Our stay at the Captain Wohlt Inn in Hermann, MO was delightful. Brant was there to greet us upon our arrival. Our room was equipped with hand sanitizer and our delicious breakfast was safely delivered to our room each morning. We highly recommend the Inn for a wonderful getaway.
My wife and I just visited Captain Wohlt Inn for the 3rd time, but our first time back since October of 2017. In these days of Covid-19 we were hesitant about visiting, but really wanted to enjoy the Inn and everything Hermann has to offer. Immediately upon check-in we understood that Brandt and his staff took the virus protocols seriously. Mary was wearing a mask and asked that we maintain the 6 foot social distancing. Hand sanitizer was available at the front door. Breakfast was delivered at 8:30 am to our door and we never saw the individual who delivered it. Biscuits & gravy, eggs and a fruit assortment was tasty. The night of our arrival we met one of Brandt's relatives who was up from Arkansas and helping out. We were leaving for dinner, but asked Corbin if we could have an outdoor fire that evening. Of course his answer was an accommodating "absolutely." When we got back from dinner we had a beautiful fire going with embers that made it easy for us to add wood for a nice long evening. Making S'mores was the icing on a perfect evening. Thank you all for another great visit and making us feel totally safe.…
Stayed here while riding the Katy trail. The room was clean and nice. Great outdoor area with fire pit. Breakfast and cookies were delicious. Host was helpful for dinner options and storage of our bikes. Easy walk to great coffee and candy shops!
The staff at Captain Wohlt were very hospitable. Great breakfasts. Gourment, but also not over the top. Just fine tasting food. Just an overall excellent experience. Rooms were clean. Went when it was a little chilly at nights. The fires were great. Relaxing. We are heading back here in next week(this review was for last year's stay). We also bought our good friends a two night stay early next month.
The aesthetically-pleasing rooms have been recently remodeled, complete with nice high-end finishes in the bathroom. It's a far cry from some of the Victorian decor with scary old dolls staring at you at other places! lol! It's a really cute property, centrally located, with tables and chairs, fire pits, and corn hole in the courtyard, with live music (singer-songwriter types) - and a dog! Breakfast - delivered to your door in to-go containers - was delicious: a fat piece of french toast with bananas, scrambled eggs, and polish sausage. Oh, and two unbelievably-good homemade cookies await you upon arrival! Also upon arrival and checkin, Brandt does a great job giving you a map and directions anywhere you want to go. Nice touch too are the keys, which have Brandt's contact info on them in case you need anything while you're out. Only negative was the $400 price per night for a basic queen during an autumn weekend (high season). Note: If you go to bed early or are a light sleeper, seek a room on the backside of the Inn, as you can hear the live music and courtyard activity from the front of the house. I'd stay here again :)…
