Detailed Reviews
Our room was spotless and well maintained. The staff was friendly. A plus that they allow pets and the fee was reasonable. It was off the beaten path so no traffic noise until 6 am. If you’re a snowmobiler, it’s just a few blocks drive, or ride, to the trail access.

The room we were in was recently renovated. The room was very clean and fresh. Construction is cinder block walls which makes for very quiet rooms with an unfinished basement look. There was a continuous water type sound that may have been from the steam heat? Beds were comfortable. There is a sauna that has a shower actually in the sauna. The water temperature in our room shower didn’t get very hot. Breakfast is mainly wrapped items such as rolls, donuts and muffins. There was also yogurt, oranges and juice.

+1
Pine View Inn in Virginia, MN is a small hotel, but the ownership has obviously put their heart and soul into this business. The newly remodeled room that I stayed in was clean, tidy, and cozy. This hotel is a diamond in the rough and they gave me a room just as they were shutting down for the night. The front desk staff was pleasant and made me feel at home. Thank you!!

My wife and I stayed at the Pine View Inn for 4 nights in August 2021. Although our room was clean and reasonably priced, we had some problems during our stay that could have been avoided:
The motel was inundated with guests because of a lot of construction work that is being done in the area and the motel staff hostess Penny certainly let me know about this by complaining to me about the situation. In addition, our room was particularly noisy late on one particular night and into the early morning hours due to several construction workers partying outside of our room.
And, don't ask for any staff assistance after 10:00 PM! I made the mistake of asking for some help with the TV remote controller at 10:15 PM . Penny, the hostess, was perturbed by my asking for help after her bed time. She begrudgingly came to our room to "help" and curtly said that no one else has had a problem with the TV controller. How would she know this?? Does she have a photographic memory? She "fixed" it and then advised me not to touch any of the controller buttons except for a couple of them. She was dead wrong! After working with the controller the next evening, I figured it out. on my own. Also, the room has a listing of numerous TV channels, but the majority of them were not available.
THE BOTTOM LINE: The staff needs to be more cordial and accommodating after 10:00 PM and a guide should be in each room on what TV channels are locally available and instructions as to how to use the remote.
My wife and I have stayed at this motel for years when it was called the Ski View Motel, and we always enjoyed it. Now that it's staffed with different personnel, we will likely never stay at the Pine View (aka Ski view) Inn again. We would rather pay more for a motel room in the area that has friendly, cordial staff than save a few dollars and deal with cantankerous people!

Not quite what the positive reviews would lead you to believe. Yes, the rooms have been modernized if you like that gray/black/white look. But the "king" mattress on my bed felt more like a six-inch foam pad and it had a crinkly plastic sheet underneath the fitted sheet. Not comfortable. There was an opened used soap and wrapper still in the shower. Someone was running around in the room above me and it was loud. The floors weren't the cleanest and the room smelled pretty stale (and the office STANK). I would expect that quality of environment for maybe $80 a night yet after the exchange rate I paid $150 CAD.
The appearance outside/location is pretty sketch as well. Felt a bit Breaking Bad to be honest. I wouldn't have wanted to have kids with me.

Very nice facility. Very clean rooms, very good shower, beds were comfortable. Owners are very nice and the coffee and pastries were great in the morning! Will be back for sure!! Easy to find off/on from Hwy 53 . Parking with truck and boats was no problem.

Exceptionally clean and quiet rooms. Our group of seven all agreed it was an excellent place to stay. Staff was professional and polite. Breakfast was limited because of COVID-19 but good never-the-less. Will stay again.

We spent one night at this quaint motel. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and the site quiet. The staff were very pleasant and eager to assist. The breakfast is minimal, but sufficient.
We would definitely stay there again if ever in the area.

Room was much nicer than we had expected, included full sized refrigerator and stove, microwave and big television , and exceptionally
clean. Staff was very friendly and nice to work with. A little out of the way, but not enough to be a problem. We’ll be back!
