The property has no pretensions about it. Within a couple of blocks of everything in downtown area. Suspect that some of the colorful locals who congregate each night near the office are long term residents, but they are quiet by 10PM. Room was dark and seemed empty although everything expected was present. Pillows were soft but matress frame was hard and mattress offered very little support. Reasonable price when booked online weeks in advance.

Most places were full and found this place on here. Definitely not updated but room was large and clean. Room had a fridge and microwave..more than our other more expensive rooms had. For $60 where else could a family of 5 stay comfortably?!! Also big plus was within walking distance to downtown and the Soo.

My friends and I have stayed at Mid City for several years in row for salmon fishing trips. This property is inexpensive and clean other than that not much except the fact you can walk to fish to the bar to the restaurant and too downtown Sault Ste Marie. I recommend this place for those on a budget who need a no frills experience.

We booked this place to go to the Soo Locks, it is close to walk to them and downtown. The place is older and could use some touch up, but it is clean, the bed was comfortable, room had a microwave and refrigerator it was all you needed for a place to sleep. The place was full because it was Engineer Day at the locks, I was worried about noise since the parking for everyone is right out your door, it was not a problem, there was no noise from the adjoining room or from the parking lot. You could hear when someone above was running the shower, but that was it. For the price it was a deal...we will stay there again.

I travel on a budget often through Michigan and the UP. For $54 this is the nastiest place I have ever stayed. The positives are that the room is huge, has a fridge and microwave, desk, table, and a large fairly comfortable bed. But the place is not clean at all. Cobwebs in every corner, the tile grout in the shower was black, and the walls had scuffs and dirt in many places. The exit of the parking lot is horrible, through an alley, and it's so rough on the alley and on Brady Street you're liable to blow a tire. I opted to come here over Lockview to save $30 but next time I will try something on Ashmun to avoid this place.

In need of repairs
Sex offenders living on property
People walking around with ankle gps tether and bragging about being locked up in prison. If you are looking for a safe place go somewhere else. My wife was terrified.

From call to reserve the room to checkout, the owners and staff were friendly and helpful, made us feel welcome. It seems to be a little older place, but the room was clean and everything worked fine. We had a quiet, good night’s rest in a comfortable bed with nice pillows.

I waited until literally the last minute to find a room in town, so I was really glad the owner let me check in at the same price as regular bookings, which is of course very affordable compared to other options in town.

The room itself was clean and the air conditioning worked fine. It's easy to see that the owner puts effort into making the motel a great place to stay despite it being an older building. For improvements, I would suggest doing some renovations to seal up some spots in the bathroom (e.g. the soap holder on the wall above the bathtub, some floor tiles in the corners). I found the Wi-Fi signal inside my room to be somewhat weak (the signal outside was much stronger), but once connected the speed was good. The front desk is open until around 11 PM, though I think the owner lives in the building as well. Free pastries for breakfast too.

Price is good, room clean and comfortable
Comfortable beds. We will definitely stay again.

Bathrooms were dated but clean. What else do you need?

I gave it 3 stars strictly for the price.
But the bed caused me to have the worst nights sleep. Very firm/hard mattress. Very dated and dark room. Toilet leans to the back.

Good things. The heater worked, plenty of towels, clean, large TV, hot water, quiet, had security cameras.
