The Marbella, Mar-bella Collection hotel is often praised for its spacious, modern rooms with breathtaking views, although a few guests have raised concerns about noise and poor lighting. While it boasts a vibrant atmosphere and immaculate cleanliness, some visitors have experienced slow service and noise disturbances. The staff is lauded for their friendliness, and the amenities, including various pools and dining options, receive positive mentions.
However, opinions on value and certain services are mixed. Its picturesque location with convenient airport access is consistently applauded.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
We have just returned from a fantastic week at MarBella Corfu as a family of 5 (kids aged 3, 6 and 8) - highly recommend to anyone with similar aged kids, especially if looking for an alternative in Greece to Ikos resorts given crazy price hikes of recent years and booking one of the more luxury room types (we stayed at Ikos Olivia in May 2022 and it was great, but we were looking at paying double for 2024 for same room type). I was a bit nervous before we went due to some of the more negative reviews but I can honestly say we had a brilliant holiday - the girls cried about leaving!
The service at MarBella was truly excellent - both in resort and in advance of our stay over email. Make the most of the wonderful guest relations team (thank you Theodora and Roula!) and pre-book your a la carte restaurants, the included boat trips, ask questions etc. A bit of advance planning and research made a huge difference to our stay.
Room options as a family of 5 were much better priced than Ikos if wanting 2 bedrooms - we splurged on a two-bedroom suite with a lovely private pool, and it was fantastic - excellent layout, plenty of space, great showers (x2), great storage.
The kids loved having the private pool - the main pool was great but often quite busy so it was nice to have another option, especially for our 3-year old. And the separate water park with slides was perfect for the older two - this was a big plus point for us when choosing the holiday and it didn’t disappoint - the “steep hill” to get there that some reviews complain about really isn’t a big deal. The little infinity pool next to the slides is a great touch as it’s perfect for younger siblings - sloped entrance, mainly 0.9m-1.2m, saltwater but really not very salty. The water park water is cold (the kids didn’t care!), the small infinity pool next to it was much warmer but I think unheated - fine in August, might be a bit chilly in May.
We had no issues with drinks service - yes if you order at the bar rather than via the app then most of the time they bring the drink over to your table a few minutes later. But we never waited very long and just took a bottle of water with us to the pools/beach as well. Cocktails in M-Bar and Belvedere were excellent, and also good down at the beach. Quality not as good up at the pool bar, and served in paper cups there, which made sense but didn’t feel quite the same as a glass, but really not a big deal.
So what are the downsides if you’re looking for an Ikos alternative? For us, the main downside was that you do take a bit of a hit on the food compared to Ikos (no a la carte breakfast or proper a la carte lunch, which we did miss, and only 4 a la carte dinners included for a 7 day stay). BUT the a la carte dinners were excellent, you can book them all easily in advance by email, and there’s a great option to pay a small top up for extra a la carte dinners if you want to (you get 20 euros credit per adult and 10 euros credit per child for food, and pay the difference - all drinks still included). We did that for a fifth a la carte meal so only ate in the main La Terrazza buffet twice - it was ok (kids loved it), but we much preferred the a la carte.
Some tips/info that might hopefully be useful for others in a similar position:
- If location within resort is really important to you, ask for a map and put in a specific request. We asked to be in Daphne building, they couldn’t accommodate the first night but offered to move us the second night. Our initial room was in Chloe building. Both rooms were great but the Daphne private pool was significantly bigger and the room was more spacious too, with a sliding door separating our room from the space with the sofa bed (and the other twin bedroom). Daphne is a fantastic central location in the resort. Downsides were that the pool was colder than the Chloe pool as it was bigger and in the shade all afternoon - if you want to lie in the sun on your terrace in the afternoon Chloe building is a better position. The Daphne room also didn’t have standard sun loungers (only the big blue comfy chair and the sofa and chairs, I asked for some but didn’t get any - although I didn’t chase up as didn’t really matter for us ). It was also less private as there is a pathway in front of it that comes from kids club and links to the path down to the beach, without plants screening the private pool from it, so yes you have people walking past. For us Daphne was a great choice but pros and cons to both (and both ultimately excellent rooms!).
- There are lots of different levels and it’s quite spread out - I wouldn’t recommend it with kids who really need a buggy (or for anyone with mobility issues) as navigating around avoiding steps seemed tricky. But this was clear before we booked, and we knew we would probably need to carry our 3-year old a bit at times.
- The food round the pool and water park was ok (decent pizza) but nothing special. The Deck restaurant on the beach now only offers the same “beach canteen” menu as you can order to sunloungers which is a shame, but it was a lovely place to sit and have lunch - it would get a bit samey every day though. Kuzina buffet at lunch is quite noisy and fairly basic, but does have air con. If you are really missing a la carte lunches, there’s a lovely taverna just along the beach by the Nido hotel (Taverna Akrogiali) where we had a great reasonably priced lunch the one day the kids did kids club over lunchtime. We also went to Corfu Old Town one day and ate at a great Italian - A Mano.
- Buffet breakfast at Kuzina had a decent albeit fairly standard selection and was a lovely setting if you could eat outside - but every day except one we were warned off eating outside with quite a curt “the wasps are bad today”. The acoustics of Kuzina inside are unfortunately very loud/grating, and I didn’t find it very relaxing, but everyone we spoke to said it was less chaotic at breakfast than La Terraza. We tried going earlier for a more chilled experience but then there was loud music from speakers that couldn’t be turned down (we were told it would become less noticeable once it got busier and louder with more people - which rather missed the point!). You can order room service breakfast at extra cost - but with five of us and the kids enjoying the buffet we just went to Kuzina and accepted it for what it was.
- The la carte restaurants were all great, both food and service. Our favourite was Deck Grill, closely followed by Celeste, then Kum Kuat and then Kuzina (mainly due to acoustics indoors - we moved outside part way through the meal and it was much more enjoyable - and the a la carte/buffet combination gave it a different feel). If going in August eat after 8pm if you want to eat outside, we had no issues with wasps eating a bit later and the kids were fine with it as they essentially just stayed on “UK time” and went to bed later and got up later.
- The pools are best for kids age 3+ who are confident in the water as there’s no “shallow end” as such or toddler splash area - main pools are 1m40 depth, the infinity pool by the water park does have a sloped entrance but is mainly 0.9m-1.2m. But our 3-year old had no issues and absolutely loved all of them.
- For younger kids also be aware there’s no sandy beach as such - the sand area round the deck can be used to make a small sandcastle but it’s not really a beach holiday in that sense. The kids still had great fun jumping off the deck and seeing the fish that can be easily seen with just a pair of goggles off the steps from the deck. The water was lovely and warm and so clear - our kids swam more in the sea here than ever before!
- We did the luxury catamaran trip to Paxos and Antipaxos at additional cost to celebrate a birthday, as well as the speedboat taxi to Corfu Old Town. Both were excellent and worth paying extra for - and Nikol and Stamatis in the Exclusive Services team are a credit to the hotel, thank you! In hindsight Corfu Old Town was a bit too hot for the kids in August, but they loved the speedboat. The catamaran is pricey but a brilliant day out for a special treat, and we all loved swimming off the boat. We had also booked the included boat trips through the hotel in advance (easily via email to Guest Relations, or you can do it via the app up to 14 days before arrival), but actually ended up cancelling those as the kids wanted more time at the resort after the other two trips - we could have done with 10 days rather than 7 to fit everything in!
- The kids club was fantastic. Just be aware that Worldwide Kids (who run it) open bookings at the start of the season (possibly even earlier), and it’s popular, so book as far in advance as you can - you can cancel online up to 24 hours before a session (and in practice we were able to adjust at even shorter notice). We had no problems getting the slots we wanted and the kids all had a great time - in fact they asked to go back! Particular thanks to Lucas, Beth and Angelina!
- Yes there are wasps but they really weren’t as bad as I had feared from some reviews - they were a bit annoying at lunch by the beach, but it was manageable (even with young kids), and they were not aggressive. Avoid fruity cocktails at the water park (save those for the evenings - they were much better quality from M-Bar and Belvedere Bar anyway!).
- Our kids loved the entertainment shows and live music in M-Bar. It’s a shame they don’t have a stage/area with decent lighting for things like the Circus Show and Fire and Light show, but that was a minor thing for us.
Thank you to all the team for a fantastic week!

