What a beautiful place to stay overnight! Well equipped, tidy and it feels like home.

But the outstanding experience was the friendly and professional service that I have received from the Manager right down to the cleaning staff. They did everything to make me feel at home and made sure that I had everything I needed. Well done - you care for your customer made it very special!!

It's not the first time I have stayed here while I travel farther north. As usual, I found the living space ample, bed super comfortable and quite clean. It seems they updates some of their furniture. I had my bed light bulb broke, but they quickly changed it. I had decent wifi, surprisingly and they had a generator as there was load shedding, and the table was perfect for me to put my travel workstation up. Coffee was also nice to arrange myself in the comfort of my room and I even sat outside a bit in the morning as they had a small table and chairs out front of my room. The restaurant Aloway, next door was perfect for meals morning, noon and evening. They had some construction going on but it didn't bother me. They are expanding the restaurant and bar and were putting in a pool, which I look forward to enjoying the next time I am around. All-in-all, it was nice and it felt a bit like my home away from home.

Very polite and friendly staff, excellent food and lodge accommodation. The bush camp is very spacious, and massive kitted kitchen area, braai area and pool. Wide variety of wildlife to see and experience. Awesome for n break away or long weekend fun

I did NOT enjoy my stay at Iphofolo Lodge. The supervisor/guy in charge was really not nice to my colleague and I. The rooms are very standard and the fact that maintenance and building happened when we were there, also did not make our stay pleasurable. One night, the guy in charge just left our food UNCOVERED on the table infront of our rooms?? Lots of other things BUT all the best to the team.

Response from Iphofolo Game Farm, General Manager at Iphofolo Tent & Lodge
Responded 14 Sept 2022
We are quite surprised with your review, especially after sorting out the error that was made with your booking agency where it was incorrectly booked (not by us). To address the items mentioned in your comments. 1. We are expanding the restaurant and we try to keep noise, start and stop times for work appropriately to adapt to the standard hours for guests. 2. We sent food to your room as per your request with you inside of the room. We do not cover the food as you had just requested it. We would do so if there is a wait of any sort, but in this case, we didn’t feel the need to. The rooms are large with separate living space with dining table and that is where the food was placed. 3. The supervisor has never had any complaints, so maybe there is a bit of interpretation there. In any case, we hate to see that a guest didn’t have a pleasant stay for whatever reason and will try to improve where we can to make it a better experience for all guest and hopefully, if there is a next time, we can share a better experience with you

On our way to the north we stayed a night at Iphofolo. It was exactly what we were looking for. A clesn room with a comfortable bed for a good night rest. The onsite restaurant provided us with a tasty mela.

We really enjoyed the nights, with all the stars and the sounds of many different animals. We felt truly in nature, it was all so well organised and laid out. The tents were spacy and comfortable, and the staff was amazing. We saw a lot of animals, including a baby giraffe, a brown hyena and lots of jackals and hornbills. The place is very tranquil and yet exiting with all the animals and the interaction with the wildlife. There is a wonderful lunch restaurant at the entrance. We also bought some Aloe Vera products at the shop which are amazing, never found something similar in South Africa.

Although I've reserved this accommodation as a sleepover on a business trip, I've wished that I brought my wife with. Arriving well after sunset, I was greeted with the diverse sound of frogs competing in a chorus concert, and the moon reflecting on the water around the restaurant. Far away from city noise, I thought: This is the place to relax! My request for a very early breakfast (included) was happily met, and what a huge breakfast it was! Next time...I'll stay for a week!

Very impressed with the improvements done to the camp since we were there a year ago . Guides and trackers are now also a lot more professional and one can see that attention has been given in this area . Harold in camp remains an absolute gem and superstar . Thanks for a great 4 days .

It is a very nice place. The staff were friendly and even accommodated our request that we wanted to get going very early the next day so would want breakfast very early. The food was great. Would recommend the stay.
