Detailed Reviews
This hotel is conveniently located with a wonderful restaurant on sight. I cant say enough about the restaurant, good service, good food, but the hotel is really in need of some upkeep, paint peeling in the bathroom, tub and facets are beyond cleaning properly. It was priced ok at $71 for a room with 2 queen beds, coffee pot and coffee but nothing else a chip of soap in the bathroom. I was glad we were there only for overnight.

Hibbing doesn't have a lot going for it in terms of available hotels. The Hibbing Park is a bit of a drive from the airport, approx. 15-20 minutes drive. The interior of the hotel is dated, and it doesn't really seem like they're in any sort of hurry to get it updated. The amenities of a hotel are there, save for the elevator, and the front desk staff is courteous and helpful. The rooms were a little dark, with only the entryway light and the bedside lamps available to illuminate the room. The bathroom is... unique. It's small, and also dated, but the shower comes with a nice soap dispenser bolted to the wall. I assume it's for shampoo, though it doesn't say anywhere what exactly is in there. For sleeping, the hotel will do. Otherwise it's got a long way to go to get into the 21st century.

The rooms were clean and adequate in size. The restaraunt was better than average - if you stay I would recommend the garlic steak. The staff was very friendly - would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the Hibbing area.

Pipes broke late at night so reserved a room for the next night was told to check in at 2 was not given a room until ALMOST 8PM then was told I could have a late check out of 12pm BUT was harassed by house keeping starting at 7am up until noon as to rather or not we were checking out yet even called by front desk. Was told our policy is to try and check you in no later then 3pm not a gaurantee so there is nothing we can do.very rude.On top of being checked in finally at 8pm the room was still dirty. The card key would not work and was exchanged 3 times before getting keys that would work only after playing with the door for 1/2 hour.the hot tub was only started when the pool room was opened at 8am and there for was not even warm until 10 am and there for one hour before normal check out so the amendities I paid for I never got to use and Management Does Nothing I would never stay there again and will let my friends know never to make my mistake.

I have stayed at this hotel everytime for drill dates with no problems of a late check out, so my wife would not have to stay in the hotel lobby or bar area, under new management was told that they donot allow that. Was told didn't care if I had a late drill, that i should have made other arrangements, was treated poorly and disrespected. Will not stay here again and have informed my unit and fellow guard membersof the poor treatment.

We stayed there two weekends in a row, renting several rooms. I found everything and everyone to be extremely helpful and friendly... EXCEPT on the morning of Jan 29... The desk clerk (Icky Clerk) on that morning/day shift was crabby and rude. She made me feel that anything I requested or asked about was a total inconvenience and bother to her, nearly rolling her eyes at me.
The next weekend we were staying there again, with a different desk clerk. During the course of our conversation I inadvertently discovered that the Icky Clerk had actually LIED to me about something that would have caused her to be NICE, had she told the truth.
The desk clerk on Feb 5, morning/day shift, totally made up for Icky Clerk's behavior. Linda (Good Clerk) went over and above to help me with little conveniences, and seemed genuinely happy to help. Kudos, Linda!!!!
The only other thing our entire party had issues with billing. Be sure to check your bill for accuracy! Everyone in our party found an extra charge for something they didn't have. Example, Only one of us had a dog, but everyone was billed for a dog! And we did not have connecting rooms, FYI. All of us had incorrect charges on our bills, and that kind of leaves a person feeling like the company is TRYING to sneak by with overcharging...

Response from Stephanie_Foley, Guest Relations Manager at Hibbing Park Hotel
Responded 22 Jun 2017
First let me apologize about the "icky clerk" You will be happy to know she is no longer with us. I'm happy Linda was able to help make your stay enjoyable. I do apologize about the "pet fee" that somehow got on numerous bills. I don't understand how that happened. But Please know we do not put random charges on... So again I am sorry for any inconvenience. We hope you give us a chance again.

Only two places to pick from if you want to stay right IN Hibbing, so this is the better choice. But as far as hotel's go, you get what you pay for. The place has lowered their rates to match what you get. Beds are comfortable, carpet where we were looked newer. Very quiet night so that's a plus! The pillows, have to mention the pillows..... UGH. They were the worst pillows I've seen in my life as a traveler. I am thankful I thought of bringing my own or I would have used my winter coat wrapped in a bath towel. Honestly, the pillows were full of small lumps (probably of foam?) that were the most disgusting to feel, let alone put your head on. I didn't even want to use an extra pillow for a shoulder problem I have. This place needs to get new pillows for sure. Bring your own, realize it's an older hotel. The restaurant on sight has great food, so that is a plus. We didn't use the pool.
Another annoying factor was the fan that would a little noisy when it would turn on and off all through the night. There wasn't a way to keep it completely on.

Rented a King room for a Saturday night. Room was extremely small, and all of the decore and amenities looked like it hadn't been replaced in decades. The rooms have curtains all along one wall of the room, but the actual windows are only about 3 1/2 feet across... the rest of the large curtain only covers a wall with gross wallpaper.
The bathroom was by far the worst part. Tiny shower/tub with old hot/cold handles that made it hard to get the water temperature right, plenty of rust and chipped paint, and the most disgusting shower curtain I've ever seen.. The tub also leaked so that we had a huge puddle of water on the floor. Showers have weird public restroom hand soap dispensers that are mounted in a terrible place so that you keep bumping your arms on it. The hotel provides no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion. All you get are two tiny bars of soap that smell terrible. When I got out of the shower and grabbed a towel to dry off, I was totally grossed out to find that the towel had left a long, brunette hair (I'm a blonde) on my skin. My boyfriend had a similar hair left on him when he used a different towel. For the rest of our time there we just kept finding other people's hairs all over the place.
The restaurant connected to it is way overpriced and even though their bar is open late, they serve absolutely no food after 10:30p.m., which was disappointing when we came back at 11 after a long night of dancing at a wedding.
Also, we could clearly hear the people in the rooms next to us, below us, and anyone walking through the hallway, which was annoying since our room was directly at the top of a busy stairwell.
The only two positive things I can say were that the tvs are new (although fairly small) and the sheets were soft. I would never, ever stay here again.

My mother and I stayed there to go to a funeral and we were sorely disappointed. First we requested a handicapped room and did not get it. There was no fan in the bathroom;the pillows smelled like sweat;the blanket smelled moldy. The shower just dribbled water out slightly and it was cold. We decided that we would go to Chisolm next time we go to Hibbing to visit family. My sister paid for the room and she felt really bad that she had to put us there. NEVER AGAIN. Also the woman that checked us in was dirty, her hair was not combed and she had very dirty fingernails. Also she was missing major teeth in her mouth. Nice reception. I would DEFINITELY recommend the restaurant. That was very good and the atmosphere was wonderful. The waitresses were nicely dressed and friendly.
