Musty rooms, not enough towels, no extra blankets , bad service all around. 5 of us in a suite but they only had enough towels for 2 of us. Their response was if I had more I would give you more. Will never stay at a Marriott again.
I wanted to thank the Residence Inn Bloomington by Mall of America staff for making our stay, stress free. We were displaced to a hotel after a sewer backup in our basement. Our stay kept getting extended and the staff were great at accommodating the changes with our insurance. We were put in a 2 room suite which had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a main room with a pullout couch, fireplace and even had a full kitchen with the basic essentials including a table with 4 chairs. It was perfect for what we needed. The staff were always friendly and helpful when we needed additional supplies or garbage picked up. The breakfast was great, with more items than I anticipated especially with all of the covid restrictions. The hotel was clean and the pool was amazing for swimming. Even had my grandson up for his first swim in a big pool. The water was warm enough he could enjoy it. Actually we were all able to enjoy it together. The parking lot was well lit. We stayed during I think the coldest part of the winter and the sidewalks were always shoveled and salted. We can't thank you enough for all of your hospitality during a stressful situation at home. Extra thank you' s to Travis Swanson and Darryn Maloney for going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We really appreciate everything!…
Would give this property a 2 but am giving it a 3 because of the excellent front desk staff who did their best to address our concerns. But they have to deal with a drab facility that is not well maintained. Room was old, worn carpet and walls, not clean, sticky handles, dirty dishes in cupboard, ancient stove and frig, broken disposal. Needs a dramatic face-lift to meet what we expect from Marriott. Price was good so I guess you get what you pay for!
Clean establishment with large rooms. We had a living space with pull out sofa, kitchen and separate bedroom. They called us a private taxi to bring us to the airport and had a shuttle for our return. Will stay here again next month for another park/ride option.
We stayed 2 nights. I stay in Residence Inn frequently when I travel for the nice suites and great breakfast. Checkin was friendly and easy. Was advised due to covid masks required in public areas and bagged breakfast. I appreciated this as it made me feel safer. The room was nice and big but kinda shabby. Furniture was dinged up. Carpet was coming up, bathroom door trim was rotting out, wallpaper was water damaged, bed was way to firm for me. It seemed clean except some of the silverware. It was super convenient for Mall, just a few blocks away. The bagged breakfast was pitiful. They were out of coffee from at least 8-8:20 the first day so I drank decaf (I would have asked if they had more but the guy in back was having a coughing fit). The hot tub was out of order, pool needed cleaning. I use rewards night for my stay. I could have stayed at the JW Marriott attached to the mall for free but I chose the residence inn because they are usually high quality and the breakfast is usually so good. I wouldn't stay again and probably will be cancelling my Marriott Visa soon as the free reward night is no longer worth the $95 annual fee. The Super 8 we stayed in the rest of our trip was much nicer with a good breakfast. …
