I spent two nights at Casa Jensen and loved it. Having arrived after a 12 hour bus journey it was nice to meet welcoming staff and a hot shower. Rooms are very clean and very well equipped with DSTV, AC, wifi, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge and hot water 24/7.
Casa Jensen is located on a quiet road but only a few minutes walk from the city centre - it's safe and easy to walk.
Breakfast was really nice and they will cook the eggs to your liking. They serve the breakfast on your own private veranda.
I would recommend Casa Jensen for a good quality authentic stay in an historic Mozambican town.

Very centrally located in the city it is yet quiet at night and comfortable with all the amenities of a 4 star hotel: wifi, DSTV in room, excellent food prepared to order for guests.
Frank and Lourdes are lovely hosts who bend over backwards to help first-timers unfamiliar with the city and how to get around to do the best things.
Exceptionally reasonably priced is the best value in town. With only 5 rooms presently (6 more under construction for later this year) it is often full in the week with business travellers so booking ahead is vital. It's a great spot to explore the old town from and sample a bit of nightlife at weekends when it's is typically less busy.
Rooms are well designed and loving crafted from local materials, the hardwood tables and Bar tops are real, eye-catchers. It is not a place for lovers of 5 star fripperies but if you want somewhere central clean welcoming and affordable then this is your best bet in Inhambane

I stayed here for a night on the way to Tofo beach and liked it enough to stay again on the way back.
The rooms are 1800 each, which seems to be about normal in Mozambique. That said, the room was really nice. Spotlessly clean, modern, with a nice bathroom, big TV (international channels), tea, coffee, and free wifi (quite a rarity around here).
Breakfast was basic, but okay, and they also do good evening meals if you want one.
The place is not far from the airport and they will fetch you (free) if you ask. They will also drop you off at the market for an early morning bus.
Recommended.

This was my second time staying at Casa Jensen and I was definitely happy to be back. The guesthouse is in a great location - on a quiet street just off from the main road with central Inhambane all within easy walking distance. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, clean and modern with good facilities: fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, aircon, DTSV etc. Breakfast is served on the veranda outside each room and the staff are very friendly and helpful. An ideal place for a business or holiday stay over.

Well organised place just a short walk from the city center. Very clean and well organised. Everything works. Linen is new and good qualitiy (probably a cotton rich cotton/poly mix); air conditioner works well. Breakfast a bit disappointing perhaps but you can probably specify how eggs can be done. Staff very helpful. No fuss, every thing clean and efficient. Good value for Mozambique.

This was somewhere we stayed last minute on our way through inhambane. It is very comfortable and the manageress is so kind and really makes an effort for your comfort. It's in a bit of a strange place, but very interesting and we always felt safe. Good food is served there and a nice big breakfast.

The location is very nice, on the road to Tofo and Barra beaches.
The rooms are well equipped - with a fully stocked minibar, charged at very good rates.
The linen was of acceptable quality, with a nice queen bed.

Flatscreen TV, with accessible HDMI ports, with an offering of plenty of international channels.
Free wifi, although coverage might pose a problem.
Tea an coffee facilities inside the room.

They will serve a breakfast at the time you let them know.
Although not buffet style, it is quite tasty and will get you going for the day at the beach.

The downside - room price of 2500 Meticais just outside high season. In my opinion too expensive, but it will be difficult to find better deals in this area.
