Lovey get away! We stayed in a room in the Guest House - it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast options were somewhat limited, but delicious. The Innkeeper was friendly and helpful - any inquires were promptly addressed. There are numerous seating areas in the Manor, Guest House and grounds. The location is convenient for walking to the beach or into town.

My husband and I were excited for out first stay at Yelton Manor. The website photos of the food, garden and accolades about the hosts were obviously about the previous owners. There is actually nothing wrong with the bed and breakfast-- if it was half the price you'd feel great. The rooms are nicely appointed and the location is excellent. Other than that there is very little service. We stayed five nights and were never offered fresh towels, a change of linens or had the garbage emptied. I actually did it myself and put the used towels and garbage in the laundry room. The breakfast is skimpy. One item on the small menu was a bagel with cream cheese and a side of fruit, only there was no fruit. The inn keeper is responsive if you ask. I needed an iron and she went out a bought one and left it at the door of our room. On the positive side there are fresh brownies, a bowl of fruit, bottles of water and youghut available to guests. The joy of staying at a bed and breakfast is the relationship you develop with the owners and staff. The gals currently managing the inn don't understand the power of personal connection and level of service that merit the high prices and return guests.

Room Tip: The larger rooms are quite a bit nicer, but the overall not worth the price.

This is not the same Yelton Manor that previous ownership put blood, sweat, and tears into. This was our sixth stay with my wife and it could be our last. When we first arrived we heard more about the Innkeepers dislikes in the first 15 minutes than we needed to know. Never once asking what brought us into town for the weekend. The value is not there for how much the rooms cost. Garbages were not emptied, no oils for the jacuzzi, had to ask for more than one roll of toilet paper, no working internet, no popcorn machine, limited snacks, no beach towels, no hose to rinse your feet off, no ice, no tables on the patio. Surrey the two person bike didn’t make an appearance until Saturday night, when it became to dark to ride safely on the streets. In the past, that was a staple for quality pictures. The luxury is long gone. On Saturday night, the power went out for eight hours or so. No fault of the Manor, but the Innkeeper was not around to accommodate the guests. Previous owners would have gone above and beyond to make something out of nothing. Next morning breakfast was canceled, no coffee available, place was dirty. We ended up going down to Bundy’s bakery, who didn’t seem to have a problem getting coffee and pastries ready after a power outage. When we came back, the housekeeper looked right at us on the stairs and didn’t say one thing. We were just like wow, nice customer service. Sums up the quality of the stay, which could potentially be our last. There is another B&B around the corner that could be worth a shot.

What a gem this place was. We found this spot online and saw so many great reviews. We were bummed when we found out the old owners were no longer there but boy were we delighted in the service Victoria gave us. There was a power outage that lasted late into the night, we were on our way to get dinner when this happened. Victoria was outside trying to catch all of the guest that were coming and going from the Inn to inform them of the power outage and was actively working on getting us some answers . With the uncertainty of the timeframe Victoria offered her services to us to help us find a place for dinner( Saugatuck still had power) She made reservations for us as the ATnT towers were also down. We sat on the patio with her and a few of the other guest where were offered water bottles and snacks to hold us over until we were off to our reservation. Although breakfast was not served in the morning and coffee was not made we were very understanding as power was not restored until 3-4 am . Our first time here definitely had had its hiccups, with no fault of the inn, but we will surely be back for another visit. We loved the menu options we had for breakfast on our first morning ( french toast with local syrup was my favorite) The plethora of books with cozy little nooks to read them in really topped off the trip. Thank you for a delightful stay.

I have to say for our first visit to a small town we didn't know much about we nailed it staying here. The BnB is absolutely gorgeous, well kept and had a helpful staff with a great breakfast. The host was very accommodating and friendly without being intrusive. We were truly able to relax and enjoy our weekend. South Haven is a charming little town with many shops and dining experiences that we were able to walk to from our room. Lake Michigan is literally steps away and it was great to be able to stroll the beach in the morning after grabbing some coffee. I'm so glad we took the leap to visit this town and we will definitely be back to the Yelton Manor. If you are looking for a nice relaxing weekend away where it is quiet and peaceful, I highly recommend you check this place out!
