We had the suite and were able to watch whales in the bay directly from the balcony. That was simply brilliant. The suite was huge and beautifully furnished. Too bad we were only there for one night. We would have liked to stay longer. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was Perfect.

Was switched to Seastar lodge at very short notice by my tour operator due to water problems in Hermanus (about 45 mins drive away). We had a big room at the top of the property with a big patio and great views of the whales in the sea below. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was quiet and comfortable but the style and decoration of the lodge is not to my taste. Odd things didn't work, light lightbulbs etc

We cancelled our original booking in Hermanus and got a room at the Lodge spontaneously. We were completely surprised when we saw the wale swimming directly in front of our roof terrasse. It was amazing! Additionally we asked for recommendations for dinner daily and got perfect reservations each day. All staff is so lovely!! Thank you all for this beautiful time at Sea Star lodge.

We had a wonderful stay here. Unfortunately, the weather was not so great, which is why we appreciated the accommodation all the more. We were able to see whales from the room and breakfast room. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The boss of the house is incredibly nice and helps you with a message within minutes. When we come back, we will definitely stay here again! Thank you!

We stayed 4 nights in the new rooftop suite. Kate and Blessed are incredible hosts and the almost concierge service Kate offers is out of this world. Thanks to her recommendation we had the best food of our lives. Both are extremely friendly and helpful and we couldn’t have asked for more. The room is spacey and the bathroom has a wonderful view on the ocean as well. Overall highly recommended from our side!

We only stayed here for 1 night stopping on our way to Cape Town but wish we could have stayed a little longer! The rooms were lovely- large and nicely decorated with brilliant views. Kate was very friendly when she showed us around. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. My only comments would be that the toilet door in our room did not quite shut, and that there was no back up for load shedding during our stay. However, this did not bother us at all as everything else more than made up for it. Thank you, we will definitely stay again if back in the area.

The best place were you can stay in Gangsbaai. Amazing room, breakfast... everything was perfect. The views are awesome. You can see the whales from your room. I will repeat again if we return to Gangsbaai.

We stayed at Sea Star Lodge for two nights to go shark diving in Gansbaai. The lodge was everything we had hoped. Great outdoor space with each unit. Lovely rooms. A great staff and delicious breakfast. The hosts were super helpful in finding food and activities. They were very responsive and always looking out to make sure we had a great time. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in Gansbaai.

Disappointing- needs TLC & updating. Intern working during our stay was excellent! No backup for load shedding, weak Wi-Fi & not good access to rooms - design disfunctional, features are outdated and partially functional. Had to move rooms as one booked had a plumbing problem. No TV in room we were in.
