Detailed Reviews
Historic charming restaurant near Scenic State Park. I had a walleye sandwich on cranberry-wild rice toast, superb! If you plan to eat here on a Friday night, make reservations, since the have a Friday night fish fry. Good service, full menu.

Great food and drinks, friendly staff, and cool "up north" atmosphere. We moved to the area in 2021 and initially went there to eat right after we moved in. We vowed never to return- rude service, crappy food. Fast forward to 2023- new owners, new menu, and 110% improvement. SO awesome to have a place like this!

We enjoyed our visit at the restaurant. We had reservations and were seated in a timely manner. Decor gives you plenty of old memorabilia to look at.
Our server took our orders and made the changes to the Walleye sandwiches. Food was delivered perfectly. Server made sure everything was tasting well. She ended up eating with friends at another table and we did not hear anything from her again. We finished our meals and flagged down another server requesting a take home container and our check.
*We won’t let that experience keep us away, the food was very good!
We definitely will return!

The Antler Lodge has cabin and a motel. They are owned separately by daughter/son-in-law and mother/father but, they act like they don't even know each other! We booked and paid for one night in cabin 6, but when we found out our other relatives were in the motel, we wanted to move into the motel which is across the street. We were told we would not receive a refund due to cancelling the morning of arrival. We agreed to those terms and still booked in the motel. Since we were being charged for the cabin, later that day we gifted our cabin to some other relatives attending the same family function. We alerted the cabin owners of our intentions and they said they would leave the door open for them. When our relatives booked for a second night, they were charged for the first night, too. In order to clear up the confusion, a call was made to the cabin owners about a possible double charge. We were met with hostility. They informed us that we were not charged for the cabin after all and they could have rebooked it with 6 other people on a wait list. We explained this was news to us as we were told we would not receive a refund so why would they give that cabin to someone else on a waiting list?. Sound confusing?????? You betcha!
Based on the terrible communication between the separate owners at the Antler Lodge, we cannot recommend the cabins at Antler Lodge. However, we found the motel staff very accommodating and friendly.
Guess they cannot understand why we would honor our commitment of paying for the cabin even though we moved over to the motel. Maybe mom and dad need to retire.
We are still honoring our commitment by sending a personal check for the first night's stay to our cousins because the cabin people won't straighten out the payment.

I stayed in the Antler Lake Motel with my sister and 8 month old son. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the room. The floors were dirty and the window was open when we got there. Which would've been okay if it weren't 45 degrees out. We stayed 2 nights and both nights my baby had to sleep in my bed because our heat didn't work. We were also told we would get free coffee in the morning at the little store and both mornings they were out which was odd because there was only a few other guests. I realize Motels aren't super fancy but I was fairly disappointed with our stay.

We decided to go on a trip up north at the last minute to get out of the city. We hopped in the car and away we went. The Antler Lake Motel was our destination. We had the best of both worlds, lake within walking distance, bait, tackle and boat rental, scenic state park to explore. At night we had the luxury of a clean comfortable room with satellite tv and the convenience of a store on the property for treats for the kids and lots or friendly hospitality. Also, a bonus, Antler Lodge, is a historic landmark which features fine dining in a rustic atmosphere. The kids loved it.

We were in tonight (Friday night). We had a reservation for 6:00. We were promptly seated, waitstaff was very friendly. It was busy, but food was ordered and brought out about 20 minutes later. We had four different meals: kids chicken tenders, braised beef ravioli, full rack of ribs, and 10 Oz walleye dinner. Everyone was very happy with their food! Our 7 year old finished almost all his chicken tenders. The vodka sauce was amazing over the ravioli! My 81 year old in-law ate the full rack of ribs! And my grandmother-in-law loved her walleye dinner!
It was a nice, fun atmosphere! Although everyone was obviously busy, everyone was also full of smiles and enjoying their work!
Thank you!

Caught in storm on a trip we ducked into Antler Lodge and had a good Friday night fish fry and salad bar. Clean, friendly and a captivating setting of northwoods hunting and fishing trophies. Fish was the perfect blend of crunchy batter and moist white flesh. Salad bar was fresh and ample. We enjoyed our time so much we stopped back for lunch on our way home! Good burgers, fries and deep-fried cauliflower.

I have only eaten hewre and nevr stayed in any of the cabins but I've been here probably a dozen times over the last six or seven years when I'm up at the lake. It's about a 35 minute drive from the Cabin but the broasted chicken is worth the drive. Pretty simple place witch has a bar and a restaurant. Wonderfully decorated in North Woods fashion. They also make great homemade pies, my favorite being the strawberry rhubarb. Strange hours for the bar and restaurant that seem to change every time I pass by. Most recently they were open at 4:00 pm. on Thursdays and noon on Fri, Sat, and Sunday.
