Take it easy while in Malaba by relaxing at the Levantes hotel. It's well relaxing from the bustling Malaba town. While waiting for our lunch, we did some birding in the compound where a couple of the very tame African Pied Wagtails kept Taya, our daughter very engaged and the restless Blue Flycatcher was playing very hard to enjoy watching. The friendliness of the staff really shines and the food is very delicious. If you are an outdoor person, consider bringing some insect repellants along as mosquitoes out in the garden are very merciless to the last drop. We will definitely go back.

This property is just off the busy highway, in Amagoro, unaffected by the hectic life of Malaba. They have a good restaurant, although the choices are limited. If you are in mood for outdoors, they will serve you in the garden outside. They provide healthy breakfast (optional). What I liked the most is their service with a smile. The staffers will speak to you with a smile and will attend to any need or issues.

Hotel Levantes is an awesome place to stay. Though the standard rooms are a bit squeezed, the delux rooms are a little more spacious and comfortable. Wi-Fi is strong, but they could do better if they upgrade their TV services. The staff are friendly, the price even more friendly. The Chef is awesome. he made for us food that left us finger licking. I would strongly recommend this place.

There really is very little if any choice of decent hotels in this area. The garden is lovely and peaceful despite being on a main road. Hotel and rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. Sheets, towels etc changed daily. Food menu is limited for Brits, but the staff really will do everything to accommodate you. Furniture and decor are a little faded, but to be expected, given the challenges of running this size of hotel in this vicinity. Staff and the delightful owners more than make up for that. It also feels a very secure place to stay.sorry the stars won't click to rate, but happy with this hotel for cost and location

Hotel Levantes provided an great choice for a brief holiday stay-over providing us a chance to attend a friend’s family function in Teso along the slopes of Mt Elgon and later cross over into Uganda and visit Jinga town for the day. The rooms are clean and the staff very accommodating and helpful