We booked this hotel after our cruise and stay was cancelled. Arriving after a week of uncertainty re covid and the greek islands we were delighted to arrive at the hotel and immediately recognised the efforts gone to ensure that that covid safety was paramount. The public areas and our room were spotless. Amenities like hairdryer and remote control in sealed bags ..kettle and teamaking facilities removed but a quick call and bought to room. Rooms cleaned every 3 days but if you wanted cleaned more often it new towels just had to ask. Beach towels also provided but again sealed bags.
As most people say the staff here are really amazing nothing is too much trouble. How they managed to stay so cheerful whilst working in masks all day was inspiring.
Food. We had 6 visits arranged by the hotel between the Italian and Greek restaurants. Made a very pleasant change and the Greek outside area was very atmospheric. Generally the food wasnt brilliant not a huge choice and the lack of labelling in the buffet made it a bit difficult also it tended to be lukewarm. However we didnt have any major complaints about it. Our favourite place to eat was the beach restaurant.I think they missed a trick by not opening this up in the evenings as it was a lovely spot and would have made up for the closure of the seafood restaurant which I understand is normally on the jetty We did eat in both of the local taverna's on a couple of occasions which were both great value and high quality. Entertainment was very low key a couple evening singers . We enjoyed a drink on the terrace most evenings as it was the only bar area open in the nights most people congregated there. Perhaps a little more entertainment would have been nice. We went to the local taverna for a greek evening which was good fun and no additional expense just pay for what you eat and drink of the menu. Beach ..we loved it although not a typical sand beach decking with man made sandy areas and steps into the sea.It was so clear and clean lots of fish to see and a real treat. We only visited pool on way back from beach always saw plenty of sunbeds and appeared a relaxed vibe..but for us the beach and sea area were perfect. Would we come back ? Yes although maybe not for 2weeks I think a week to 10 days would be just right. But we had a wonderful time and would have no hesitation recommending the hotel.

