The room was dirty and smelled bad. All the towels was yellowed and looked like they have not been washed. Hallway had one of the worst smells. The people at the front desk was very mean and not helpful at all. Please don't go to this place and they even had white stuff on the cabinets and dresser. Even the bed had spots on it.
The whole experience was horrible! Took me over 30 minutes to check in. Got to our room and couldn't get in because the door wouldn't open. Wash rags were yellowed. Bedding dirty. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but checked out after 1. If it would have been earlier we would have checked out immediately. Everything needs cleaned!! Huge stains in hallway carpet. Elevator looked like it had never been wiped down and garbage overflowing in common areas. Room and hallway smelled. The only plus was the air conditioning was awesome!!! Really cooled the room down!
Our locked room was burgled within hours of our check in. Lost a suitcase, tote bag, backpack, and a medical device. All of which had valuables in them. The only comment by the evening clerk was to say, "Call the police" as he went back to playing with his phone. The police were very nice, and advised us to never stay in any hotel on American Blvd, so we moved hotels. Since then the Choice group denies any responsibility, and the manager is almost always 'busy' or in a meeting. It takes 5 or 6 calls to get past the front desk and through to him, and his response is that he is working with the police. There has been no mention of regret that this happened, nor attempts to compensate our losses from their insurance or even listen to us about what would make us less disgusted with them. Our losses are about $5000 including the medical device. Only stay there if you have nothing to leave in your room when you go out! We will need to take further action to resolve this, so it is ongoing. AND there is a lot to replace. Do Not Stay There! It is not safe. (the smokey smell and door banging all night were the least of our problems!)…
I felt very unsafe at this hotel. They don’t fix anything. All you smell is smoke and drugs for rooms that are suppose to be no smoking. Poor cleaning, ruff neighborhood, loud neighbors, under staffed
This place is the absolute PITS! Dirty exterior! Dirty smelly interior. Whole place smells like smoke and drugs? . Cold "hot water". Pool and hot tub closed (and I've stayed elsewhere in MSP area which had them open so no saying due to covid). Breakfast is bagged burritos cause "they don't have staff" but yet Dennys is attached. Room so hot sweating in bed. Tried to make room look nice but didn't address the mold in bathroom nor by A/C. 2 bath towel, 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels, no bathmat in a room for 4 people. Avoid it! Avoid it! Avoid it!
