Embassy MSP 9x’s out of 10… We will stay at an Embassy Suites if needed… We’ve grown fond of the cleanliness (interior & exterior) even during Covid-19, friendliness of staff, updated room furniture & decor, comfortable beds, free parking for guests and standard Embassy Suites cook to order breakfast included in your room rate… During this stay to celebrate a monumental birthday and surprise proposal for myself, my now fiancé & bestie booked this location that I’ve least preferred out of the two MSP locations in 8yrs… True to fact… I stayed 5 days & 4 nights back in 2013 & it’s now 2021 & this location didn’t prove worthy of another chance to disappoint me ever again. I will attach photos… After arriving for my surprise birthday proposal staycation & the hard work that was put into decorating our room for my surprise, romantic evening… We were also charged additional to the room rate for self parking… We decided to stay in the dated unacceptable room for one night because of all of the hard work that had already been put into the prep of this memorable moment… (It is memorable, alright)… We arrived for our confirmed already checked-in suite (by my bestie) around 10:45pm… My bestie had already checked-in earlier that evening to decorated our suite… If she had not we would’ve immediately complained and asked for an immediate transfer to another suite… I’m so displeased with this suite that I’m still up at 3:38am after getting engaged writing this review to hopefully help others to not make the same mistake as my bestie & fiancé did by confirming & checking into a non flagship approved sleeping/lounging hospitality environment for any occasion at this particular MSP Embassy Suites location (2800 American Blvd W, Bloomington, MN 55431)… I will be speaking to a General Manager at checkout about my well photographed, date & time stamped violations in our suite especially during the present time of Covid-19 and Delta Variant active cases right here in MN… The uncleanliness of our room may also be a health violation under the government guidelines for the virus that’s killing the young, the young at heart, the vaccinated and non vaccinated… I’m sure I will be talking to someone of authority outside of the ground level staff because this is a serious problem that we’ve encountered. I’m so disappointed in the suite that it’s taxing my excitement of my engagement. Future Guest Beware! I did speak to the front desk manager and general manager before departing

Hotel's Favourite
For a reference point, we travel a lot and have traveled many times in the last 12 months, including 3 trips to MPLS . We stay in Hilton Hotels primarily, Embassy Suites if we can find one. We have stayed in this hotel before but not in a few years. Hotel services have had to change given COVID, and those changes were identified upfront, so though disappointing not a surprise. The hotel physical plant has aged with the furniture in the rooms. However the interior changes they made in the atrium were significant and look good. Having the morning breakfast continues to be one of the ES staples. Loss of the Managers Happy Hour was disappointing but understandable. Hope they bring it back soon. It is a good place for business people to socialize at the end of the day. Having the families descend on the hotel over the weekend for sporting events is always fun and invigorating. Room was adequately cleaned upon entry. Received whatever we needed upon request. Tip: Clean/change Room vent filters regularly. Schedule upgrade of room furniture over the next couple of years. Shout outs for Chelsea at Front Desk who knew our names by the second day and was a welcoming voice every time we came thru the door, Roberta at Front desk who helped Sue with some business she needed done, and the Managers Sandy and Robin who I had some engaging conversations with. A very friendly and helpful staff overall. As always everything I expected from Embassy Suites. M&S

Mark & Sue, It was a pleasure having you stay with us and we apricate the thorough review of the property. Guest rely on these review more then normal to make their choices as everything is so different at each property. Unfortunately, we had to delay our refresh on the rooms but plan to reschedule in the coming years, we hope to open the managers reception in the near future. We look forward to your next visit with us.

The breakfast is good ( I didn’t eat it this time, but every time it’s delicious). I actually stayed here last may 2020 and it was great especially under the circumstances with covid, they had social distancing signs and people were in masks of course. Currently the safety measures at least for guests are non existent. The pool was full of kids, they cancelled adult swim and we unfortunately did not get to use the amenities comfortably, we chose to leave the hot tub sadly within the first 5 minutes because a bunch of kids came in (like actually inside of the hot tub with no adult supervision) none of the kids could’ve been over the age of 9. The fellow guests were rude when expressing that I was uncomfortable inside of the elevator because they had no masks on and it just overall was not what I expected. Yes I chose to goto a hotel during a pandemic, but it would be nice to see pool reservations and some sort of social distancing protocol because we live in a world where adults don’t respect other adults and if the hotel doesn’t put something in their policies then safe guests like myself really get the short end of the stick. Vaccine or no vaccine people should have to be wearing their masks in your elevators and lobby at the VERY least, People are traveling from god knows where and the lack of masks/social distancing is putting your staff and other guests at a much higher risk for health concerns. Again I know I personally decided to goto a hotel during a pandemic, but idk about you pandemic or not I’m not trying to sit with 15 kids in a pool and I’m not trying to get stuffed into a small ass elevator with Johnny and his wife and his 92 bags of luggage for his golf tournament.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the pandemic response and the cancellation of adult swim time. We will discuss your concerns and suggestions at our Management meeting and see if we can come up with some solutions. I hope that you will give us another chance on your next visit to the area.

Took a loonnnnngggg time to check in with no one else waiting. Managers “reception” is advertised online as multicolored drinks in attractive glasses as has been done when we've stayed here previously. Now they hand out two drink tickets, good for Bud Light or Golden Lite or wine. No snacks offered. 10 year old curly CFL light bulbs bedside. Toilet seat is all chipped up. What's a toilet seat cost? Hot tub was murky and cloudy. Yikes. This is Bloomington, not downtown. They charged for parking in their lot! Nice surprise there. Breakfast was OK, staff was attentive. We've stayed here multiple times before, but we're done. There are lots of better options.

Good Afternoon, I am sorry that you were disappointed with your stay with us. We have had some temporary changes to the Manager's Reception to include 2 drink tickets for tap beer or house wine and soft rinks and bags of chips are available to all guests. I sincerely hope that you will reconsider and give us another chance in the future as most of the issues that you mentioned have been corrected in the last 2 weeks.

They provide contactless check-in and check-out, which is convenient. The room was clean and orderly. I believe the hotel was full, but is was very quiet. My only recommendation is to have more coffee pods for the Keurig.

Good Morning, I am happy to see that you enjoyed your stay with us and appreciate your kind words about our hotel and staff. Unfortunately the coffee pods for the Keurig were on back order so the supplies were limited. Sorry about the inconvenience this caused!