Just returning from 11 days all inclusive holiday at Marbella Corfu.
We had a lovely sea view and being on the East coast we enjoyed some beautiful sun rises.
The hotel was clean and we felt very safe. The staff wore masks but holiday makers weren’t expected to wear them although they were provided in the room.
The room service was the best I have experienced and was extremely prompt and nothing to much trouble. Because of Covid there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room but a quick call they were brought to the room in one of their brown bags to show they had been sanitised.
Evening entertainment was every other evening and low key but one night stood out with people dancing and asking for more. The drinks were good quality but the searing in the bar lounge looked nice but wasn’t comfortable and several people commented on it.
The hotel gardens are beautiful and lead fine to the sea which is accessed by steps from a boardwalk, so not ideal for children.
Drinks and lunch served on the beach are all good. The wasps are a bit of a nuisance but didn’t impact on our enjoyment.
The us a beautiful top sun terrace of the main bar but this is underused as the bar here doesn’t open till 5pm, I think it would be of benefit ti guests if it opened much earlier.
The hotel is in its own grounds and though there are a couple of tavernas nearby there arn’t any shops or places to stroll as the road at the bottom is narrow and very windy with no pavements so would be unsafe for a walk. There is a morning hike organised by the hotel and free paddle boarding lessons, keep fit in the pool and yoga, so enough to keep you going if you wanted.
What let the hotel down was the food temperature which was often like warm and occasionally just cold, except in the Greek restaurant where we had 3 excellent meals.
What really makes this hotel is the staff who are so friendly and obliging and really make you feel special. There are too many to mention them all but would like say a big thank you Konstantyna and Christine in the Italian restaurant, Kelli in the Greek, Maria guest relations and Georgie in the evening bar.

