Our 3rd trip to Hermann, 1st time here. We can’t wait to come back! Everything was perfect. Kate & Adrian have amazing attention to detail. Their food was great, we enjoyed the hot tub. The small details in the room, make a difference. Felt like we were staying in a European house. The wine cellar was very enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back!

Travel has been severely curtailed for most of us since March, 2020, both out of caution and because some options aren't available. My friend and I were happy to be able to revisit the Alpenhorn- this was probably my 10th stay with them and we'd been there together last year. We were both looking forward to it. Kate and Adrian have been VERY conscientious about prevention. All meals were served outside (and the weather co-operated). Masks are worn indoors in the common area, and even outside by Adrian when he serves the food. He talks to every prospective guest beforehand (including those who come just for dinner) to make sure they're on board with the precautions. They've invested in a machine that mists an entire room with an antiseptic substance after it's been vacated, so that it's sanitized for the next occupants. When we visited, there were only 18 cases of COVID-19 in the county, 2 of which were in Hermann. Some businesses were more careful than others- Adrian was a very good source of information on which to avoid and which are taking precautions such as masks for the staff. And, on to happier topics- the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are peaceful and the food is still delicious. I just wish I'd brought my phone/camera to meals more often so I could have posted more pictures! Portions are the perfect size- enough to enjoy but not an overload. My wife and I only had the courtyard breakfast on our last day in Hermann, but it was a lovely experience. We had the courtyard to ourselves and the meal (made up of banana nut pancakes, an egg, cheese and herb cup, a strawberry pomegranate smoothie, and coffee) was delicious and was one of the highlights of our trip. If you like cats, this place is for you, as we were greeted by two fluffy cats when we arrived. The owners were also a delight and very hospitable. We even learned a great alternative to handshakes. Overall, it was a great experience and we highly recommend it if you're in Hermann.

Got to stay here just before restrictions on the Covid virus hit. The Alpenhorn is just a beautiful spot in Hermann!!! At the time we stayed travel restrictions had just come down so you couldn't fly overseas so this was just the place to feel like you were in Europe without leaving the area!!! Hosts are Swiss and the setting is very beautiful and quite bucolic. Our guest house was very comfortable and sooo relaxing! There are no TV's or phone which we loved!! And breakfast was amazing!!!! Hermann is such a blast, all the wineries, the fun little antique store, the Katy trail, and from the Alpenhorn you can even see the Missouri River which goes right through the quaint town. The Alpenhorn is the place to go and can't wait to go back!!!
