed for 5 days at this lovely hotel and enjoyed its understated luxury with respect to location, room size and clean facilities, views from every room, as well as the welcoming and attentive service of the front line and housekeeping staff. The beds were especially comfortable, allowing for restful sleep. The kids enjoyed the WiFi qualty, and we felt safe in the hotel because of attention to COVID protocols.

It was my first time in a Hotel ever .
The staff were very warm and welcoming from my arrival to departure they had offerred the best service from the security, porter, receptionist and housekeeper. I love them please?!
First time traveller in a hotel or solo vacation ? This hotel is worth the stay and the location on its own is very safe, one can walk around alone to canal walk for shopping or sight see the neighbouring hotels.

The hotel was great and the staff from the guards at the parking area to the reception and waiting staff were very friendly and helpful the room itself was great with awesone views over the city. I would absolutely recommend the Colosseum to anyone. The beds are great and every time we stay there we sleep great and feel well rested in the morning.

Hotel is marketed as four star, but it should be bumped down a few stars. Though some of the staff are very welcoming and friendly, they fumbled quite during our check-in, keeping us waiting longer than anticipated in the lobby area and uncoordinated with giving us access to the underground parking. The porter who took our luggage broke our suitcase handles and offered a sewing kit when we asked about repairs.
We booked a room for two, with breakfast included but the staff at the restaurant that was not communicated to the restaurant staff, who wanted to charge us for the 2nd person.
The WiFi in our room would not connect, the feel of the room was that it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, with dust visible on the dark furniture.
We eventually left prematurely, and found a new place at which to complete our stay.
Overall, extremely disappointed and would not recommend this accomodation.

For a "Luxury" hotel I was very disappointed- on entering our room I noticed that the "rose petals" from whomever occupied the room before where gathered in plastic packets and stashed on the floor behind the curtains. The curtains were frayed and torn - the duvet hold a torn hole in it and the bed throw was dirty. There were no towels in the bathroom. Breakfast was R150 pp and you could only choose a plated meal from the menu given (don't order muesli and yogurt as that will cost you R150 for a bowl) - they offer bottomless beverages but you will bet a much better and cheaper meal at Mugg & Bean. By no stretch of any imagination is this a "Luxury Hotel" other than the price. On a positive note the staff were very friendly.

Unfortunately some things do not age well. Location great. Staff a little like managing faulty towers. We have those that act like Sybil but those that act like Manual. Phoned for an earlier check in. Basil Faulty felt that although hotel was not full and although it was only an hour earlier, it would be an inconvenience to her so without a reason or apology she just said no. Then things got better when the key card machine failed and we had to wait around whilst it was replaced. However it had to take another day to finish that. Final fault in the 4 star tower is when you paying per a star, sound proofing is one of the qualities you rely on. My family got the soccer commentary and the stadium performance from two rooms down but imagine that if you could hear the TV loud and clear, just how loud the voices were too. However let me say this - comfortable beds, a great sleep. Good location. So if poor breakfast selection and inconsistent service is tolerable for you, this could still be a winner.

A classy , clean and perfectly located hotel just off the highway. The staff are friendly and welcoming, check in is efficient and introduction to the room is good. COVID protocols are sheared to with staff also wearing masks all the time, temperature taken each time one enters. There is free underground parking with easy access to the hotel. The room was spacious with a lovely balcony , well sized with views of Table Mountain. Wifi is unlimited and works well. The in-house restaurant, Mozambik adds a splash of colour to the sheek decor . Meals can be eaten at the restaurant or ordered as room service . Just outside the the hotel is a Woolworths food store and a Coffee store. The room was cleaned day and toiletries replenished. I loved the hotel and will definitely be back.

We had a penthouse, and were disappointed with the things not working. The aircon needed a service and didn’t cool the house, fridge missed a shelf and was not cold. We had no towels after room got service and rang reception to be told they have no towels only get some in the morning, had to ring again. Rooms only service 3-4pm, should be in the morning. Windows and shower glass doors don’t open and close easily

I have stayed at the Colosseum during just about every trip to Cape Town in the last 10 years. Staff seem genuinely happy to see you, and front desk service is excellent-you are often greeted by name.

Back in the day, each regular guest was given a goldfish to name; this goldfish would be in your room during your stay, and staff would look after it when you were away.
A delightful practice, probably ended due to the high replacement cost...

As a business traveler, try it out, you won't regret your decision. The new on-site Mozambik restaurant and bar completes the attraction.

What an experience it was during our stay for our anniversary. Booked the Executive suite online which their website refers to “breath-taking views across Table Bay and of Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and Devil’s Peak.” The view is of all the new buildings popping up in Century City (which is understandable but then updated your website). Dinner time came which was supposed to be one of the highlights of the night, first ordered the prego roll, then got told there is no rolls in stock, then I ordered the steak trinchado, which came in a small bowl, filled with some flavourless sauce and the meat was bland with no seasoning (looked like the meat was boiled).

The next morning during breakfast service we experienced the exact same with their breakfast, after ordering 3 omelets we decided to have toast with cheese on it for breakfast

Hi Chandre07, we would put an extra bed in the room, only executive suites on the 4th floor have balconies. Due to the design, there are none on the 5th floor.