Just returned from a 7 night star at the Marbella Corfu and to say it was disappointing would be be understatement.
Although we expected things to be different in the pandemic, and it was our choice to have a holiday, we didn't expect the amenities that this 5 star hotel offered to be downgraded to a 2-3 star bearing in mind the price we had paid for this one week stay (over £1k each).
Only two restaurants opened at lunchtime with the same limited menu everyday. Main restaurant choices were abysmal for breakfast and dinner, you have to queue in so many different lines to put a meal together that by the time you sit down and eat it is all cold (i.e. meat in one line, vegetables in another, bread choices in another (dire) and so on.
We were booked in to specialists restaurants for three nights, but, again limited menu , but think this was just to relieve the pressure on the main restaurant
Only 2 bars opened during the day, which were the beach and pool bars, with nowhere to get snacks (cannot think how families with children coped with this) and only one bar open of an evening
We ere told on arrival that our rooms would only be cleaned every three days which in a pandemic you would have thought would have been done every day, our rooms were actually cleaned only ONCE during our 7 day stay and not very good at that (only bed linen and towels changed).
You cannot fault the staff who are all (mostly) very friendly and helpful, although it was sometimes very difficult to understand them because of the face masks they were wearing, staff with face shields on were much easier to understand.
Room service was also very good and fast but still the limited menu available for this.
Wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have mobility difficulties, we had to get in two lifts and walk many corridors every time to get the the main building for the main restaurant and loads of stairs (some very steep) to get to the others (the ones that were open that is).
WASPS - there are loads of wasps around (you expect some in hot countries but they are every where, we even had one follow us in to the lift lol). Although none us of were stung there were very annoying and spoil the relaxing time we should have had.
This was our first stay at this hotel and am sorry to say will not be returning.

I have just come back from a awesome holiday to this hotel. I went with my 8 yr old daughter we we felt very safe with COVID-19. Every member of staff wear masks within the hotel and when you get to your room it had been sterilised as a note was put on the door so once you entered it broke the note. The beach was a little walk from the main hotel but you could get into three different lifts from where we was based which wasn’t a problem one of the swimming pools was a salt water swimming pool and the other one was a Chlorine pool. The food was good for the situation that we are in currently the cleanliness of the hotel was superb. Due to the time of the year the only thing there was so many wasps around the swimming pools but that cannot be helped by the hotel if you ask the staff by the pool they will spray the table all the beds that you occupy with some repellent

We Stayed at the MarBella Corfu for a week in April in an all inclusive package.
When we arrived we were impressed with the facilities and cleanliness of the hotel, however this soon dissipated once we began speaking to the front of house staff. They did get us to our evening meal immediately but once we returned everything went down hill. Spoken to like 2nd class clientele the staff were much more interested in serving the older clients rather than dealing with us (even though we were first).
With that over with we went to our room which was lovely. The room was clean and tidy with a fantastic view of the ocean. The following day we went to breakfast, they had put on a wide range of foods, which seems great until we realised that it tasted poor. Little effort made in serving us by hotel staff and waiters. We then went to the beach, relaxed and had a swim. We then went to the beach restaurant which turned things around, the staff were attentive and the food was excellent.
We then went to the Splash diner for one of our "luxurious" meals... Wow how terrible was the impression when we left, the staff completely ignored us, making us get up from our seats 3 times to order drinks, whilst at the same time an elderly couple sat 2 tables away received exceptional service. The food did make up somewhat for the meal, the ribs were fantastic as were the deserts. The steak that was ordered looked and tasted more like a beef burger pretending to be a steak.
Don't go if you're under 50

We just arrived back from a 2 week break at Marbella Corfu and I have to say considering the current situation the hotel have dealt with this very well. All the staff had face masks on at all times there was ample hand sanitiser everywhere.
We had 2 rooms one in the main building on the 9th floor and a 2 bed suite with its own pool which was superb. Around the 2 main pools 1 salt water 1 chlorine the sun beds were spread out adequately and cleaned after every use with towels coming in plastic bags so you knew that the were new.
The staff are exceptionally friendly, polite and helpful with a special mention to Evgenia in guest relations who was magnificent and Florin in the Italian who was also outstanding.
The only downside was the menus were a little limited and not all the restaurants were open only 2 a la carte the Greek and Italian. On saying that the food was of a high standard. We didn't go to the buffet so I cant comment on that. The other downside was if you were ultra all inclusive the wine list was limited to 3 white 2 red & 1 rose. Given the current climate you also need to book your restaurant times for both breakfast and dinner. The beach bar food was nice but there is a wasp issue which can be a little irritating. Ask for the smoking coffee grinds which does stop them a bit.
Overall a good trip

