Enjoyed my stay here! Room was clean and well kept. Sometimes these discount motel chains can make me nervous but this one definitely deserves some kudos! Bed wasn't super-cushy but was comfortable enough for me. The vinyl "wood" flooring throughout is a nice addition. Nice hot shower, micro and fridge in the room. A little off the beaten path, meaning not much you can walk to. State Police station next door, so definitely in a safe place! Can't beat the rate. Staff was super nice and helpful. Didn't take advantage of the morning breakfast other than some coffee so can't comment on that. Definitely worth a look if your are in the Soo.

We stayed just one night before viewing nearby attractions.
The hotel was easy to find off the Interstate.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful...easily the best part of the hotel
The room was adequate, it had both a fridge (which we used) and a microwave oven (which we didn't use)
The bed was low to the ground and the mattress was uneven.
The "grab and go" breakfast wasn't great, but was better than nothing.
The room rate was about average for what we received.
Overall...an average experience for a reasonable rate...the front desk staff was outstanding!

out of the few hotels we stayed at in the area, americas best value inn in sault ste. marie had the most friendly staff. this is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. the breakfast was better than most budget hotels. the room was clean and comfortable.

The best thing this place has going for it is the front desk staff. They are awesome, especially Katie.
Cons:
The beds are VERY hard and uncomfortable.
The breakfast food was not replenished after a big group of corrections cadets left for the day around 6 am.
No elevator.
Bed was not re-made 2 nights out of 5.
Toilet handle has to be held down a long time for proper flush.
Pros:
Clean.
Microwave in room.
Fridge in room — but had no shelf inside to hold food.

Outdated rooms, with bunch of cracks and marks on the walls and furniture. Cleanness could be much better, it's nightmare for anyone with allergy on dust. Sleeping on their bed gives me the same feelings as sleeping on plywood. But the worst part they charged $50/night extra for having emotional support animal with us and don't want refund money for 2 nights that was cancelled.

I knew it was at the value end when I booked it but the whole place was sad and tired - look at the cupboards behind the reception desk. Room was so sad that we didn’t really feel like stopping, fixtures from the 1980s and very chipped wooden furniture. Still linens and towels were fresh and clean and people on reception were friendly. As with other reviews we had to run the vanguard of clouds of cigarette smoke from an employee smoking outside the main door. Very noisy neighbour overnight meant my wife had a sleepless night and the breakfast looked better left alone so we went to a diner in town. Wouldn’t go again.

It's a no frills hotel chain. However! The staff at this location is awesome! The listing on Hotels.com is correct and they do have rollaway beds available! So that was a big plus! The room was clean, the ordered rollaway was already in the room when we got there.

Stayed here for 3 nights in July 2004. We had a whirlpool *suite* but it was really just a basic room with a small whirlpool stuck in the corner. It was nice though after a long day of walking to relax in there, both of us nearly fell asleep. The biggest gripe we had with this hotel was the bed...the matress was fine but the sheets didn't fit and kept coming off and had pilling on them. I just couldn't sleep well on them. The third day hubby talked to the manager and they knocked 20.00 off our room rate per night for the inconvenience...and when we came back we had sheets that fit and were not pilled. The breafast was great but the breakfast room was very small and overcrowded. There was lots of selection though and we started each morning with a great meal...they kept it well stocked right til the end of breakfast. Overall it was a great stay and we would do it again :)

I have stayed at the Sault Super 8 Motel for a few years now. On my last visit many new updates have been put in place. Lobby internet and furniture is awesome!! You truly can not find a cleaner, more friendly inexpensive place to stay in the Sault Area. The staff there is always available to help me out and make suggestions on where to go, what to do and even where to eat!! Keep up the good work Super 8 staff of the SOO!

I had stayed at this hotel 2 times before and was well satisfied. This time I reserved my room a couple months ahead of my stay like I had done before. About a week before my stay I called to make sure everything was ok and I am glad I called. They had me reserved for only one night when I had requested 2 nights so they changed that to 2 nights. Upon my arrival at the hotel they had me on the second floor when I had requested first floor so they changed that. Upon entering the room there is no chair or desk so I told them and they said they could not get a chair because they were all filled up so my lady went and told them and they finally brought in a chair out of the lobby. There was no fridge and they said they would get one the next day but they never did. The bed was broke. there was no carpet on the floor. There was no baseboard on the wall in the bathroom. The breakfast was good and the price they had quoted was right but the room was a disaster not nice like the couple times I had stayed there before.
