Wow...an amazing and relaxing birthday experience!
The staff and owner were accommadating and friendly.
It was chilly so we didn't make use of the swimming pool.
We booked the double deluxe room with the roof terrace which allowed a private view deck of the whales and a romantic sunset. The view at breakfast was stunning! The staff were also eager to assist us with breakfast options due to our diet restrictions and ensured we left with a smile on our faces.
Would highly recommend balustrades on the roof top terrace though.
Overall, a superb experience!

We had a wonderful stay at the seastar lodge. The room has everything what you could need (body lotion, shampoo, coffee, minibar, cozy and big bed, view and terrace to the sea....)
The breakfast is big and includes everything you need for a perfect start into your day - the best: you can have breakfast while watching the whales 😊
We had a very warm welcome and everybody was so helpful. A big thank you to Kate, Blessed and the team!

The Manager (Blessed) and his staff were fantastic. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room (Master Suite) was massive with an amazing bathroom. The views from our room were great. Breakfast was very good and as well as cold buffet items, they also cooked hot food to order.
It was my partners birthday and the gave us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in our room to celebrate with.

As our beautiful couples holiday was winding down we booked Sea Star lodge promoted as 5 star thinking we can relax in a beautiful place.
In our opinion the only 5 star is the magnificent views of walker Bay. Sadly we have soo many complaints that should be seen to by the owners:
1. On arrival, rang bell and was kept waiting really long, phoned number with no answer. Thanks to other guests who let us in
2. Owners were not at property so a staff member checked us in the wrong room. Just as we started settling in the owner came to inform us that we need to change rooms. While they were very nice about it and apologetic please make sure your staff are trained properly to avoid issues upon checking in
3. Finally in the correct room and what a disappointment, the room had a fishy smell, which we traced back to the fridge. Also new room was practically apart of the breakfast area. You enter into the morning buffet and tables.
4. Having to pay for bottled water. Even at 3 star accomodation bottled water is complimentary. Also consider adding fruit
5. Website information is false. Please ensure that your website is updated with current offerings. We were looking forward to a high tea
6. Expected certain level of privacy, but in the lodge we could hear all sounds from fellow guests. With rooms in buffet, lounge area guests should not be allowed to have kids running around after 8pm
7. Room: there was so much dampness covered up by paint, mould, no handle on window, TV that doesn't really work. No outside chairs on shared balcony immediately outside our room
8. It was raining evening but still warm so we wanted some fresh air and opened our sliding door slightly which we soon had to close due to rain entering room. Would be nice to have some kind of cover on balcony. Also the astroturf on balcony when wet became very slippery so after rain we could not step out onto the balcony
9. Communication: Before arriving we received an email asking for any special requests which we replied informing them we Muslim and asked if there is any food options for us which we have still not received any feedback on.
10. Breakfast: completely underrated. Served from 8am but items were still being added to the buffet table. Minimal options. Menu very limited.
Overall, we were there over Christmas, and a nice personal touch for your guests celebrating would be to add a gift or a cracker or something special. Lots of effort and love needs to be put back in if you intend on selling yourself as 5 stars.

Dear Guest We pride our selves in offering the best service in the Overberg, and we are sure you booked us according to recent and previous reviews. We always offer the best on the breakfast considering rates charged and running costs, all this needs to balance. this coming year we gong back to full rates to meet our costs and standards. We are sad of the experience during your stay and we do apologies. We noticed the Fish smell from the previous guest that put a fish in the Fridge and the ladies made sure to clean this, After your check out the next guest gave us some advice on how to get rid of the smell. Needless more to say, we apologies for this discomfort. We wish you light, warmth, love and Peace into 2023 and Beyond.

We stayed at the Sea Star Lodge for two nights during the CoronaVirus breakout. Despite the tensions, managers Blessed and Kate were fantastic. The room was clean and the views were incredible. We were treated so kindly throughout our stay and we can't say enough about the staff. Breakfast was terrific and Blessed and Kate went out of their way to make sure we had dinner reservations at local restaurants each night.

Website photos are misleading and my expectations were not met. No non-smoking signs and room smelled of smoke. Host agreed and changed rooms. Rooms in general need proper refurbishment. Water damage and damp areas seem to have simply been painted over. Curtain rail in room hanging skew. DSTV not connected and might as well not have television in rooms. I could hear a snorer in next door room. Building noise from next door during the day. Charged for water bottles supplied in the room when that wasn't communicated upfront. Bar fridge didn't seem to work. All in all leaves the impression that owners are out of touch with the current state of the property and simply ticked boxes to achieve 5 star rating which it might have been in the past but not anymore. Disappointed overall.

We have been in this Lodge for one night in the "Old Roof Top" room with an amazing view from the private balkony on the top of the house. The service was friendly and helpful, also the breakfast was very delicious. The house is very angled and looks a bit like a private residence. The "old room" was nice but some furnitures in the room was a lite bit wear and tear but it wasn't bad.

What an absolute gem we recently discovered on our doorstep. This modern, light and bright Lodge is hard to beat in everything we experienced during our stay there. The rooms are absolutely superb, from the finishes to the quality beds and bed linen to the general facilities such as having your own Nespresso machine. The Lodge's position right above the bay allows one to watch the whales at play through its large glass windows. The breakfast was simply superb and the managerial staff incredibly polite and efficient. I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking a spot of pampering and luxury that is truly memorable.

For the 2nd time at Sea star lodge. This time the large 5 star apartment. What a disappointment. Many lamps that have not been replaced. Lighting at the stairs, bathroom, bedside lamps, etc. Dirty cigarette butt bin next to the refrigerator. Sofa that needs to be replaced with fleece blankets still needs some patching. The hot tub has very dirty nozzles. In the bathroom the water from the sink drained poorly. After comment they cleaned it so that it ran smoothly again. Heater that could not handle. After comments, others were replaced. People hide behind the fact that the owner does not buy material for replacement. However, the nozzles were cleaned afterwards. It was said that rinse aid for the bath had not been supplied. Bath but not used.
Slept at many locations that were much cheaper but much cleaner and better maintained.
Owner is German, but German cleanliness was hard to find