This was our 3 rd trip to the MarBella Corfu
And certainly will not be our last .
After 5 months in lockdown in Scotland it was time to get away and Corfu was for us the place to go to. The Marbella have got a app up and running which you put on your phone you can order anything from ironing board to a tea bag to extra cleaning of room etc etc well done to the hotel for getting this organised so quickly .
The staff are all wearing masks and sanatizer is all over hotel inside lifts restaurants toilets , beach towels are wrapped in bags and only opened by yourself they are handling the covid situation very well .
We stayed in a superior sea view room unfortunately on the 2 nd floor and we had a large tree in front of us unfortunately this was not so good but my only criticism and as I said at the start we will be back all staff are professional and give 100 per cent

We’ve recently returned home from a fabulous week.
I can not speak highly enough of this hotel from amazing staff, food and beverage, location, views, beautiful grounds, cleanliness, facilities etc....It really does have it all!.
One of the main things I know many people are concerned about with travel currently is Covid. This hotel is handling the situation brilliantly. The hotel has an app where you can check in, view menus, request amenities and so on making almost everything contactless in the hotel. Hand sanitise stations everywhere, Covid screens, staff wearing PPE and more. We felt completely safe throughout our whole stay.
The staff are clearly working so hard and tirelessly here, you see the same faces at breakfast as you do in the evening but they are still smiling and so friendly and efficient.
The staff make this hotel and will without a doubt make your holiday amazing.
Special mention for our À la carte evening meals, they were sensational. All our meals in the main buffet restaurant were impeccable for an all inclusive buffet restaurant. It definitely exceeded our expectations.
We had a sea view room and it was great to watch the sunrise over the sea each morning.
I booked into the spa and had a great massage, I’d definitely recommend pampering yourself if you get the opportunity.
If I’m honest we only ended up here due to the travel corridor and were just thankful to get a holiday this year, but we are so so pleased that we did end up here and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back again in the future. We’ve travelled to some amazing places, hotels, countries and this hotel easily sits nearing the top rated for us.
I honestly can not fault this hotel or our holiday at all. If you go here I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you MarBella Corfu, you are amazing and I look forward to returning again some day.

Just got back from 2 weeks there with familyt. First off full marks for the Covid safe way the place operated. all staff in shields or masks and all surfaces sanitised. Depsite the alarmist media headlines about going abroad this place is very safe indeed.
Secondly the staff were super helpful and mentions go to Anna who did the fitness and other classes and Yolanda on recption who passed on a messge abut a noisy neighbour, which meant when I phoned later to complain they knew about the situation. The restaurant staff are also friendly and attentive. If I were going agian I would say that the main building rooms are more spacious than the outer pool ones. I would also say that I wasn't happy about the amount of kids running feral late at tnight at times and the noise they made , but thats more to do with parents and not the hotel. They did a few movie nights which kept the younger child amused and us too. There are two pools a salt water and non salt water one, both of which were needed in the 33 degree heat! Yes poolside wasps and the odd hornet are problems, but during out time none of us got stung. I suppose in a way you get use to them. I found the small beach very safe and there are loungers and a cafe near it. Tip: for water and other drinks and ice cream you can try the near by small shops - may be a bit cheaper. Night time I don't aprreciate lots of noise especially thumping club music. So it was good they didn't play that. There was light jazz and pop from a duo most nights and it wasn't too bad. What was bad, was the volume of the kids club which I could hear as if we were next door to it ( we weren't) . Also the pool music was inane and too loud. However, these are minor gripes in what i would sum up as a very well run hotel and it has some spectacular views aswell of the mountains of the mainland. I would say that it's not the hotel for young clubbers or gangs of youngsters , but if you want a decent family freindly stay then I'd recommend it.

Hello - I was there the second week of October and it was definitely open. I think the whole hotel closes down for winter towards the end of October, so check. If you book early for 2025 there is a good discount on rates.
I hope you have a great time
